"Fixing" a Worn Water Pump Pulley (Honda HT3813) Pictures
Просмотров 4052 года назад
The timing belt wears the aluminium water pump pulley over time, and it makes sharp edges, on which the belt starts to climb and gets damaged and can also make cam timing to jump a few teeth off. New water pumps are getting really expensive and hard to find. This shows the process of simply grinding the edges down. The grooves are slightly longer now, but still I reckon it will work fine for at...

Thanks for posting, almost ordered a set. Won't be now

Mainio peli!
Very interesting video and very informative - I am considering buying a 159 / its a 2010 model 1.9JDm and it has 185,000km - its in reasonable condition but has been lying up for a while - its black with cloth seats and interior is good -- I have to arrange a test drive and to ramp the car to check underneath ..and the price is currently 1000 Euro .. which I don't think is too bad as long as engine and gearbox are ok.. greetings from Ireland
Thanks, Paul. It sounds like a very nice find for 1000 euros. Yes it would be good to check the underside, the protection against corrosion isn't the best on these cars, although many things on these 159's are very well built. The 1.9 engine and the GM gearbox are probably made in millions, you can find those parts easily, but finding suspension arms or subframes to replace the corroded ones, is not as easy🙂
@@rangleri thank you very much for the courtesy of your reply - I understand the issues with rust - subframe corrosion and these are items I will check when I get the car on a ramp - which is convenient for me to use - I can see that car has good service history and the timing belt as pump was done / I note swirl flaps can be a problem as well as EGR / but for the money at €1000 maybe a little less I think it might be worth buying / I can email you photos of the car if your interested Kind Regards Paul
@@ramblinginmeath4950 Okay! tell me how it goes and if you decide to buy the car. I remember the time I was considering to buy my 159 almost 9 years ago --I was scared it would mean lots of problems but no, only small problems, it has been very good overall.
@@rangleri thank you - I view the car and test drove it - and I suspect it will need suspension work / maybe shocks / complete door mirrors both sides / I'm guessing timing belt and pump and if has 299,000km - so I will probably walk away from it / it's a €500/600 car in my opinion ( standard base model - no leather 🥸)
@@ramblinginmeath4950 Maybe you did the right thing! It could be lots of work. Maybe it will be a fun project car for someone👍
I need to replace that same bushing and "the impossible to find" bolt..Thanks for very informative video
Good video. Which sealant did you use? Brand?
Thanks! Unfortunately I can't remember which brand it was, but most of them will work just fine. It is most important to clean, degrease and possibly roughen up the surface before applying it.
I feel like you tractor throwing snow so far compare to mine :O
Okay, but maybe it only looks like it because this doesn't really throw very far - and it doesn't need to!

@@rangleri Why don't you benchmark and upload a video with it? How does Windows 7 run?
This was very informative! Thank you for the video! Where did you get that replacement ball joint?
Thanks! I got them from an almost-local parts store. The part number is "TEDGUM 00028287" and it cost something like 25€ a piece- so it is not the best quality. But the part data also says that some of these numbers could fit: ALFA ROMEO 50710782, 25221024, 0350002102009, 2522102-4, 50710783. You cannot really be sure of those, but usually if they have pictures and it looks like the part, it helps.

Some inventive engineering skills you used! Well done.
Thanks!👍 without a good workshop or parts sometimes it is like this.
I’m looking into buying one of these, vs a new Home Depot mower. Seems to built extremely well. What are service intervals?
Hi, Honda is still keeping the owner's manual available on their server- you can find it searching for "Honda HT3813 manual". The manual has the "Maintenance schedule". But it is good to keep in mind that these tractors are getting old, and some parts are becoming hard to find. Some would argue that the machine is designed in an unneccessarily complicated manner, but for enthusiasts it is just a good thing😄
Very, very useful and informative video, great job mate! :)
They use synthetic grease for the plastic parts. Regular will damage the plastic bushes.
Thanks for the comment- You are right, it has to be special grease.
Thank you, i have the same model and i had the same problem ! with your indications and some hours of work, i could repair my washing machine without spending 1 euro ! Thanks again and best wishes!
Nice to hear, well done! Cheers!

