Why is it that everytime someone wants to keep things fresh with fames, someone complains because it's different?

The game would be exciting if its NOT CALLED killing floor.

It looks cool even though all these points are true but I like Sci fi so I’ll definitely play when it comes out.

Killing Floor used to look like a late 1900's horror with some British B movie elements to lighten the mood from how depressing and grim it could get. There was some minor sci-fi elements, but it was for only the really powerful equipment and felt like top secret Horzine tech that was also being experimented with. Killing Floor 2 started putting up all these holographic and sci-fi stuff everywhere and has it lose its charms. There was too much muscle growth added into the zed batches that have them lose their sickly and diseased looks. The lighting somehow felt less impactful and everything getting a plastic feel with how the Unreal engine works anymore. Killing Floor 3 just isn't Killing Floor. It's a full opposite of what it was or an exasperation of elements to annoying degrees. KF1 characters were humorous with their backstories of how they've managed to survive the initial outbreak, but they've since lost the grounded part of themselves. No longer am I going to play as Bill "Baddest Santa" Weeks. The guy who failed at being a mall Santa to where he drowned his sorrows at a local pub and finds himself in the middle of the apocalypse and an incredible amount of anger. Now we're all high-tech super specialists firing off futuristic weapons at DOOM Eternal mobs.

Nostalgia, you're trying to get the feeling you had when you played KF1, but KF1 had a miriad of problems and was super slow and punishing. I think it's a good thing they're not emulating KF1 because it would be a horrible game to play today. I hope they take the best of what both KF1 did right and KF2 and expand upon it, they did it with KF2 i have complete faith tripwire can do it again for KF3.

Nothing about the gameplay? All you did was talk about the aesthetic. Fans including myself don't like Killing Floor 3 because it became Doom and a hero shooter instead of Killing Floor.

I had no issues with the trader being more futuristic. Actually preferred it

I see the KF3 designs as representing the new and improved Zeds. In my view, the KF1 Zeds were like the initial experiments. Then, in KF2, they became stronger and better, with designs that reflected that progression. KF3 feels like the culmination-perfected Zeds, possibly backed by some army or government, allowing for high-tech upgrades, better labs, and so on. Still, the perk system was what made KF special in my eyes, and I hope they reconsider their decision about it.

To be honest I feel like the graphics and the game cant really co-exist, KF1 was grungy because the graphics limitations were the best thing for that type of style and is why so many games like that were released but with less graphics limitations and a game industry that isnt focussed on decrepid styles which were the norm when KF1 released for horror esque games. It just allowed tripwire to put the graphics they wanted but couldnt actually do at the time I believe and were kinda just following what they thought would be better for a zombie shooter because with todays realistic graphics if they were to go for the same vibe it would either not work and would have to become really dark or too dull, and i know games like elden ring work it perfectly but thats just a completely different genre and I feel to fit the lore they had to change it to sci-fi because it just wasnt right to keep it an apocalypse vibe without looking to generic like how cod zombies looks the same every year. And i remember playing both KF1 and KF2 and honestly preferred KF2 just because it placed it in a more advanced scenario allowing more to be done with the lore that wasnt just grotesque for the sake of the theme

KF1 was an effort in survival. KF2 was an effort in skins. KF3 will probably be a travesty. I hope I'm wrong.

Not gonna lie i laughed the moment i seen the "upgrades" the Zeds have. I get Horzine would have improved the Zeds in some ways but this is so cyber futuristic it feels more like a 50-60year leap.. and where the hell are the rest of my OG charecters i get some would be either really old or so but come on..

so you are saying that the games evolved? yeah the enemies are more enhanced after each game, wich makes sense. if you wanna play kf1, go play it xd

Isn't this supposed to be the 3rd iteration of Killing Floor? So evolution of some aspects of the game is bound to change.

I think what it is is as time went on, horzine refined the zeds. Making them higher tech and "more deadly" kf1 was first gen numbers, kf2 second gen, kf2 third gen.

