@danPattenAudioG33k I have a few questions as I purchased this system too and wondered if I could contact you to have a small discussion.
Hey Dan by chance you have the measurement of the vent opening on the back panel? Without the trim on. Thanks
The opening I cut was approximately 12-3/8".
Hi Dan, Great Job! I did the same thing as you but I am seeing a red hue that comes of the lights. Would you know why? I also did the 6K lights with 2 24V power supplies.
What controller are you using? Often, red LEDs are turned on slightly to make a white LED look more warm. Is your controller possibly trying to do some color matching and turning on your RED leds?
Thank you for details guidance on both of the video. Looking forward to part 3 of the video to communicate with PC/arduino
A topology that is 30 years old. I see no reason to build this today. We have better projects.
Pm me can you install do sola battery...
Can a RESET button be added to make this easier ?
Sure. A normally open momentary contact switch could be added.
Wow. $5k-$6k for someone to install. My neck of the woods they’re getting $8k+ for a very average house
The install companies are making good money. Maybe I chose the wrong career :)
Remember buying a Threshold Class A amplifier in 1978! Purchased it from Sound Components in Coral Gables. It was an incredible amp for my Chartwell LS3/5a’s which were 15ohm impedance. The amp got quite hot, but the sound was incredible and worth every cent it cost. Mr. Pass designs were always good sounding and well thought out. I would love to have an amp made with 30 watts per channel to drive my old QUAD ESL’s sitting well packed in the basement. At $40.00 it would be an incredible value for a Nelson Pass designed amplifier. For a couple hundred dollars for a power supply and chassis and fans it still would be a bargain. I just purchased two FOSI V3 mono block amps from Kickstarter with two 48volt 10amp power supplies for the Class D amps as a funding reward.
Have always been a fan of Pass going back to the Threshold days. Also liked that many of his designs had schematics available.
Hey man do you provide a service to do this? I am just unsure how to charge it up without a special charger.
Sorry, I do not. Have thought about it but shipping lithium battery packs that are over 100Wh is a pain.
Was shipping added to the cost that you showed in the video?
Yes. I added in shipping for the parts that came from the LED supplier.
So I'm not an electronics guy but I got my 58 volt echo weed eater battery working after it stopped working over the winter. All I did was put it in my weed eater and cycled it from turtle mode to rabbit mode until it started running. I ran the the battery down and it is now charging perfectly.
Good that your fix was easy :)
Is there a way to make the ah reading at 100% after setting it? Say you set the OAH to 100ah, then make it 100% after saved.
What voltage did your battery show when it would not charge and/or show error?
I do not recall the discharged voltage, however, the battery could be fully charged (58V) and the chainsaw would not operate.
Thank you! It worked! Just saved me a few hundred bucks!
Awesome. Glad the video helped.
Can you tell me what lengths you cut 4x4's please
Ran out and measured :) They are 68 inches (5'8") and 92 inches (7'8").
Thank You!
Opposing magnet pole configuration? Missing something ... Embarrassing! I've only built Electrostatics, pain in the neck. Did you machine your plates Dan? Dave in PA.
The magnets are in an opposing configuration. I did the design and hired a local shop to laser cut the steel plates. The plates are 1/8" steel.
@@DanPattenAudioG33k Yes, I see the magnets alternate NSNS…Must restudy Maxwells Equations. Fascinating video Dan.
Great advice. Especially the guy who mentioned jumping the dead battery, from a sister battery of the same type for 30 seconds. Both worked for me. Has to be a significant design flaw on their part as I've gone through two warranties to date on both batteries, same issue, prior.
Thanks. I agree, the "Jump Start" idea is a clever. I agree, there does appear to be a major design flaw.
I built one while waiting your final video. All I can say is no need to wait. If anyone interested, do it. I used 4 meanwell 24 V. 4.5 amp smps. Built it as full mono.
Sorry I have been slow on last video. I will get to it.
Hi Dan, excellent videos and thanks for posting.. I'm doing a exact similar installation. Couple of questions, did you resolve the peak portion of the track installation in video 1? Did you buy or fabricate the end caps? Any issue with data line and need of a booster?
Thanks for kind comments. The manufacturer supplied end caps and corner pieces. I still need to make peak pieces. I have not had any problems with the data (no data booster needed). I am still running with what I detailed in the video except I did make my own carrier for the ESP32.
Are there any sound test yet? I'm curious how the differences between typical common dynamic driver and the planar driver on a big speaker rather in regular IEM's
Hello. Are you referring to headphone "IEM"? My progress on the headphone planar elements has been slow. I have got the diaphragms made but need to make the magnet supporting structure. My mechanical CAD skills are not so great :)
So I need all that fancy expensive equipment and experience to obtain this? Appreciate your video though…
Thanks. In the comments for this video, I have made a few suggestions of possible budget method. Cut and paste here: You might be able to accomplish similar results with a 48VDC AC/DC power supply. These are common for POE (Power Over Ethernet) devices. Insert a series 200 ohm power resistor (25W or larger) to limit the current. Assuming you have a multi-meter to monitor voltages/current and maybe $30 of parts from Amazon, you might be able to do it. Be careful and your mileage might vary :)
so how can I charge my battery without a good charger. if i use a ac battery charger what voltage and ampere could I use? Is there a way to fix the charger? Thank you
I have suggested to a couple of others in these comments that you could possibly use a POE (power over Ethernet) adapter 48v and a current limiting resistor. No, I do not think you can fix the charger because it is mostly a coding issue.
Thank you, Dan! Your video was very userful to make a right choice.
Thanks for kind comment. I have found the DL3021A to be a very useful tool.
Who is he calling "Kate"?
I can reset a battery too if I owned all this equipment.. . But I don't

