The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw conducts research in the Eastern Mediterranean since 1959. It operates Research Centers in Egypt, Sudan and Cyprus.
In recent years, it has coordinated over 30 projects in Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Cyprus, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Armenia. They involve archaeological excavations, conservation and restoration work, site management, and cultural heritage awareness work.

Abstract: The Phoenician pottery represents one of the most fascinating cultural phenomena of Antiquity. Rooted in ancient Levantine traditions, Phoenician pottery spread across the Mediterranean, where workshops in various coastal regions independently adapted Levantine prototypes. These workshops created new ceramic styles tailored to the socio-economic demands of their locales. This lecture aims to explore the nature of these new productions by analyzing the key aspects that characterize the Levantine centers which inspired them.

It's a shame there's no published ancient dna on Kerman's after dealing with so many burials!
As colleagues from our Bioarchaeology Lab tell us, essentially the lack of DNA is environmental in nature: the environment of Sudan is not ideal for long term DNA preservation. So while attempts have been made, there has just not been any solid success as yet for the Kerma period.

Very interesting. I would very much like to see a reconstructed model of the Mycenaean era Temple of Aphrodite near old Paphos, using some educated guesses of course. Was this temple first constructed around 1195 BCE?
