I hate fandom. Stupid ads and stupid honest trailers promotions :/

First of all you can create a Fandom account to block all ads. Secondly, the mobile website looks so bad because you are forcing the website to load its desktop version. The mobile version, while imperfect, looks much different and is readable

One of the admins of the wiki here, and I will say this was a nice video. I do completely agree that FANDOM has problems. As for the vandalism, it's a shame we have to but we tend to lock new pages due to how often they artract vandalism. The other issues are completely understandable, though (though I will say I've never seen the mobile website have such small text, it's quite big for me.)

First of all, you did a well job explaining your criticisms about fandom As a power editor myself (Mamoot The Power Editor) I understand the frustrations with this platform but I think it's best that we stay here due to none of us having the technical knowledge to migrate the wiki data. We will need an understandment how we can move the data to another website and convince all users that this is the new Wiki. We can probably get BBB to help us but that's up in the air and that won't fix the fact that sometimes new ideas in the wiki can be squashed down if some people see it as unnecessary, which is kind of sad when somebody has a new idea to add in a Wiki

I vote for Miraheze, as its basically just Fandom Wiki, but smart. FanSmart wiki.

I would suggest moving to the same thing that the Minecraft wiki uses, but as far as I’m aware, there is no dedicated discussions tab on that platform and talking with others a a big draw for me.

Speaking of vandalism, before Pongping was released in both DoF and MSM, during the time it was around early to mid 2022, there was a page as a placeholder that would be modified if Pongping was released, then one day, someone vandalized the title that the monster's name is "Twisaler". This was reverted back after a day or so.

I really hope that the BFDI wiki moves from fandom as well someday…

Personally here are my problems with the wiki: 1 - Number 2 2 - Number 3 3 - Number 4 4 - Number 5 5 - Number 6 6 - Number 7 7 - Number 8 8 - Number 9 9 - Number 10 10 - Ads Fun fact: If you type in a fandom url and replace it with “anti fandom” you will be taken to a version of fandom with no ads

As a Wiki editor, my main problem with the MSM Wiki is that the admins removed physical descriptions of all the Monsters from every page According to them, the descriptions were redundant since you can just look at the Monster AND they took up too much space, but 1. What if you can't look at the Monster? 2. Collapsables exist and are even used on this Wiki, so space isn't an issue Basically every other Wiki has physical descriptions for their characters, even the Wikis for games that aren't accessible to the visually impaired, so removing them was a really strange decision Also this video is good lol

The thing is, the vandalism doesn't happen because fans are constantly editing it, and to start vandalizing, the only thing you need is to log in and boom. You can already change it. This isnt even the main problem, the other one is fandom secretly changing some articles, which just sucks About the ads, fandom's website lag could possibly be a hint of ads playing in the background, even if this wasn't true, the ads are still a major problem since they are frequent and full of viruses, i once got not, 1, not 3, but FIVE ADS AT ONCE ON MY PHONE, some of them are even inappropriate. Also, there was a vandalism incident that changed potbelly's sprites to split peas from the game plants vs zombies, it was pretty funny, but it's proof of the website's flaws Please msm players, for your sake, stop using fandom

There is the BIGGEST issue with the wiki page which is the monsters orgins in which they SHOULD be based on like for Mammott is based on the abominable Snowman or Potbelly is based on a carnivorous plant for example.

I made a Fandom Wiki called Minecraft World, It's unproblematic, It only has one user (Which Is Me, The Burcreucrat / Admin), AND, It Is underrated and was safe from Corporate Greed.

3:30 I hate how Fandom added that stupid "Just for you" & "Popular Pages" bar at the bottom, it made the site completely unbearable for me.

Y'know, I think I have a whole different experience with Wiki Fandom due to the statements you made doesn't apply to me. 1. Ads aren't really a problem for me. Only appearing twice 2. The text is at a moderate size for mobile 3. Vandalism is absent 4. My phone performance is fine when I use the Wiki Fandom. Probably because my phone is a fairly recent model (2021) However, everyone's experience may be different compared to mine. So your statements may still be very correct for some out there

A lot of the wikis I know have already migrated many times, the most notable example being AVID migrating from Fandom, to Miraheze, to MediaWiki. It's almost like all the best wiki-hosting websites progressively worsen with each half-decade...
