Hi Alex, thanks for the useful videos on the Morphy Richards power steam irons. Just want to pick your brains briefly if you don't mind.......on mine the water fill light stays on pretty much most of the time, after a bit of tinkering I can see that it's an issue either with the float magnet in the water tank or the magnetic proximity switch inside the base unit, the water tank only has to move a few mm in its housing for the contact to be lost and the water fill light to come on. When I put the magnetic tip of a screwdriver against the switch itself (inside the unit) I got a solid stable action and the water fill light stayed off, however, when I moved the magnet along the length of the switch (about 20 mm long) the connection came and went, it seems stable at the ends but less so in the middle. Do you know if these types of switches either work or don't or is there a level of deterioration? If the former then the switch isn't at fault which just leaves the floating magnet, maybe it's just not strong enough to penetrate through the plastic layers and small gap? Unfortunately you can't get to this magnet to change it as it looks like the water tank is a factory sealed unit. I thought this observation might be useful for others to know. Cheers.

Hello Alex. My iron decided to not switch on, whatsoever. I've tried changing power sockets, changing fuses in the plug, to no avail. I've opened up the boiler unit(forgetting to unscrew screw #5, so it went SNAP! when I forced it off, but no matter!). What I've noticed is that there appears to be water droplets on the surface of the silver resevoir. Is this indicative of a leak somewhere?

Hi Alex! Thanks for the review. Do you still use that helmet? If yes, what is your opinion now, is it still functioning well? How about durability of the materials? I like the design of this helmet, but based on the comments and reviews I might choose an other option, probably a bit more expensive.

I have a weird problem where the iron producing steam when held vertically and not producing steam when held horizontally. I'm wondering if is a tilt sensor inside the iron that malfunctioning? The steam burst works on each position...

Fuses do not blow for no reason. If you check your main pcba you will find out that it is shorted causing the fuse to blow

Pur iron has stopped releasing steam. I belive it to be this solenoid valve. Can I replace just the black part or will have to replace the brass valve part too?

Great guide and instructions. I dismantled the valve and found it blocked by limescale. Spent a while scraping it out, but when tightening the nut that holds the valve in place, it ripped the valve off the pressure tank. I expect that's a write off. Shame as it would have been the 2nd repair following Alex's videos.

Hi I installed my sanifloor 3, same as yours one year ago and have had only one problem. On day 3 of using it. I have a low level tray, and it overflowed due to the mesh on the chrome waste being bunged up with hair. It taught me to clean it every other day. I also keep it attached to the chrome top, take it to the sink, pull the mesh off clean it reattach to the chrome top and refit to shower. Other than that it has been superb. One question though, when I installed it I read that the sensor in the waste needed to be changed every year but your service engineer has dispelled that theory saying it should last for five years. Thats great but I did look on the internet for the part but it doesn't seem if anyone sells it. Will have to call saniflo !!!
