Hi! I'm Mel - husband, girl dad, and psychologist turned online creator.
As a current or future therapist, I'm here to help you build your private practice, create multiple income streams beyond clinical work, and build a life around your health and loved ones.
In 2015, a massive blizzard dumped 21 inches of snow and forced me to cancel 22 fee for service clients as we saved up for the 20% downpayment on our first home.
A few years later, our daughter was born 7.5 weeks early and needed another year of grueling physical therapy due to low muscle tone.
Both events made me realize I had to diversify beyond clinical work.
On this channel, I interview successful therapists in private practice and share the good/bad/hard lessons I've learned from building a podcast (1.8 million+ downloads; top .5% global podcast) and online course ($323k+ in revenue; 242+ students) since 2015.

So glad I caught this episode Melvin! Funny how course creation feels so overwhelming to me but I experience private practice to be a breeze. Congrats on returning to clinical work. I think you'll fill your day quickly (even if private pay), and will find the crisis / business aspects of it to be totally manageable.
