Zato can be played at an extremely high level, the problem is that the skill threshold required to use him effectively is also very high; you REALLY need an advanced understanding of all his mechanics to play him properly. Very much like Yoshimitsu in Tekken.

HC mains doing the most devious of pranks involving war crimes, genocide, and the worst acts imaginable because theyre a little silly. Axl mains who are able to wipe the entire timeline, but instead use their power to get borger because theyre chill like that. Both. Both are based.

I watched a vid explaining ggst lore. And when they got to Zato, oh boy. Like just hearing that he was some mid tier assassin and then used 1 spell. Got his shit rocked by Eddie and now is just Eddie’s bitch. Zato ruined Eddie’s life years ago and is just seeing how much more he can. Zato dies, comes back as basically a husk, remembers nothing, and is confused why some pretty blonde lady seems so weird around him and why Eddie doesn’t like her. The lore is so confusing, but if you learn it then you’ll see that pretty much every single character has such a good story.

Crappy Chaos is garbage. If I bring a gun to a swordfight who do you think's going to win most of the time? Worst addition to a fighting game ever and I've been playing for 20+ years. At least Elphelt had a kit that doesn't just rely on shooting.

LORE TIME So from what I understand, Mr. Zato over here had a girlfriend, Milia or something close to that, and she didn't want to be an assassin. That didn't happen, so she became one but was mad about it. As all this happened, Mr. Zato was becoming a MOTHERFUCKING POSSESSED CORPSE. And so Milia or whatever her name was killed him out of mercy. He then was resurrected as an emotionless husk with his pet Eddie. He now protects Milia as payment for how bad he acted when he was alive.

Guilty Gear’s story may be overly complicated but navigate the lore and you’ll find compelling and emotional stories
