NOBODY BUYS THE GTR...THE GTR IS NOT SELLING AND NISSAN MIGHT KILL THIS CAR IN THE NEAR FUTURE...WHY?...JAPANESE DON'T KNOW HOW TO BUILT SPORTS CARS...PERIOD
Well, call the Japanese cars what you want, compared to Chevys bevy of musclecars, the ricer cars have kinda lost their edge. I don't "hate any thing foreign', as you state. I have had more foreign cars, probably, than you've had cars. I currently own one. But, for the ricer people to claim that the best car in the world is a GTR is simply untrue. Chevy's own more racing wins and races than the number of ricer cars that run 14 second 1/4mile times. What do you drive that YOU'RE so proud of?
Outran a Veyron, huh? Ok, from zero to 3 mph maybe. You ricer fanboys need to look at some facts before you post rediculous claims. You just make yourself look so foolish even to other GTR fans....what an embarassment. The GTR is a very fast Japanese made car with awesome performance, but it's not invinceable. Just look at any road racing event results and you won't find the GTR competing because they can't. Where they do compete, they are not successful.
Yep, the ricer GTR is made in Japan and is a pathetic attempt to be world-class. You obviously don't watch international races such as Lemans or the ALMS series or the Continental Tire Challenge series. If you did, you will notice there GTRs never have podium finishes or just don't compete. Why? They can't compete. Corvettes have won Lemans 7 times in the last 10 years. They set records at Nurburgring that the GTR can't match. Give me proof of just one major race a GTR has won...just one.
your calling the gtr a ricer? do you even know what a ricer is? the corvette won't keep up with the gtr. It is hands down one of the fastest super cars out there and for the price your not going to beat it. you can go get a corvette and the performance in the corvette won't match the gtr's performance. Nissan is giving every company out there a run for there money. The gtr has out ran a veyron. Nissan made a well balanced super car that is good for the street and and track. respect it!!
Isn't the gtr cheaper then the zr1. And let's put the ams alpha around the ring vs zr1 and see what happens. And ur little Chevys allowed it's stage five million dollar setup that chevy is going to put on it AND I still bet it would lose!!!!!
No need to do that. Watch the nurburgring videos and then you talk. If you want an ugly fast car, go ahead and buy the ricer....no skin off my nose and give your money to the Japanese. For me, I will take a C5 Corvette over the GT-R and simply put a couple grand in it and stay with your ricer. But, I would bet you don't have a GT-R...you probably have a Honda or Kia with a fart pipe.
@AllYourBase420 If you didn't know it, the term "ricer" comes from an allusion to any car that poses as a performance car and somes from a country where their main food staple is "rice" and that term perfectly fits the GTR. Where was this ricer car, at LeMans, World Challenge, SCCA, ALMS, Continentaal tire challenge? I'll tell you, it was scooping up rice watching the Corvettes and Mustangs eat their lunch. Tell me one international race where the GTR dominates or shut up.
@AllYourBase420 If you didn't know it, the term "ricer" comes from an allusion to any car that poses as a performance car and somes from a country where their main food staple is "rice" and that term perfectly fits the GTR. Tell me one international race where the GTR dominates or shut up.
@AllYourBase420 You see, AllyourBase, you've made it very clear that you know nothing about the ZR1 Nurburgring run. The car was bone stock according to GM and the driver. If you have some "evidence" otherwise, I would surely give you credit, buy you don't. The tires were the exact same set on every new ZR1. There were mods, a roll bar which did nothing to improve track times and as a matter of fact, the weight of that and the test equipment detracted from it's potential fast lap
@ParisTNDude "A person who makes unnecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster." - UrbanDictionary. You don't know shit. ZR1 was nonstock equipment and nonstock tires, beat the GTR by 2 seconds. GTR ran a wet lap. When it runs a dry lap, it'll have 5 seconds on the ZR1 and then Chevy will do more mods to get a better time. So by your logic, the ZR1 is also a ricer. lol @ running all those laps in GT5. Me too.
@AllYourBase420 Yep, I know what ricer means and the GT-R fits the title pretty well. If the GTR is so fast, why is it that the ZR1 beats it so badly....geesh. The ZR1 ran the times "bone stock". I have driven 20 or so laps at Nurburgring, at least 10 at Hockenheim, Francia Corte in Italy 10 at Laguna Seca, Darlington 5 laps, and tons of autocross runs. I was the runner up winner at the Holley LS Fest two years in a row. Autobahn at 185 mph. And where have you driven, Ricer?
