Hi! We are Tina and Pieter from Belgium and we love putting on our hiking boots to explore the beautiful Scandinavian nature.
It gives us a feeling of ‘balance’ in a very stressful world.
But the word ‘balance’ means even more to us because I (Tina) had to live without it due to a bad medical treatment. For many years we weren’t able to go hiking in the mountains because of my constant dizziness. Until one day a renowned professor told me to challenge my brain to create new ‘wiring’. Instead of avoiding everything that made me sick, I started doing the exact opposite and after some challenging years it has finally started to pay off.
Although I will always have to be extra careful, we are back on track! Thanks to the ongoing support of my loving husband, we are both enjoying the mountains and their wildlife again.
Boots and Balance... go hand in hand!

Mysteries of Børgefjell National Park
Our goal for this hike is the karst area in Børgefjell National Park in Norway.
We start from a very desolate area at the border between Norway and Sweden but have to change our plans due to the swampy conditions. Soon we find ourselves in Sweden and hike an alternative route in search for a lost river.

Nice video from you.😊 This is just a friendly tip in case you or others don't know the rules. There are many people who fly without knowing this. Remember, in Norway it is forbidden to fly drones in national parks without special permission. Many have received hefty fines after publishing drone videos from national parks without such permission. I'm no drone police, but anyway you probably have the permission for Dovrefjell in order. I wish you a nice summer. 😊 You can find more information at the homepage of Norwegian Aviation Authority.

I’m a certified drone pilot and always check the local rules and safetofly.no to find out if it’s allowed to take off. In this case it was just outside the national park. This is an interesting topic for those of us who enjoy nature and outdoor life, we think. We have something in common there, and it's good to see that you follow the rules. Unfortunately, many people don't, either because they don't care or because they don't know the rules, as Here&There indicates. It can quickly affect the rest of us by introducing even stricter rules. When it comes to the national parks and the landscape conservation areas, each of them can have their own rules for drones and motorized traffic. We have applied for permission to fly drones and have been refused in some of them, and that must of course be respected. It is probably due to the degree of vulnerability for wildlife in particular. Most people do overlook Vesterålen as Lofoten is more renowned internationally. But, as you say, it's just as beautiful. As often is the case with tourism, some spots gets widely advertised, while true gems remain hidden and unexplored, only frequented by those in the know. Personally, I prefer it that way.
We totally agree with you. There are so many hidden gems. We revisited Vesterålen last summer and were once again impressed by its beauty. Those videos will come later. Greetings. Tina and Pieter.

@@alexdriebergen De rivier is idd te zien langs de weg. Het is een indrukwekkend gebied waar je door rijdt en er zijn een paar mogelijkheden om te parkeren. Het was een zalige vakantie 😉