Which rings piston i need to use for corolla toyota 2c diesel. Std or 0.50. please answer me
Hey I just got the same tractor and was wondering if you have some plan or picture of the cabin? thanks :)
Congratulations for getting the tractor👍 Unfortunately the drawing, which was a small piece of paper, disappeared when the build was done. But the first thing was to find solid mounting points, on which it is possible to start welding the frame. Good spot for front mounting points are the 6mm bolts at front portion of the footrests, there is solid frame under it. The rear is not so straightforward, as the frame goes under the seat. Some heavier vertical supporting needs to be installed between the steel body and the frame. It is best to use bolted design for the mounts so you can lift the cabin off if needed(for painting, clutch repairs etc..) But anyway when the bottom part is ready, then it is just measuring/cutting/welding and making the shape to your own taste🙂
Superb . Thank you.
Thanks👍
I just purchased the same vehicle. My oil level light just came on today. When I purchased it it was off. The oil pressure light is also off. Is this likely just because the vehicle needs to be serviced and have the oil filter and oil changed? Or is it possibly a bad oil sensor
Hello, it could be worth checking the oil level on the dipstick and add some more if the level is low. If it is low, then probably adding like 0,5 litres fixes it. I don't think there are sensors for the oil quality on these cars, so get it serviced if the oil has done enough or if it's unknown when it was last changed.
@@rangleri I actually found an oil leak. Can’t tell exactly where it’s coming from yet. I’m thinking it’s going to be an oil deal or possibly a gasket of some sort. Super bummed out about it. I haven’t had the estima for 3 days yet. It had zero issues when I bought it (a mechanic confirmed it was good to go) and drove it 300 miles back to my home. I went to get the inspection done today and the oil level light came started blinking. When I got home there was a small pool of oil under the engine
@@Ammosexual69 Oh no, does not sound funny. But surely you can get it fixed👍It could still be something simple, like the oil filter seal.
@@rangleri I just spent an hour trying to locate the source of the leak. Wish i could post pics here to show you but I think the leak is coming from somewhere on top of the engine right under the right side access panel
@@rangleri oddly enough I attempted to tighten the oil filter cap when I added the oil seal additive. I wonder if that’s all it was.
Hi, Did you use the old gasket for the water pump?
Hi, Yes I did. The rubber gasket was still in good condition and it hasn't leaked.
good video tutorial oring damage
Thank you for your video - it was really helpful. And guess what! I came from Finland yesterday with my 159 - and driving fast on the rural finnish roads I suddenly heard squizing noise. Now I will try to find out the way you explain. Paljon kiitoksia. Greetings from Norway.
Very nice! Thanks. Let's hope you find the source of the noise. I had squeaky noises coming from front suspension lower ball joints, but also front upper control arm inner bushings.
Tomorrow I will check my 159 with the same engine, that hose also broke, I changed it together with the thermostat and even so the coolant level drops very little by little.
Thank you man, appreciated.
Awesome!! I want to do the same thing, but I am going to use an electric deck drive clutch. Very cool !!!
Interesting idea! Electric clutch would simplify the mechanical construction a lot.
Have you done this yet? I'm currently waiting on the parts to do this with an electric pto clutch on my mud mower because of this comment! Thanks for the idea!!
What was the symptoms? And improvement after cleaning? Thanks
Hi, it was running and driving well, but smoking more under heavy acceleration. Also the yearly emissions tests were becoming a struggle. DPF was also doing the regenerating process slightly more often. I did not get any other significant improvements after cleaning, than better emissions.

Hi, thank you for sharing this usefull information. I have an Hp Ml370 generation 5 with 2 identic Lsi sas array 400/256 card. It will be fun trying to find some old Hp workstation motherboard to work with. Hp z800 are fairly cheap in refurb condition, do you think it will work?
Thanks. Yes it would be nice if they worked on a Z800 as they are still great machines. But I don't know if it would work, because I once built a "retro" gaming PC using a HP Z600 (2x LGA 771) board and I could not get this SAS card working with it. But I'm not sure if it was my fault, or the card was incompatible with that too.
@@rangleri Hmmm.. Failure in Z600.. Will searching for more info.
Had the same pipe brake on mine, seems like a common thing, huh?
Oh okay. I made this video because I did not find any information of this on the internet. But as the cars are getting older, this will surely become a more common issue.
Not all that worn mate, I swept my thrust bearing out of the bell housing, not a single ball in sight and nothing left on shaft. It even wore a good bit of the arm away. How the funk it worked till it did, is amazing.
Wow, that was seriously worn. Yeah this one wasn't that bad as it was still a rolling bearing.

Hi, I have a problem with the Alfa 159, water enters and drips at the hood opening lever. The drainage channels are clean but the water is still dripping
Hi, it may need some more investigating. It is possible that it comes from some of those body seams with sealer on them(shown on the video), or the windshield has been poorly installed at some point. I hope you figure it out.
