On Good Friday we follow the stations of the cross, the passion and crucification of Jesus of Nazareth. "O Mensch, bewein dein Sünde groß" is a Lutheran hymn with text written by Sebald Heyden in 1530. The author reflects the Passion, based on the Four Evangelists, originally in 23 stanzas. The melody is attributed to Matthäus Greitter around 1524 and was published in the Strasbourg hymnals of ...

"O Lamm Gottes, unschuldig" is an early Lutheran hymn from about 1541, with text and melody attributed to Nikolaus Decius. It is a version of the Agnus Dei that was used on Good Friday between the Sermon and Communion. O Lamm Gottes unschuldig,am Stamm des Kreuzes geschlachtet, allzeit erfunden geduldig, wie wohl du wurdst verachtet:all' Sünd' hast du getragen, sonst müßten wir verzagen.Erbarm' di...

5 verses taken from "The Hymnal 1982" with harmonisation by J.S. Bach in the 5th verse.
I love your history, details, and illustrations of stops being used.
Very noble swell organ !
Lasted 3 minutes then was falling asleep. BORING!
Beautiful console. Thanks for the tour.
Excellent demonstration of this sample set! I am waiting for the updated set to come out and plan on using it in my church. This organ seems to do everything and is great for accompanying with 3 enclosed divisions. Who built your console?
Hello, could you publish "Inside the organ 005" ... Your videos are very instructive. Tks ...
It seems that the video "Inside the organ 005" has not yet been published. Is that so, as I cannot find it anywhere. I would be quite interested to see your approach to Audio Configurations in Hauptwerk v5. Thanks
Excellent video! I wish this had been available when I was wondering whether or not I wanted to get this set or perhaps one of the two available Willis sets. It would have sped up my decision for this lovely sample set for sure 😀
Is that the Peterborough sample? Thanks for your latest demo!
Stephen, thank you for your comment! The hymn for Palm Sunday 2020 was recorded on the Salisbury sampleset.
Thank you for the demonstration. We hope you are enjoying our virtual organ. Do come and try the real thing when you are in the area.
Just to be sure: the samples were all recorded while the organ was still pitched at A=451 ? And they have not been doctored, so the virtual organ is still at 451 while the real one is now at 440 ? And if that's right, how come the virtual organ includes the tuba mirabilis that was never present at A=451 ?
George Battrick The Organ was completely sampled before the re-pitching to provide an historic record, including dry samples recorded from next to each pipe. Following the work by Harrisons the 3 new ranks and one extension were sampled. Some other ranks were re-sampled. The Hauptwerk software is able to set the temperament and pitch as required, so not a problem to play the old samples at concert pitch, or the new samples at Old Philharmonic pitch.
@@stephennortonorganist8808 Wow. And while I have previously heard of a "dry" acoustic, it's only in this context that I've come across "wet" to mean that the room characteristics are included. Cute.
Excellent demonstration of an organ I intend to purchase at some point. Thank you!
Stephen this is great! It would be terrific if you would consider making a short video showing how you have wired up the back of the rack between the components. Thank you!
Hi Jat, unfortunately the cabinet does not have a removable back panel, so it is not possible to get a camera angle that works.
Magnificent, just grand!
Excellent video, Stephen. I'd be fascinated to see exactly how you've configured the tracker touch etc.
Thank you! The keys (original wooden, Victorian) are sprung at the rear with coil springs. The tracker simulation is done by having round magnets glued into the upper surface of each key, just behind the key rail. Above the keys is a horizontal bar of magnetic metal, covered with a thin layer of felt. The result is a bit noisy when the keys release. A more professional approach (on a new stack) would be to get something from Laukhauf or Eisenschmidt that uses a tilting fly spring mechanism to simulate the "pluck".
Halleluia ! We did it
And this console is in your apartment?
yes, George.
