It can happen to actually more than anyone. I've been knowing that PFS existed for almost 20 years, never accepted Propecia (even though doctors may have firmly insisted!) and resisted taking SSRIs all my life. At 45, I get from a single pill of fucking ASHWAGANDHA. Someone come with an explanation please. The pump gun is ready for them doctors and pharmacists, just saying.

Even when Propecia'll be out the market there'll still be cases, as many endocrine disruptors are causing it : it even seems any anti-androgen or serotonergic drug is triggering it, from SSRIs to Accutane, and many SUPPLEMENTS (ASHWAGANDHA, Lion's Mane, Saw Palmetto). In the post-Covid world it seems to be exploding. It's an emerging disease I'm under shock to it was identified 20 years ago and still 0 recognition, 0 government implication in the research. Research financed 100% by patients and their families.

You're not alone and not to be blamed in the slightest, it's an insecurity so many men have to deal with and this drug is pedaled in a very predatory way. Mitch's one of these guys who acted on behalf of a 1000 of us who did nothing to improve our cause & spent years spreading dispair and lament. I don't know his exact role in the creation of the network but if there were at least a dozen like him the cause wouldn't be where it's been for years. I mean, putting a US charity together and scientific projects centred on the AR by microbiologists on the top of their fields - I understand most of you fuckos don't know better but at least shell 100 bucks a year to the network, shut your mouth and learn. I'm so glad there are a few doctors out there fighting for us--having PFS and reading all of the studies/articles declaring PFS to be psychosomatic and delusional is such a frustrating and isolating experience. I'm 23 y/o with no history of mental disorders and I have to take cialis just to get an erection, and other stuff to boost my libido. I'm glad awareness of PFS is slowly building so people can make an informed decision before Hims or Keeps throws pills in their face.

George, my experience has been quite similar. I thought Id put it out there that I also had elevated prolactin levels after taking it and i also got gyno (the least of my worries), although it returned to normal.

Wow I was scheduled for 3k grafts transplant and I am SO nervous about finesteride. I work in the medical field (Doctor of Physical therapy). I work in a hospital setting and know how docs will prescribe meds like nothing and see patients pass away and on to the next one. I don't mind the procedure but I will not take oral drugs. I hate drugs and hope I can be off all of them. Good luck and hope you know you possibly saved me from hell.

After watching the discussion, I feel like I need to tell my story. Maybe someone might find hope in it. I fist took finasteride back in January 2018, I only took it for three days. I immediately started noticing changes. It started out with mild headaches, to feeling a loss of libido. I immediately stopped the medication and was back ok for about a week, whereafter I experienced this typical crash. I was hospitalized for a month during this period. I had severe brain fog, depression, feeling a disconnect between the brain and the dick, no sensitivity on the tip of the dick, no morning wood, when I would be able to come there was no sensation of having an orgasm in the brain. During the worst time at the start I also had no appetite, insomnia, ... After about a month, things started improving. Slowly I was starting to feel more like myself again. The recovery definitely went in ups and downs. After about 1,5 to 2 years I was fully recovered. I did not try anything and felt like I had to trust my body's ability to recover first. Now, im not saying that this is what you should do. At the time I was just to scared to do things that would be make it worse or prohibit my body to heal. I can say that going to the tanning salon during the winters definitely helped for me at improving my overall mood, and further taking care of your body, eating healthily, exercising. I think it's important to realize that almost all the people that do recover never come back to speak about it. So there are many more recovery stories that are just not being shared. For anybody going through this hell right now, I wish you a lot of courage and strength. Please don't lose hope, take it day by day and don't give up. within a year you might find yourself in a different situation. I'm sorry that this happened to both you and me.

I remember Mary was already very active on forums about this issue when I was going through PFS in 2018-19. I was only 21 and it actually meant a lot to me. I also shortly spoke to Mary and she listened to my story. Thank you for all you are doing, it has unmeasurable value.

This might be strange, but for me going to the tanning salon during the winter helped alot. I had severe side effects back in 2018 that persisted for 1,5 years. I believe im fully recovered now, luckily. It might be the case that vitamine D is important for recovery, or I just naturally recovered with time. I had both physical and cognitive side effects, from loss of libido, severe brain fog, depression, lack of focus, loss of sensation in the tip of the dick, no morning wood, no arousal when I would be able to come. I wish everybody that is going trough this a lot of courage and strength, my story definitely shows that full recovery is possible. Most importantly don't give up, you are not alone!

Makes me think that anyone with a talent for writing, like Mitch (kidding), could and should write a book about this... Even a small essay. It's your duty if you witnessed this. Anyone witnessing this owes it to humanity to bear witness.

I took it for 4 months, barely no side effects. Then I mixed it with isotretinoin because of acne. For a short time I had an ed, but a few Days later the side effect were cone. So I dont know if i should start again when im off on isotretinoin.
