OzCharge Jumpstarter Teardown 12v 1000A
Nice, but would have been good to see how to replaec the cells. I pulled mine apart to that level, but then couldn't get the board off. Undoing the screws o nthe board didn't release it. So I couldn't test or replace individual cells.
You positive you didn't hook up to a Constant Power? I cant see how it could Draw from an Ignition Sauce when turned off!
I just installed my Kings 25A DC-DC charger and found the same problem. What did confuse me was that after the engine was switched off, the charger continued charging the Li-ion battery at 24amps. It took a while to stop. I was worried it would flatten the starter battery.
I’ve just done some tests. The charger takes between 1:15 and 1:30 to connect after the engine starts. That’s with and without the ignition sense wire connected. It takes between 1:30 and 2:00 to disconnect after the engine is stopped. It made no difference whether the sense wire was connected or not. My car doesn’t have a smart alternator. I had a quick look with the solar panels and it seems the charger takes a similar length of time to connect but disconnected very quickly when I walked across in front of the panels. Not good on a day when clouds can block the sun for short periods. I’ll test more fully tomorrow when it’s sunny.
I tested it today with my solar panels. I was right, it takes about 90 seconds to connect. If a shadow passes across the panel, solar charging ceases immediately and it takes another 90 seconds to restart. Not good when clouds are scudding across the sky.
I got the same vacuum and it’s 15 years old and it’s not gone bye-bye
thanks so much bro !!
Thanks mate
Great explanation. Thank you so much for posting this informative video. Do you know where in the circuit the constant current, constant voltage logic is or how exactly it works?
should the lights go solid green when car is running? Mine constantly flash
When car is running, the battery light will stay solid and alternator light will pulse either slow or fast. If it pulses slow then its just giving floating charge and fast blinking means its charging at full.
Thanks!
Hello, I would like to buy the fan from that blower from you if you still have it/ are not doing anything with the parts, are you willing to sell? A few of my fan blades broke and Kobalt does not make a replacement. They no longer make this model and the new version is like $250.00 and are known to burn out their throttle trigger switches.
I have a suspect controller too. Cannot see a blown part, but mower runs eratic. Either runs on its own or a little on the trigger bar after left for a while and then goes back to running on its own.
Love your work Bob
Oh. Google said this was the RS version. Mines not a metal cover.
Ah the exact info I was looking for. Thanks a lot!
Not true vanon battery? true Vanon batteries use Samsung or lg batteries
36v 16ah battery which charger use sr?
But if it is not connected, will the solar panel charge the second battery or it will stay on standby mode. Because I feel like my solar panel is staying on standby all the time (and it is well connected
in standby mode if the aux batt is low on charge then it will start charging if the watts from solar panel is above 15w/ 1amp output (less hen that the solar light will keep blinking). That's my observation from a week old install.
It will have balancing... It has to have it because without it, it would risk overcharging one or more cells. The balancing would be the simple type where it just applies a load to any cells that are at 4.2V before other cells. That's what the heatsink is for.
thankyou! i was about 30min away from trying to wire the blue wire into a cig plug for no reason.
I ride recreationally on exact same battery, Hailong brand. No issues, no heat on the sides, long range, hills, offroad👌
I found a controller that looks to be the same as this one. It comes with a motor and I found it on eBay
blue wire on dcdc chargers is for smart alternators if you don't have a smart alternator don't connect it.
except that kings on their own youtube channel tell you to connect it to a cig plug and plug into 12v so it can turn off when accessories is switched off even without a smart alternator. So its hard to get the right info.
@@cmchi0 you would want it on even when car is off so it charges the solar. Going to wire a kings dcdc for son in-law in the next week so if it doesn't work as should without blue wire not connected i can always wire it to a cig plug thanks for the tip.
@@micktaylorwolfcreekmechanical Ive had it in for a week without the blue wire, and today i wired the blue to a cig plug and plugged it in, seemed like it started charging almost straight away. Good luck.
@@cmchi0 I have had it installed for about a week seems to be charging good of solar. Haven't been able to check if its charging of main battery as I'm waiting on a new alternator to be delivered. I think I'm just going to wire the blue wire in to the accessory box under the bonnet anyway. The dcdc charger in my 4wd works fine without the blue wire plugged in same with other brands i have installed dont need the blue wire if there is no smart alternator but looks like i might just plug it in on this kings dcdc charger as its recommended.
@@cmchi0 I have also noticed that some dcdc chargers will flatten your main/crank battery with that blue wire connected to a accessory fuse if you leave the accessory keyed on in your car say like if you turn your car engine off but park up and leave your radio on they will draw 25a/40a/50a what ever size your dcdc charger is. Im going to test if the kings charger does this.
It’s good for matches lol.
