As you can see, it has the older Clipsal airflow style motor, I didn’t think they did an intermediate model but apparently they did

End of life 36w T8 florecent tube. (Osram lumilux)
The first one was wobbly and had a bent blade. The second one had a bit of a loose motor mount and the third one had a slightly bad capacitor.
Why is it so slow?
The first one had a pretty bad bent blade
MADE IN TAIWAN 👍👍👍
An awesome find bro 👌🏻
Nice is it labeled super mine is the same except it has a light kit on it instead but mines just labeled Smc so I don’t know it could be an airflow
@@RyanFowler-co1xf it has no label on the Lower canopy and just says smc on the motor. The original Controller is labeled super air
@@willpower3544oh mine actually doesn’t have a label on the Lower canopy either the sticker just says Smc and that’s it and mine came with a 3 speed control
Mm pie
Nice there’s a massive range of lights and fans that Bonaire cool with the light kit did you end up getting it the tip shops and salvage shops that are down here in Victoria don’t have a huge range of lights and fans I mean they still have them like I’ve gotten a few of my fans from salvage shops and stuff
Ah yes, infesting things
@@Mini_Mic my favourite.
Thinking about buying one as a beater. 2006 Mazda Tribute V6 FWD since 4x4 is more maintenance and problems as they age..
The last ping was perfect
9/10 times blown cooling system hose is blown head gasket.
Use something syrupy for coolant, it wont leak into places it shouldnt be as easily as coolant does 😂
boring assortment of fans, except the hpms, which have the closest connection to the iconic airflow
clipsal canopy i see.
Nice color blue water love that bluecolor
Love it
Do you still have that ceiling fan?
@@lynleymelville4323 yes I do. I very rarely get rid of fans unless they are modern or generic or I have more than two or three of them.
@@willpower3544 would you like to do a remake of this fan please?
@@lynleymelville4323 if I can find a replacement blade bracket and pullchain switch. I’d like to remake all the fan cidoes that were shot on my old camera at some point.
You haven’t posted in one month. I really like your videos.
1:23 The SMC 5-speed controls usually give a good range of speeds at least on SMCs, but sometimes they eventually fail in such a way that the lower speeds become faster and faster. Wonder if that’s what happened, unless you know that control is in good condition
i have the same fan, sadly they are not really good air movers
i believe the later made B2224s have an info sticker in them, mine is made in 2000 and it did have an info sticker in it, but it was in the side of the spigot mount next to the capacitor, and i could not see it so i tried to carefully peel it out and move it, but it ripped in half (i was not happy) so made a homemade one on MS Word and laminated it.
For some reason I like watching steam go into an exhaust fan, am i alone?
Cheers for some reason for the life of me i couldn't work out how to get the cover back on it properly
So the Clipsal fan doesn’t make the noise
Tighten the glass the dot in the middle is the screw
Will, I need to replace my rusty Clipsal airflow 1200 blades and can’t find them anyway. Do you know where they could be sourced? Thx
good to see the old fans around still
Yeah definitely a Union . Made in HongKong .very well built .
The only time a metal halide lamp will explode is if it is being energized 24/7. It is recommended that metal halide lamps be shut down for 20 minutes once a week. That way, as the lamp reaches end of life, it will fail when you try to turn it on and will not explode. It’s best to use an unprotected metal halide lamp in an enclosed fixture which will protect people if the lamp does explode.
These are really good cool rare old Fans love to get one one day this or a gec bianca
That fan switch not looks like it’s from a hpm airboss
@@RyanFowler-co1xf it’s a Clipsal fan controller, the fans are labeled as UEC, so I’d say union which older gecs were made by union/evergo. I need to look into what UEC stands for
@@willpower3544 because the knob on the 3 speed control looks like it goes to an air mate or hpm airboss the wattmaster sand the Lanson just come with normal Clipsal 3 speed controls but airboss have the legrand control and airmate have a different control
I just have pulled out a lot of CFL light from scrap gambling machines. If you are close to a big casino you may be able to find some from the maintenance crew

we have the same mistal fan in our bathroom :)
u ran it on an igniter (im blown away it didnt blow away 😮😮)
No I didn’t, I bypassed all the control gear in the fitting and was just running it on straight power.
Is it a legal requirement in Australian that if their is no window the fan has to be on the same switch as the light?
@@Sylvania_B2224 it’s not a legal requirement, but common practice. I don’t think it’s an electrical requirement I’ve been told it’s to do with the building code/regulations. Been meaning to look into it
it had a nice end glow on the start up :)
Hey will, i have one of these and revently the blade stopped spinning completely but the shutter still opens and closes on the regular delay. Any idea what part to replace ?
Ayeeeee haha thanks for the shoutout man!
Nice you have lots of mistrals I have two of these on long down rods with clipper lights from 2001
The martecs I meant
Does anyone know the difference of a maxi urban and an urban, because my urban has not got the raised bit of diecast at the pe cell socket however the back cover does not say maxi cut in the UR of urban. The info sticker just says urban on it. It is 80mv and is dated in 2004. I was installed on a stupidly long arm too high up ubove a main road. its safe to say the hallogen traffic lights below could have been brighter then the urban. the other lights are b3000 mk2s and roadsters. i was able to score a streetled mk3 L14, roadster 150hps and the urban from the lineys as the poles where getting taken down.
@@Sylvania_B2224 could be a labeling error at the factory or they were using up spare parts. No streetlights have ever been halogen you might be referring to high pressure sodium the orange coloured lights.
@willpower3544 ok, I was referring to the traffic light 🚦set below, I have the same traffic lights in my collection and the old ones use halogen ballasts and halogen bulbs in them and this set it old
I have a 2006 mazda tribute 3.0. It's right at 199,000 and runs like a beast!! I live in Nebraska and have had it a little over a year.. it had no issues getting me through the deep snow over the winter time.... and surprisingly ..... it has little to no rust.
Oh Will you're my knight in shining armour! I've been searching everywhere for info on my weird, shitty bathroom fan/light unit, but all with no success...until now. 😍 The bloody thing is getting noisier by the minute. So noisy I can't hear myself think while I'm avoiding society! Now I know what to replace it with. Thank you! 🏅
If you open it up and put sewing machine oil or chainsaw oil in the bearings and give it a clean it will quiet down. No need to throw away a perfectly good vintage fan.
I have a m80 urban now, can I run a self ignition sodium 70w globe in it?
