Welcome back to another Luci adventure-repair! As you may know, we took Luci on a "little" drive to the Peak District and our Double Six needed some love. In this video, you'll follow me along as I fix not just the one fuel injector that seems to be leaking ever so slightly, but all 12. It's always better to be safe in cases like this, because we don't like car fires! Below, you'll find a step-...

This was beautiful
@@motodork thanks! Sadly for sale if you're after something special to run around in!
@@Aston_Keeper well, I’m in Kentucky so I’m a little far away. However, I do have a friend who lives in the UK in Pickering. I suppose he could keep it for me. Where can I see the advertisement for the sale?

Grace, Space, Pace. Back when Jaguar knew wtf they were doing.
Very useful 👍
I forgot to say, about 2 years ago, I also bought a venting kit for my DB9, perfect again.
Great bit of kit, about 3 years ago my Vantage suffered horrendous condensation, I searched for a solution and found a lot of information on Pistonheads, the AM Upgrades venting kit seemed to constantly come up with excellent reviews so I bought one, it was/is the best upgrade I have ever done, nice clear, brighter headlights, perfect. Thanks for the video Aston Keeper.
....as someone who (summer) dailys a V12 XJSC in Northern BC Canada with the nearest town a 210 mile round trip, nothing will go wrong if properly sorted. . . . . . . ....most , most of the time.
Your engine mounts are fucked,
Unsubscribed as zero new content in 10 months.
'promosm'
My Aston constantly had condensation, looked awful plus it failed the MOT 3 years ago due to heavy fogged lights on the day. I bought and fitted (Very easy) the AM Upgrade venting kit, clear ever since, best upgrade I ever bought. PS - brill video Aston Keepers.
How much was it?
It was about 2k, which was good for a 4.2 with 20" wheels. I changed the wheels, rear shock bush, Evap sensor, top hose, sump gasket, full service and then sold it for about 2150 😂
@@Aston_Keeper A 'Wheeler Dealer ' type prophet😁 I really want one but don't was too waste too much. Going to see one for £2k with a view to a family mechanic sorting it out if needed.
Fitted same set myself, excellent quality, works brilliantly.
Excellent tips love things like this like lambourghi indicators are the same as a fords and 700 pounds cheaper
Why did you bother to buy Aston Martin if you're a cheap fuck
If one can afford a Rapide S then they shouldn't be worried about spending £400 extra on new pads all round
I'd rather be able to offer a choice of compounds, and pass on any saving to the customer, if it means people come to me for a fair option, I'm happy with that!
@@Aston_Keeperright too repair🏋🏼
Considering it is an English ride… everything could go wrong.
Jaguar's and Land Rover's in videos are always worthy of subbing to a channel!
Great video for the Jag/Daimler lover. Great to hear the history of the V12 and to watch the faults and the fixing of the injector pipes and lights. I’ve had 3 XJ6’s… loved them all. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks! The daimler is now (sadly) for sale on car and classic!
Great vid! love the xk8/xkr (x100), drive it daily, for 6 years. Btw, what is the name of that awesome tune in the end? Enyone knows? Shazam could'nt find it
Let me talk to my better half who edited it and see if she can find it. It's always copyright free material so I may have a link somewhere!
@@Aston_Keeper Thnx!
Мой самый любимый автомобиль,он прекрасен!
Was this the last video on the XK8?
Frustratingly, yes! There's a fair few more videos sat awaiting editing, but the biggest update is that I've run out of funds. We are off for our second race of the year and that's taking mega time and £ unfortunately! But we'll get the rest of the vids sorted soon!
@@Aston_Keeper Thanks for the update, I’m subbed now so see you soon.
Everybody nowadays is in a big hurry squeezing the horses. Dangerous but yourself done the right thing wait it out fantastic classic cars at the beginning thank you.
I passed my driving test 1985 my driving instructor told me you control the car if you let the car control you then the trouble starts good luck enjoy yourself.
Yes precisely, you've got to take the ego out of driving! Intending on having fun at first, we're in a guest category for the first race anyway so it's more about learning the ropes and taking onboard some feedback!
What a waste of time watching this see nothing
Nice production quality and pieces to camera. I have just bought an XK8 myself so will be watching to see what you get up to and deal with.
Hi, started this job yesterday everything out and stripped down (soldering iron works well) fitting new hoses today, thinking on using clamps (jubillee clips) ?? Did you? and is there a method for cleaning the ports? Any suggestions, advice would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Terry
The trouble is jubilees can get loose, do you have the collets that came with the kit? Otherwise I'd use crimps over jubilee clips. Which ports do you want to clean?