Don't forget John Gibson the former CEO of Tripwire and why he got fired. John believed that abortion was killing a baby in the mothers womb and the tweet to support a political policy was enough to get him fired. Also the specialist system is to force DEI down your throat. We are dealing with politically motivated people that think white people are inherently bad. The main demographic that makes up the fan base of Killing Floor. It's so bad.

Killing floor is whatever the devs decide it is. It's always been moving towards a more futuristic setting and it never took itself that serious. KF2 was fun as hell and surpassed KF1 in every way (besides the predatory microtransactions.) I have no doubt KF3 will be another leap.

I think Zynthetic said they were asked to be a part of KF3 and then refused because all of the devs they knew (and the main reason why they went into KF) aren't there anymore. And while they will still be in the game, it just shows it's not Killing Floor anymore. It hasn't been for a long time, maybe 2016-2018.

Doubt kf3 be the game of the year but it sure is nice playing a new kf game I like the new idea of bringing new things to the table and not your avg og good new bad type of mentality

Killing Floor: all time peak player count 21,151 Killing Floor 2: all time peak player count 69,246 Not everyone wants terrible graphics for the sake of that "grimy" feel. The reason games like SH for ps1 and og KF looked the way they did, was to cover up the low res models and textures. It's easy to hid imperfections and low levels of detail when you smear blood and sh1t all over the walls. KF2 on launch had almost as many players as KF had all time peak and by September of that same year (5 months after release) it hit 24,113. KF2 from launch to now, has stayed around 3k+ average player count, while og KF dipped to sub 1k, to 600s to 300s and has stayed around the 200s to 300s for the past several years, while KF2 has had vastly superior numbers from launch to now. Most of the peaks in og KF are on months where the game was like $2, and immediately the following month, people abandoned the game. OG KF was amazing when it first came out, but it has aged horribly, and is why KF2 destroyed it in terms of numbers. Overall, KF2 is just a much more enjoyable game. As long as KF3 maintains the core gameplay loop that makes KF games fun, the updates to the aesthetic and systems won't negatively impact it, but potentially make it more fun. The revised doom franchise is one of the most popular out there, so saying it looks or even feels like doom, is not the negative you perceive it to be. KF3 can have a doom like aesthetic, while maintaining it's identity. I'm not worried in the slightest.

Look I didn’t play KF1 only KF2 but I don’t see much of the problem. I like how it looks DOOM inspired and more disgusting I mean they have crawlers who actually crawl more than on the floor the restriction to mobility has been improved. New ideas and new models. I fw the new everything imo the game is gonna be just as fun if your up to enjoy it and play it. 🤷🏾‍♂️ KF3 lets get it

KF1 had the best vibe, imo KF2 failed it completely in many aspects just felt wrong, but ngl KF3 feels like a banger it has true horror vibes

If you want vanilla KF experience, just play KF1? You do realize they are making new game in series, not making 4k HD Remastered version of KF1..

Honestly, I'm okay with the futuristic vibe. Yes, kf2 was odd at times, but the mechanics and gameplay were amazing, saving the game. But I don't have any hope for kf3 after seeing the specialists

Art direction is only part of a game. Look how KF2 kicked things up from KF1. KF3 is now a kick up from both games, visually. Also, let's not forget how utterly devastating and truly grim KFmod 1.0 is compared to the 2.xx releases. KF1 retail lost that identity totally. It was down to the artist's choice. I do agree that KF2 got overly goofy with the numerous cosmetic and having the trader be replaced by a vending machine. I'm hopeful the gameplay for KF3 will the best of the bunch, which is what counts the most, personally. Time will tell.

Why didn't you say this about KF2? It's still futuristic. What a stupid complaint, this game is gonna be lit, who cares if it's a revival in the future? The zombies are mutated now, it's a new challange. If you want a gritty zombie shooter with a creepy vibe, go play No More Room In Hell.
