Hi, how do these stand against the AKG N5005? I want to buy my first IEMs and I'm considering one of these or if there's any other recommendation in a $150 budget you can suggest I'll appreciate this

Thanks for this really good review. I have the cp100 but the material makes my ear canals itchy almost instantly within like 30 seconds. Is the cp100+ the same material? Are they itchy (and is the cp100 itchy for you)?

An excellent review on one of my most cherished single DD suckers. Just missing part II on sources and cables, since those JVCs are extremely picky re. what you hook them up to, at least to my ears after extensive A/B'ing. Anyway, subbed & keep it up!

I just got the cp240 the flanges. They are nice especially if you need bass.

Men that design is such a classic even in 2024 it looks so fantastic they really fucked up that tuning is not bad by all means missed opportunity

Very nice and detailed review. Have had mine for a few days. Lots of issues with the mmcx connectors. They simply refuse to cone apart. Never had issues on Shure products and Shure cables wont fit Akg but AKG will fit Shure. N5005 is clearer and more spacious than the Shure KSE846 but the Shure has better bass and vocals imho. Said another way, I never wanted to put the bass filters on the Shure but had to on the AKG

UP scaling does NOT add anything to the file. In an Ideal world with Ideal devices, there will be no difference between a 16/44k and 32/768k, but this is reality an clock and computing errors are a thing, so the more resolution, the more those errors are kept in check. That is why in 50-100$ range resolution makes a world of difference, but in 15-30k DAC you literally can't tell, because the difference in chip error is so minute compared difference in mastering that in a practical sense it is not even there.

I'd take material quality into account as well, because, when it comes to ear tips, longevity is very, very important.

These are infinitely better than any iems by shure or sennheiser at this price range.

The 155s fit the Truthear Zero and Red perfect, well it seams once I get them in there, they stay longer.

Been seeing some shade thrown at these IEM's. I love them finally a review. That I agree with I agree with your take using a hiby r6 gen 3. These sound amazing on ab mode balanced out. Using a custom 4.4mm cable from allibaba.

The volume control on my akg 5005 cable just fell apart after 2 weeks of use. Not a biggie if you don't lose any parts that fall out of it when the back cover comes off (the tiny iOS-Android switch). Two drops of super glue and everything is as new, but for a set that went for $1k initially that is a problem.

You can get them for $200 now. Picked up a pair for gaming because I'm tired of the weight on my head. These will be a nice upgrade, even though they cost me half what my old headset cost.
