Thank you - If I use rawhide lacing for the tabla strapping, do you know if the lacing should be wet when it is pulled though, like with some other drums? Thanks
Good work
Did it snap at the end of the video?
Sadly it did
Wat is the reason for the keys getting stuck ?
Hello, I'm getting same problem in my scale changer harmonium. When I press middle key the both sides keys comes up and makes noise which irritates me when playing harmonium. What should I do?

super helpful. gave me the confidence to fix my sticking keys myself!
Man, you are not playing, you are just screwing that poor instrument. If that poor thing had a hand, it would slap you real hard.
nice
Thanks Kalyan I watched all 5 episodes and learned so much from you about this instrument. I have heard that cord can be used as a medium to fix a head in place. I just wondered what cord would be best and whether you have ever used it yourself. The general opinion seems to be that cord needs less tightening to achieve good accurate head tension. Would you use cord and if not why? I need an easier re-heading method.
thanku so much... this happened to my brand new harmonium thanks
Paul N, for your tabla to be tuned to c# on one strap, your tabla should be tuned to a# or b depending on the size of the pegs
If I want my tabla to be C#, what p-itch should it be on the first day before i put in the blocks? (to allow for stretching etc)
nice gloves... where did you get the puri?
excellent video! this just helped me fix my harmonium...thanks so much!
Thanks a lot for the lesson
thanks, can you also show how to set the coupler which is under the keys please
just what I needed! Thanks for posting!
I just bought one of James's old sitar and getting it repaired!
I'm a sitarist and part of the new generation. I even worked at Ali Akbar for a few years.

Dalbergia nigra (endangered) is best known as Brazilian Rosewood. Dalbergia latifolia is known as Indian Rosewood or sonokeling. It can be found in tropical America, Southeast Asia, and Madagascar. Dalbergia sissoo is also known as Indian rosewood or Shisham. It is native to India and southern Iran. The heartwood is a dark brown while the sapwood is a lighter brown. Now you know!
instead of the hook tool he uses, it is quite useful to, instead, use the tabla hammer or a strong long screwdriver. insert the shaft under the strap and now you can pull with both hands, one on either side of the strap. i've seen many tabla makers use this technique. ... anyhow, this guy know what's talking about :)
Hello Joss, The black keys on my harmonium are really stiff, hard to depress. How can that be fixed. Appreciate your help. Thank you kindly.
@diabolusX9 that means the syahi is shit other wise its ok to press it
um can i use a 300 lb steel ring for as a kundal so this way it you wouldnt have to worry about the kundal being loose
Great series of instruction. Nicely done. Relaxed and thorough. Now I'm going to try it! I'm sure I'll learn plenty!
@DeadlyDreamerX Not me!! haha i still have much practice to do. But i play my sitar downtown a lot so I can show everyone that such an instrument exists haha.
Dude u shud never press the syahi, or the black spot. It might loosen the black spot.
