Oh wait!
I thought he was called clay taver
Ted is an incredible actor.
The reason Levine's career stumbled after one of the greatest performances of the decade is that Hollywood came under the influence of transvestites very similar to what Levine proposed. These are extremely vindictive people and they went for him.
BB was one of the most carefully researched characters both in the original book and by Levine. Modern ideas of transgender were only just evolving. It was cutting edge stuff and these guys really had their fingers on the pulse. Kudos.
To think he was “Captain” in Monk. That’s what you call an actor.
TLDR: I respect his acting. He seems like a cool dude. I just have another perspective to add. The male view of women Ted explains here does make perfect sense in regards to his research for Jame Gumb/Buffalo Bill. (Which is quite chilling in and of itself, when you think about it.) So anyway, if you aren't interested in a close reading of the male-centric POV he offered here, then don't read on. _____ "There are all types of levels of grey in human sexuality, and I think particularly male sexuality." Just bc men don't see (refuse to accept) women's "levels of grey" doesn't mean women don't have just as many levels of grey. Unless by "levels of grey" he just means sick, twisted, violent depravity. (Which would make sense, since that's what he was studying for the roll.) Then yeah, that is usually- not always- but usually more particular to men. _______ When explaining why the lady boy felt more powerful as a woman, he refers to: "the power that women have." What power? The power of sexual guiles? Please. Historically, if men (especially alpha men) didn't already lord all the power, then women (and lady boys) wouldn't have had to use sex as a means of survival, to begin with! Ted acknowledged the element of racism involved for the self described "Puerto Rican punk." Imagine how hard his life was that dressing and acting like a woman actually made his life feel easier. (Even with all the risks involved- the potential of being arrested, beaten, or even killed for impersonating a woman.) When that's a BETTER option, you know your life is HARD. Throughout most of human history, attractiveness and servitude have been the only "powers" women have had, and that's hit-and-miss, at best. Because men are fickle and quickly get bored with only one woman. Even so, men don't like women having any real power. That's why things like chastity belts and female circumcision were made. Its why marriage where men controlled all the assets and custody of the children were enforced. All to take political, financial, and sexual power away from women. Only very recently in history have custody and alimony laws changed to favor women. And a lot of men are VERY upset about it. They do NOT like women having any power. And that type of chauvinistic man doesn't like feminine men having any power, either. It's why trans women have historically been so abused and unprotected by the law. It's why prostitutes are charged, but not the Johns. It's why women are sl*t shamed for sleeping around while men are praised for it. It's why female victims of SA are blamed and the male perpitrators (from frat boys to supreme court justices) are protected. It's why SA tends to be swept under the rug until it finally reaches "it puts the lotion in the basket" levels of depravity. (And it's still swept under the rug even then, if the perpetrator just so happens to be a knight, a member of the royal family, or someone of that ilk.)
Shit
He’s awesome in Bullet as brother Lewis, lol
Although this actor is awesome.. whenever I see him in other movies I just expect him to slide in the line 'put the lotion in the basket !' lol
He seems chill
OMG!! THE FBI PLAYED HIM THE TOOLBOX TAPES!! 😮😮 what else could he mean by that? No one has ever been able to hear it from the public.
Among other things, Levine portrayed the best Starbuck in the history of "Moby-Dick" movies.
He is a very great actor !!
I just have one question about the Lady Boi dancer he talked to: Was she a great big fat person?
Dang, lifelong Monk fan here and never realized same actor.
A brilliant actor. An absolute stand out in silence of the lambs one of my favorite movies
Rusty nail calling candy cane.....
This damn patriarch where men feel more powerful impersonating women. And what's Ted's opinion on the whole Fredrica Bimmel situation?
It's true .
Why not just call it a crossdresser?
someone with very good taste has been doing ted blogs on tumblr as a result I've been on a levine tv movie marathon . when i watched monk it was because of shaloub and this man right here .why is him talking about birds so cute 🥰
Ted "I saw some sht" levine
I had no idea the captain of monk was buffalo bill.
One of the most underrated actors.....
Ted Levine as Buffalo Bill creeped me out a hell of alot more than Hannibal. If I was stuck in that pit I would have been able to float my way out because I would've been pissing myself so bad. It rubs the lotion................Nightmares!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just Sayin'.
Been trying to place his accent and I can’t place it??
He's just so fucking good in everything. It's like what if Charles Bronson could be more intimidating and hilarious? Not to mention that fucker made me fight back tears in Monk? Monk!?! That show had no business making me feel that. Watch the episode where he thinks his wife is cheating on him and you'll get it. Dude's a fucking legend.
Of course Buffalo Bill is a classic character, but another great Ted Levine role was as the warden in Shutter Island.
EXACTLY what I wanted to see. Ted is unbelievably attractive as well as talented.
How much more attractive is he in a suit made of human skin!
@@DANFORTHPAPE1 i dont think they actually showed him wearing the suit did they?
@@LusciousTwinkle They did. Go back and watch carefully. It's when he's putting makeup on.
@@DANFORTHPAPE1 Pretty sure he was only wearing a womans scalp as a wig. Seen this film many times and in that scene he has only a kimono on and he tucks his willy between his legs. The dress is shown on a tailors dummy although not in all versions of the film.
@@DANFORTHPAPE1 Seen it many times. He's wearing a women's scalp as a wig but no suit. He tucks his willy and it's his male body and a kimono....no suit. Have a look.
Raging Healy of The Problem Child Franchise. The Bow-Tie Griller, Snoat Meal with, Gale and Evelke Snoats. And Buffalo Bill in a Blue Brothers putting some Raging Healy Band members together. 4 whole barbecued chickens, 4pieces dry white toast. Oh, that's Buffalo Bill and Gale And Evelle Snoats. And a coca cola.
incredible actor
monk fans realizing that stotlemeyer was buffalo bill .there reaction is a credit to his acting ability .
I’d fk me
He was class in bullet
One of the best actors of this time....
Levine deserved a supporting Oscar nomination for that film, to be honest.
I put the lotion on my skin, I do this whenever I’m told just or else I get the hose again
He’s been around for decades ..real icon of film
Nice man..I know he found that part to was quiet distressing.
Buffalo Bill was the most Real villain i had ever seen !!👍😉😊☺️😌
I think, Ted's "Jame Gumb" / "Buffalo Bill" was a very convincing serial killer. I have mad respect for Ted's acting there.
He played a great role in bullet with Tupac shakur a crazy ex Vietnam vet
He’s such a talented actor if anyone wants to see him play another crazy role watch bullet with Tupac shakur that movie he actually killed that role
“Ohh wait…was she a great big fad person??” 😅
Why is Ted Levine not narrating audiobooks, they'd be awesome.
Stottlemeyer😊
Bosko!
Oh wait, was she a great big fat person
Cool fucking guy
