I have never needed one, my Proxxon does all of my heavy lifting. This was the first time I was working with foam that didn't fit it.

Do you mean the wooden panels? If so I didn't, they are Artists Wooden Canvas'. Readily available, cheap & make the process easier & quicker. If you mean the stone work & roads, it's just cut foam & very thin cork sheets.

@@sheolmtv9877 Just cut XPS foam, then shake them about in a tub full of stones to texture them.

I'm not overly keen on the whole 'glamour shots ending' as you've been watching build through the video & they about the build not the painting. I also find ending the videos difficult verbally as I'm not comfortable with the whole like share subscribe routine. Plus the way that RUclips operates with the suggested video at the end from a editing point of view, I don't like just leaving the last frame hanging around for 15-20 seconds, as a viewer I find that lazy & because we can choose the timing that those appear I try & time it so they pop up as my video cuts. Then there are also retention issues, another reason I'm not keen on glamour shots. The moment a viewer knows the video is ending they leave & often don't see the end screens so don't see related videos. My videos that cut tend to have better CTR rates on end screens.

@@WulvenKraft It's extreamly abrupt the way the vids end though. Abruptly and jagged actually.

@@Boonedale Maybe, but it is worth knowing your are talking about a video from a year ago & all the experience I have editing is on RUclips. 16 Videos isn't many & I am learning with every one.

They are the very same templates with very minor modifications to suit this project. That's why I printed the paper version. You could very easily do the design work just using the paper templates to see where you would want to make adjustments. That last paragraph has made my day!

O also make sure you mostly build to the centre with at least an inch or two from the edge so you have some small to large thoroughfares between if two buildings are placed next to each other... though i do have some pieces that but up building to building making longer "streets" with no chance of cover unless you run further which works out well too for "realism"

I do something similar but I'm restricted by size. I use Artists Wooden Canvas to build my boards. I use A1 & design them in such a way that I use them in multiple ways. I'd love to use 2x2ft but they are very difficult to buy here & I don't have the space to build them myself. There's a video from a year ago.

O yeah mate I've binge watched ya shit haha great vids xoxo hahhahha Yeah I usually use a 8/10mm MDF for mine obviously you're like straya I'm guessing we have our tabletops chipboard usually, 1800x2400 so I get the mdf in 200x200 or 200x600 etc etc and place those on top of the tabletop. But I'm lucky enough to have a shed dedicated to nerd sh*t hahaha

@@nunyabusiness7001 I'm no Bogan or a Yank 🤣 I looked at MDF for my boards but canvas boards can be just as cheap, ready made & built for hanging on a wall, easy storage.

I'm definitely a bogan hahahahahaha But yeah use what ya use I got nothing against the canvas boards just cheaper for me to get mdf and build my terrain on top of that hahaha

I don't like bogging others down in details that don't really matter. Packing polystyrene, expanded or not, is still polystyrene to most.

It isn’t called expanded for nothing. Without the clear and proper distinction you wouldn’t know what glues and paints are compatible for instance. Try adding buoyancy to a model boat with polystyrene, instead of using the expanded variety. Of course the details are important, where would your videos be without details? Why do you think we have data sheets for all manner of materials etc. If it’s Polystyrene to most then it’s because of people like you spreading misinformation.if you’re worried about ‘bogging people down’ then you’re assuming that your audience is incapable of explanation, or thick.

Damn it missed that! That's one thing I'm always sure to check for when editing. That said, I do put things in every video, sneak peeks to upcoming projects, pop culture references etc.

Aye, I've learnt recently that I need to be working on a few projects at a time, they each have a tendency to influence each other.

Personally I like a mixture of both & the sawdust has the added advantage of never coming off. These days I put fiber flocking over the top of sawdust flocking.
