Episode #8 with Active Fueling Nutrition Coaching- An Ultrarunning Podcast
Brian with no earphones... Changes 🎉
So.... I am gathering that in U. S. There are crazy long mountain trails that constantly have people hiking them... That's amazing.. Coming from England we have a few trails that are statement but nothing nothing like these terrains you experience.. I am heading out to Wales to do some different terrains but again we don't have the magnitude or the huge hike scene, it's really lovely to experience it vicariously through these podcasts.. Thankyou for the window in ❤
A really beautiful video.. Top presenting 🎉
I have heard this about bodies adapting before, humans are awesome x
Fantastic athlete x
Fake it to you make it is pretty much my life mantra and it works (mostly 😂)
Brian - running 240 miles is bad for your knee! But seriously - good luck to you both! I'm def FOMO right now but eager to hear all about the adventure once you are back :)
hell yeah!
Check out the full episode if you are curious as to who inspires Tara herself - the mentor she refers to!
Great chat with an incredible and inspiring athlete!
So glad I found Simmons chanel which led me to this one.. Always a pleasure to listen to 🎉
Great episode!
Love all of these people❤❤❤
Glad to share this amazing adventure with you - can't wait for the movie to be ready but hopefully this conversation gives some insights as to the ups and downs of the race of a lifetime!

I lost my son to cancer. Three years later, it still feels like he just died. Life will never be the same. And the pain will never end.
I'm sorry for your loss. ❤
I'm sorry for your loss. ❤
That's so true - a 100 miles almost never feels like you are in a rush in comparison. Losing a minute waiting for the portapotty seems like a big deal in these MTB!
sorry for your loss DeShawna. I hope changes to road infrastructure can be implemented to protect cyclists, in arizona and on reservations. I'm a recent car owner, but have been hit several times by cars while biking (including needing a titanium wrist).
Hey I was pretty accurate on how I was feeling at the release of this episode!
narcissism is ugly
fascinating topic about the massive infrastructure required for a 200miler. As for Brian, the background looks to have indigenous aesthetic. Is that his cultural background?
Just checking in here to confirm that I am not a pro runner. 😅 Thanks for having Will on, it was a great listen!
10 in sight ... what an accomplishment.
Seriously! Next year will be special :)
Much respect for you guys
Thanks :)
Crying with joy that such positivity exists in such a beautiful strong woman, what a woman ❤
Thank you so much. ☺️💞💞💞
Great chat - I was so glad that we all found our way across that finish line!
Thank you for Sharing your story Lorena Rubio you are an inspiration. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for listening. 🙏☺️💞
Fantastic Interview!!!
Thank you. ❤
She is truly such an inspiration!!!!! I have known Lorena for 30 years and she is a force to be reckoned with!!!! One of the strongest souls I know. Honored to be loved by her ❤
I'm so glad I ran into her by pure coincidence. She's great :)
Thank you both so much. 💕💕
Zoë is the best! Good luck at Leadville
Simon is real good at really wild shit.
Very interesting and yes , Zoe raises a great and valid point whereby we do self congratulate (rightly)when we sort the recycling .. I opted out of tees a long time ago and I keep kit untill it dies on me and I only buy secondhand work dresses BUT yes there is more and it really is true we can forget that .
The Dream!
The Scottish winter!!! But no midges which is a bonus x
Ah, just listening to you saying the same thing Simon 😂
I think our version of tylenol might be panadol or hedex.. Its not an nsaid but paracetamol based.. I have always been told no nsaids for running because of damage but paracetamol is considered a good medicine.. Its not strong enough to mask a significant injury but it does help with pain x
Massively Inspiring 🎉
Just a thought, we talk about pulling out because mentally, emotionally we just lose the oomph but interestingly even though at those moments we are unaware there is a physical factor, oftentimes it seems that we do know on a subconscious level as it seems an injury or illness pops up shortly after... That doesn't excuse a total lack of motivation but it's often the mind tells us before the body does, I guess it's figuring it all out holistically 😂
Wow, just wow 🎉
I really enjoy these podcasts.. Thankyou so much both of you for taking the trouble to put them out there.. Its a really good format 🎉
Thanks for listening!!
Love the fact that you both just kinda 'let's run grand canyon' 🎉
Had a great time with Simon and Nora at the Tahoe race as well as a fun run from Tuolumne down into Yosemite Valley and back the weekend before. Loving the podcast. Great job.
What Gavin does is absolutely crazy! Best of luck to him for the alaska adventure!
Great episode. Thank you Simon for asking the science proof questions. I struggle with how many people promise great things, but there is either no proof or any science behind what the claim is. In a past episode when you both talked about the UESCA coaching certifications it was nice to hear that there needs to be more than just one data point to prove a claim of benefit. 🎉

I could listen to Tamira talk all day long, she speaks so well and puts her words in such a clear concise form.. As a Brit I love that accent.. . What a superb R. D..
So great that we are getting this insight! Thank you Brian, Simon and Tamira.
I was so glad she took time to do this. I think it will help a lot of people have a smoother day. And Brian and I goal here was really just to help spread the info - we're both very close to leadville and hope more people can have a great race experience.
@@runningwithsimon 100%
It sounds like the trail race equivalent of Glastonbury festival.. Listening to Tamaras logistical conundrum regarding population other than competitors and event folk, it sounds as though the event is in safe hands 🎉
It's very impressive how expodentially more complex it gets with increasing number of runner. It's impressive that they can run these - and sure there are some mishaps - but there's a reason why most other 100 miler are ~200-300. And we didn't talk much about it - but the mountain bike race is even crazier. More riders. More crew. More dramatic crashes - there's a huge need for emergency vehicle and such. I've seen some bad crashes on those, and in these, time is a factor.
Did the race last week and was sad to not see the book but! Ordered it after the race and it met me back home in Ohio when I arrived! 6 chapters in and I’m loving it great work Cole!
I ran Candice's Orcas Island 50 and it was brutal.
