He’s right. Not a Hollywood director nor we as simple normal people want to admit it, but everyone gets worse with age on some level. More boring, more predictable, less fire, less open minded - so he’s right and should go through with that. He can write books after that

It’ll be a sad day for entertainment when Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, and Vince Gilligan retire. On the flip side, they will wholeheartedly deserve the time off with their families, and be stress-free given how hard they have worked on their creative visions. As Tarantino says and I’m paraphrasing here; “It’s better to leave with your head help up high”.

Let's talk GOAT directors: Scorsese: Great movies but here and there some not that great ones (Aviator, Hugo, Silence, Kundun) but even the last one was great (Flower moon) Kubrick: Between A Clockwork Orange and The Shining there was Barry Lyndon. It was a pity coming back for Eyes Wide Shut, but the point is he has duds between masterpieces. Nolan: After Tenet he came out with Oppenheimer. Forget Spielberg, Coppola or Hitchcock, all had bad and good movies. Fincher: Girl with a golden tattoo, Zodiac, still does movies after those. My point: QT isn't perfect himself. Death Proof is a dud. And let's not pretend that all his movies are at the same level. The Waltz flicks are perfect. Pulp Fiction too, but Jackie Brown and the Hateful eight although good movies, not as good as the previously mentioned.

I wanna see him take a big risk for the last one and not just do the same old crime thriller type movie. Once Upon A Time was kinda like that and it was great but it was still a little safe. Maybe a horror thriller or slasher type movie or maybe an alien invasion type movie. Go out with a real bang. He could do a badass remake also like The Warriors or something but a reimagining. But I doubt he would want to do that.