Hey I need help with some hall wires I don’t have any on my current motor and the one I’m getting has them what should I do can I run the motor without hall wires
You will need a motor controller that can run in sensorless mode. Once you have that, just dont connect the hall wires. If your original motor was brushless as well and didnt have hall sensors, your controller is probably sensorless.
Really helpful thanks
Goodday! What is the top speed?
Hey my friend I know it's been awhile since this video but if you still have any of that I would love to have it an see what I can do with it an thank you for the video 2966 slate creek Rd Grundy Virginia 24614 if you don't care to help me out I need something to do here I am in a nursing home so anything to pass off time an hope I am not being a bother but thanks again for the video
Hey Bobby! I am sorry to say but I got rid of the lathe a while ago. I find that in Australia I can get pretty cool things to tinker with from recycling centres such as The Green Shed... I am sure there is an American version of that. Let me know how you go! 😁
very well explained, thanks by the way do you know why a step wave ups is making like a sparking noise only when inductive loads are used with it?
Great video. I will do mine tomorrow. One question: my battery has two transit plugs on the new battery. One red and one black. Do I remove both? Thanks 👍🏻🙏
I am sure you have already done it, but definitely remove both protective caps when installing!
I've had two rad batteries, one since 2019, and that one got sold with my bike with 3800 Mi on it, in working condition. My current 48 volt rad battery that I'm using on my bike right now, has a documented 12k (!) Miles on it, with only a slight loss in range, after all these years. I ride my bike a minimum of 5 Mi a day, and I got to tell you other than being through three or four Chargers that burned out from getting caught in rain storms, this is one of the most reliable battery powered thing I've ever owned. It's absolutely amazing that the Samsung cell, ( greenish blue) along with a fairly large circuit board BMS, has managed to run trouble free for over12,000 mi, and still going strong. I am amazed by this performance. Thank you, Rad bikes for a fantastic product.❤Rad💥😏👍💯
Thanks, finally someone has shown a filter change in a 2013 Barina, I haven been searching for days
18650GA is Sanyo battery, 3450mAh and 10A, Colour is also correct :P but question is: is it oryginal Sanyo?
Great video!
I rekon its exactly how its intended to be used. All the tiny lathes are known to be a bit crap , the hobbiest bit refers to the hobby being the continuous battle to get the dam thing to work for a while. I made one from plywood ,it was not good but slightly better than that in my biast opinion. I applaud your efforts ! The square peg in a 3 jaw chuck is priceless.
I have an early revision of a Snapper 82V leaf blower. It has an infinite speed trigger. On max trigger it'll pull 1000W from the battery pack, and push my arm back. So, be careful. (I came here looking for a part number for the motor so I could look up a spec sheet.)
My battery is getting warm. It looks like this one 😢

If you slow down and practice they ain't bad for $160
Hey mate, did you end up havimg any luck repairing or modifying this unit to run for longer? Would be very interested to see how its done. (Baattery swap is easy enough but im very interested in how you'd modify it) Picked one up for really cheap of marketplace to keep my 3d printer going during small blackouts and I wanted to see why its not powering on when its not plugged in to 240v, beeps once and screen displays "650VA" then immediately powers down when you release the button. Will check my batteries and use this video as a guide. Cheers heaps it was very informative!
Sounds like the battery was dead in your UPS!
@BobsEVGarage it was indeed the battery! Picked up another one from Bunnings for $40 and followed your guide here to install it. UPS is running perfectly now and works great to keep my 3D printer going during small outages! Thanks heaps!! 😁😁
Im havjng issues with the on and off switch. Was wondering if thered any way to fix it. It wont turn on and constantly on.
I need just the fan blade part, I can't seem to find it
Same here. The fan blades on mine are all sheared off. Any luck funding a replacement?
@@jamesmurawski44 nope, let me know if you do. Frustrating that I have perfectly good leaf blower I can't use do to the blade coming lose and shreding itself up. Everything else works great.
Cool to see the internals. A quality battery?
Lol when you cringe at yourself 🤣🤣🤣 you did a great job, thank you both from me and Nina 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Another shitbox badged as a Holden!! No wonder they are extinct pushing this shit on people.
More importantly, what did the Label say the battery was in terms of Amp Hours of current and voltage. Often the sellers of battery packs engage in liar's poker on specs.
Good
Nice video, my soft start unit failed so I've bypassed it. Everything seems ok, I was worried the start current might be too high but audibly it seems ok. Time will tell.
I might add the soft start board was very different to yours, no heatsink just a fairly complex circuit board.
Strange! I hope it works well for you! Would be good if ozito released a brushless motor version
what did you end up doing with that blower motor? I made a homemade air conditioner with mine during the hurricane when we had power out I got bags of ice and put in the cooler and then use the motor to blow over the ice and blow out a hole but nonetheless just curious if you did anything with it or if it's just sitting around like mine is now my room looks like a junkyard with all the stuff I take apart and build things with
Hey mate! Its sitting on the shelf at the moment. Im sure ill find a project though for it...