@ParisTNDude Do you even know what the word "ricer" means dumbshit? Making a slow, piece of shit car from japan look fast. That's it. Sorta like what detriot does and then have to cheat by using non-stock equipment and super wide, racing slicks that don't even come standard to get a slightly faster lap time then a car that did it in the rain. Get over yourself and go run some quarter miles for kiddies that couldn't hack a real racetrack.
mizuno at the wheel!!!!!!!!.... average driver with this car stock ... from 9:30 + .. and with this car tuned ex (ams alpha 6) you will jump over the hedge
@knutn The carcritics and you can love it all you want, the car is ugly. Yep, it is fast and I don't deny that, but without all wheel drive, it would be just another Maxima, Camry or other ricer. If you think TopGear is the ultimate judge of what's fast and faster, guess again. I haven't seen a single GTR win any major driver or manufacturer's championship in any major race anywhere in the world. Corvettes have won them all, LeMans (5 times) Alms, nearly every year and GTR doesn't get a podium.
@ParisTNDude It's only as good as it is because of it's AWD?? Say what?? And seriously, the GTR is a loser? Guess you`re the expert then.. And all the carcritics have no idea since they all seem to love it.. The 2012 GTR did the TopGear lap in 1.17.8, The ZR1 did it in 1.20.4.. And that was not on any 100 octane..
@StCopley Gees, I didn't know the GTR had won anything...can you name a few for me? The GTR was run with 100 octane gas on their Nurburgring run.... I don't see the GTR winning anything close to the records the Corvette or even the Camaro to own. It's only as good as it is because of it's AWD. It just doesn't win when all things are equal as in international racing...Sorry, the GTR is a loser and it's ugly to boot.
There is nothing like a spirited drive thru the countryside...! LOL I would love to take this baby thru the Santa Cruz Cal mountains on Route 17, then the backroads up to Skyline Drive north, down Route 84 thru La Honda and out to the coast. Then zipp down the PCH Rt 1 to Santa Cruz. that is my Ring..!!
damn it you tards the GT-R is insane it's been called the car of the decade and with good reason. Its cheaper than a FERRARI 458 and still beats its ass.
@jmauyou Actually, they finish 160-200 metres short for safety reasons... Going flat out towards the first turn to finish the entire lap is a dangerous maneuver.
@AllYourBase420 Ok, so you're a ricer GTR fanboy and nothing will convince you that the ZR1 is the better car, regardless of price, but, ummm, what victories exactly are you talking about for the GTR??? So, the ZR1's times are illegitimate, is that what you're saying. Come on, get a life and recognize the victor here.
@AllYourBase420 The Z06 still costs less though! =) Do you know how many advantages the GTR has over the Z06? Too many to name. And yes, Pilot sport cup tires are stock on the 2012 Corvettes. Even your $170,000 GTR Spec-V couldnt beat the Z06 or ZR1. My, ...my my.
@ParisTNDude You guarantee me what exactly? GTR isn't stock? Funny how it says that about the '12 ZR1 but doesn't say anything about the GTR not being stock, not to mention, once again, semi-wet conditions and 2012 ZR1 isn't even available for purchase. GTR didn't even competitively start racing until 2010 and had its fair share of victories too under stiff regulations... Don't really understand your point here...
@blazzing4321 A 2011 Z07 package for the Z06 starts at $88,000. The Z07 package for 2012 Z06 let alone the base '12 Z06 isn't even for sale not to mention the version they brought to the ring didn't even have stock tires. Nice try lemming.
@georgethemonkey Ummmmm....let's see, it's made in Japan, they eat only rice there, the car is as gawdy in appearance as can be and it's slow! Yep, that makes it a "ricer". If this is Japan's best shot at a world class performance car, I would call it a "ricer"! Even the 2012 Z06 beats it's time around Nurburgring!
@AllYourBase420 I guarantee you THAT GTR cost more than a current bone stock one. At any rate, the Vette beat cars that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more than it does. The GT-R wasn't even a target vehicle to beat. Try Ferrari, Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes, etc etc...Geesh, these ricer guys don't really GET IT! I sure didn't see a GT-R with a podium spot at LeMans, but, oh, by the way...Corvettes won 2 out of 4 of the international classes at LeMans..GT-Rs can't compete..admit it!
My, my, my....the ZR1 just turned a 7:19 beating this ricer's time by nearly 10 seconds and they ran the full course not 160 meters short. Back to the drawing board GT-R.
LMAO!. What kind of LOGICAL response do my Vette fanboys have to say about 2012 GT-R manhandling ZR1's Nurburgring time and even beat the 1 MIL+ US Dollar Ferrari Enzo. Z06 Carbon/Handling version (12 GTR's rightful GM competitor) is a JOKE to a R35 in engineering and a host of other aspects of the car other than just subjective looks. R35 > C6 Vette. @Air0374 I'd go for a P800 or P1000 Switzer mod. Way over 900bhp.
@jmauyou It's just convention. That's how most nurburgring lap times are measured.
the driver is great
