This movie was not really based on a true story. Some of the elements have happened in the past, but not all in one case. Never trust the Coen brothers. It is never revealed why Jerry wanted money. I choose to believe that he was not in debt; he just wanted money. BTW Frances McDormand won an Oscar for her performance.

PLEASE consider watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Another Jim Carrey Dramedy with a fantacy/sci-fi element...but it's still very, very different. My favorite movie, actually. (Truman Show is my 2nd fav. movie, the first is Eternal Sunshine). I don't even care if you film yourself watching it, or not... everyone should see Eternal Sunshine once in their adult life.

Loved this reaction. It really showed adult grooming so well. The guilt, sometimes complicit because he wanted to impress him so much, then being broken down by the praise and criticism of his work. Keeping him dangling. And his desires changing. My male friend was raped and one of the hardest things for him to reconcile with was that he got an erection while being raped. Like the body responds to stimuli regardless of how it's delivered, but it made him feel so angry and shamed. Such a complex issue adult grooming. I'm glad they showed him staying after the assault. So many assaults aren't as violent as we see on TV but still so damaging, and unwanted and brutal.

It's been a good series of reactions, but this one you slightly missed why he acted the way he did. This is a masterpiece in trauma response from all sides. It leads to the most strange decisions but it is people trying to make sense of their abuse and find some control.

At the end Donny isn’t going to start stalking the bartender. He is realizing that anyone…even him…could find themselves in the same situation as Martha. He is also noticing that he finds comfort in her complements, just like he was a comfort to her bc he reminded her of the stuffed animal. They are extremely alike, he internalizes his pain and trauma while Martha externalizes hers.

This genre is called Atom Punk. Like Steam Punk, it's based in the future that the people of a different era dreamed of, in this case, the 1950s.

I’d recommend Fallout 3,New Vegas and Fallout 4… in that order. 3’s graphics are oldish but still reasonable,huge world and great story.. New Vegas is a slight graphical improvement and its story is regarded by a lot of fans as the best in the series,4 is the best looking and also a decent story.

He wasn’t losing it. If you look at the closeups of the papers on the wall, it includes a line from the voiceover in the script for episode 4, about Darrien. He’s not just obsessing, he’s writing the show. Also, fun fact, in the script for this episode, Donny has a kitchen knife in his jacket pocket when he goes to see Darrien. He was going to stab him.