@@Aston_Keeper Thanks for your reply, crimps good idea if I can't reuse the old collets. What I mean by ports ( may be wrong terminology) hole where I removed injectors, not that dirty but a little grime around edge.
@@tpsroofing if you have a vac that can stop the dirt going in the holes, use a rag with some brake cleaner or something similar
@@Aston_Keeper Thanks
The V12 series 3 is a proper cruiser car , love it
Cold start ... I could smell that through my screen. The auto-choke is always rather generous when cold. I adore my Series III 92 DD6. The best thing about the car is how you feel driving it. Close the door with that satisfying clunk, drink in the "Jaguar smell", sink into what can only be described as an armchair and enjoy the silence, safe in the knowledge that you have effortless power on-tap when you need it. I wanted one of these since I was a child and I'm privileged to own one
You are absolutely right. It's the one car we have that is without a doubt a keeper!
@@Aston_Keeper I've always had a soft spot for Regency Red but I'm very happy with mine in Jaguar Racing Green.
Camp chaos chronicles had a good technique for removing the rubber hose from the injector. A soldering iron to melt the rubber and not disturb the metal.
I like that! Good thinking!
Now we're talking fantastic to see the old classic cars thanks for sharing 👍.
Looking forward to seeing how this project develops. Thank you.
What a great machine someone will love it. Thank you for this content i follow this channel your husband is a knowledge man.
Thank you very much!!
And devilishly handsome too 😍
Thanks for this, it’s my next job on mine 😀
Good luck it'll be fine!
Replace that yellow radiator fan asap before it explodes! I would never cut those washers off! I alwayse reuse them. Use a solering iron to melt the hoses off the barbs.
Looked like when you were talking about the engine that you may need need mounts. I don't know if it is supposed to move like that. Also the XK engine was in production longer than the v12
Funnily enough I've just done the front subframe bushes but I believe the engine movement is pretty average all of mine have moved like that. I've not yet had an XK engine. Would love an E.....
Nice thorough job there 💪
Most garages would not entertain a job like this to big a job and would not have a clue but you make it look easy great content as per.
Thank you Richard!
I'll be doing this job soon. I wish you'd filmed the actual removal and installation.
Honestly, there was nothing to see, just me struggling and swearing. Just look at the diameter of the shock at each end as it only goes in/out one way 😁
@@Aston_Keeper The struggling and swearing is the fun part!
I’m the proud owner of a XJ6 series 3 and a Daimler double six series 3. I subscribe to see more adventures and tips
Fantastic collection, glad to help if we can!
Nice car and project - I think I've just bought a very similar XK8 to yours. It was also very cheap, albeit £650 more than yours! ruclips.net/video/mWXPHE9fRXc/видео.html It's mechanically great, but in need of some TLC to the bodywork, which I'll be addressing soon. I'm also going to buy some headlining fabric from Woolies Trim and re-cover the headlining myself. Looks like your car needs the same treatment! Good luck with it 😀
Oh awesome! Look forward to seeing your project!
Is your universal spanner SAE or Metric? 🙂 Good video, very informative. I have a '94 XJS & have wondered what that looks like.
😂 Ahaha. Thanks!
This is when they made cars to last love this classic jaguar these old cars can get your hands dirty and no blue gloves were insite now they plug in to laptops no fun in that.
Exactly it's amazingly simple when you figure it all out. Even the engine!
FYI. I am in the USA and the volume is too low to watch this video. Good luck .Sorry I had to give it a thumbs down.
Yeah this was our second ever video, we learned from that mistake!
I'll never let you forget that day of getting stuck 🤣🤣🤣
Ahahaha yep that's a fact!
Love the blooper reel
After 5 years with 7 series BMW's and so many electric bugs that were in the end too much , I purchased a 1992 series 3 Daimler double six from Japan . Ultra low mileage (20k) and it is a thousand times the car that BMW ever was ... apart from a rumbling wheal bearing being fixed as we speak, the car has been utterly magnificent and returning 21 mpg regulaly on the motorway . With many series 3's being repatriated from Japan , I am already looking for a replacement series 3 when my own turns 50 k miles
i think swearing helps
don't get paying big money for tyre. i just bought three this week. two off ebay for twenty quid for the two with nearly 7mill of tread and one off facebook marketplace for twenty, and it's brand new. Pirelli p6000. correct size for my seper V8. forty quid for three corners. result. one more to go once the sellers actually get back to me.
