Great tutorial, but I was wondering how to make a simple toggle switch just on XLua. I know how to do it in FlyWithLua, but I am having trouble running FlyWithLua because of other plugins. So I wanted to use XLua only. My command works, but when I press a button, the system I am turning on goes on and off many times and stops at a random position. I flywithlua this doesn't happen, but I wanted to use XLua for the reason I mentioned.

Is LUA better than using Python (in my case attached to a hotkey button press on an Elgato Stream Deck)

This is a great helicopter but I have an issue when landing it. When I reduce the collective to descend there is a point where the cyclic becomes ineffective. Meaning I can’t use it to climb. To get back control of the cyclic I have to raise the collective adding more power. I have not experienced this in any other helicopter?

Great heli, unsure what I doing wrong but after a few minutes of flight all the warning lights go off and I have no engine. I know it's probably something I'm not doing right.

Where did you get the air tractor plane?

I just came across this series yesterday as I want to write custom commands for the ZIBO 737 to shorten up the pre-flight. I have taken(and had to withdraw) a couple of Python classes so I get this!!!! Very similar! I cannot wait to get going with it! Thank you very much, I made a box and exported it successfully to x-plane but I think the backface culling is active, when I open the box cover, the bottom side is invisible, What can I do to make the bottom of the box visible, is there a way to make the fave of the object double sided using blender?, Thanks and regards.

Hi there! great video! I was wondering if it would also be possible to create a LUA script to tweak the aircrat behavior in flight, in particular, to produce the ADVERSE YAW effect, which for what I´ve researched is not well modelled in Xplane by default, and that means that you don´t see the need to use the rudder pedals to make corrections and get the COORDINATED TURN. Would it be possible to produce this effect?

I did the same thing to make my texture in paint and then copy it to objects folder of aircraft. But, when I try to load the texture from the ac3d, the png file that I made does not show. What could I do for this?

does this also apply for xtlua?

Big S300CBi fan here as well and largely for all the reasons you stated in your excellent video. Although nowhere near as adept as you at flying it I believe I am on the right track based upon what you've described as being helpful to you in getting a handle on this aircraft. I have been using the Bella Coola strip same as you going back and forth in more of a zig-zag than straight line:). I also found that working the hover has been quite beneficial overall in gaining some measure of control of the S300CBi and other helos in X-Plane. I had enormous problems with the Nimbus Huey UH-1 but after over a week of wrestling with the S300CBi when I went back to take a run at the Huey it was a heck of alot easier to fly. Thus the use of small helos for training seems the way to go in sims as in real life and is a testimonial to the flight modeling in X-Plane and of course the talent of the creators of these excellent helos for X-Plane.

Hi and thanks for your tutorials, I´m trying replicate your timer function but it not work in my case. FWL debug showing that I´m trying to perform arithmetic on global "onesecond" (a nil value). I´m not replicate exactly your code, but I try to put your timer functions between playsound (S1) and playsound(S2) calls. I have 60 crew wav files which are played based on detarefs, but I need some method how to start play next wav after previous fully finnish. I have now in excel table length of each wav and your method seem to me quite suitable, I started in small just with two files to check the function, but dev console showing soundtimer 0.0235478 (static number - it not counts like the one in your video) and second sound never play. If I comment a soundtimer related lines, both files start to play simultaneously. As I have already for two years a permaban on org forum for mentioning and criticizing org admins censorship of SSG support forum from constructive criticism, I can not start a topic in FWL section of forum. JUST LOVE YOUR TUTS MATE. a million thanks. i guess what it takes is configuring one's brain into laminar thinking upfront, colaborating with its i-pod style matrix interface logics and not get upset when things don't work lol. the answer must always be somewhere. Let me put 'adding weapons that actually work' on my wishlist in case you find the time to do a next tutorial. if you look for a real project please let me know.

Great video, new to x-plane Lua scripting, learning a lot. I bought the x-plane-11 from steam to simulate free-floating canard which keeps constant incidence with the free stream between certain given AOA limits. I created a misc wing at front of the main wing, but I could not figure out how to make the canard adjust parallel to free stream between +13 and -13 angle of attack. I am trying to get the dataref's for the misc wing but could only find dataref's for control surfaces on the misc wing. does anyone know if "free-floating canards" can be simulated in x-plane-11 or am i just wasting my time.