“I can’t get a decent SPL” What more about an amp would I need to know?
Is the bias setting correct on your amp? Bias is adjusted with the blue potentiometer on each amplifier board. You could also check that the power supply is running at correct voltage. How efficient are your speakers?
My pack is 7 years old. The board does have the stuff that he says is missing on his. Many good seasons. A replacement?...$190!. May see if I can replace the cells. 7 years is probably all we gonna get on Lithium?
I would think you have a good run of 7 years. It is amazing how much replacement battery packs cost.
We have the same shed kit and getting ready to state clearing a spot. Any problem with wind, should we tie it down?
I would definitely anchor it down. I used a dozen 4 inch construction screws to anchor the greenhouse to the base frame detailed in the video. I hope the 6 cement piers keep mine anchored :)
Thanks for this video! Just started testing headphones and your video is super helpful.
Thanks for comment. I need to do some more measurements soon on a DIY headphone I am making. Might make a video about t :)
Thank you for the tape demo!! We now can proceed w our build. Good job!!😊
Your welcome :)
Do you have to charge the battery externally before doing the reset? Or can i just do the reset?
I had to charge the battery outside of charger and then do the reset. Others in these comments (I believe) had success just performing the reset.
Thank you for sharing this video. How did you fasten the greenhouse to the 4x4 foundation?
Yes. I used approximately quantity 16 of a 4" long construction screw.
I cannot get my meter to display accumulating AH or WH, it only shows 0.00. I got a replacement from Amazon and it behaves the same. Do I have 2 bad meters or am I missing something? I have a 12V, 45 AH battery that I am trying to test. If I set the OAH to 45AH, it will decrement the AH appropriately when I apply a load but the WH is still displaying 0.00. If I reverse the current direction, the WH will display but as soon as it hits 0.11, it resets to 0.00.
I tried this exactly as shown. It does not work. For the amount of time I spent, it's more cost-effective to just buy a refurb'd battery, or better yet - retire this terrible Echo.
Sorry to hear that this process did not work. I think the battery system is a bad design.
This actually looks rather easy to build out of 2x4 and ply boards and plastic paneling and solar panel powered led entrance light as well as a ventilation fan that is connected to a RHU and temp sensor and plug. And pay way way less I love watching videos to recreate out of wood and sweat.
Probably possible to beat the price by a little bit but would take time to find all the parts. I am currently working on a solar panel powered heating system for the greenhouse. I might make a video about it.
@@DanPattenAudioG33k that is easy work finding brackets and installing them is no excuse to spend 10X more on a item that turns out the same or better u did jive on the garden though and rock laying.
The “windows” are doubly ply polycarbonate sheets. They’re $100 each and you’d need about 6 to cover this exact shed. You’re high if you think you can build this cedar greenhouse for 10% what it costs to buy (you’re claiming it would cost you $135 pre tax in case you’re as bad at math as you are cost estimates). You could MAYBE shave 15% if you really went for it, but for $200, I’d just save my back and my time buying it pre cut and stained in this pack. Plus I get a warranty. Good luck getting a warranty on your build lmfao 🤣
@@dogbots159 shipping that is not cheap either and ya maybe not that much less but definitely a lot less. And secondly you can beef things up personalize them better doing a build it yourself. Some materials you could cheap out on and some I would spend more on. But the point is most Men that work with there hands would rather build it then buying a pre built TV stand practically and those old TV stands would always fall apart.
@@DanPattenAudioG33k that's cool I would love to see it. Did you mean u going to custom build from the ground up as well.
How many amperes is a good transformer for an LM3886 stereo amplifier?
For a robust design, I think you want the secondary windings to be rated for 6 amps (for a stereo design).
@@DanPattenAudioG33k in my country the average person sells 5A or 10A... 6A ones are rare.. Can a 5A transformer be used for this amplifire?

Thanks for the encouragement :)
How did you charge it???

Great video. Thanks for the ideas. I especially like the concrete risers. I used them for my shed, but didn’t think of them for the green house.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video! Hoping you can help me with my question. My battery has no LED lights that light when I press the button. When I put it on the charger red light blinks, then turns solid (defective). Took the battery apart and reset per your video. When I put it in the charger now it just always says "evaluating" (blinking red light on charger). Any other tricks I can try? TIA!
Thanks. What is the voltage of the battery? If you leave it on the charger for say an hour and then measure it, what do you get? When you performed the reset, what was the battery voltage?
@@DanPattenAudioG33k sorry for the delay in response. Battery is at ~4.5v, I did not measure it prior to resetting it.
@@paulreed563 I believe one of the key issues is performing the reset when the battery is in a full state.
Glad I found your video. My 58V battery did exactly as you described. It was fully charged, but I performed the reset you showed in the video using a paper clip between the ground and reset and it worked when I put it back in the saw. Thanks for doing the work figuring this out!
Awesome. Glad it helped.
How long did the project take you? Not including digging for electrical or electrical work.
Including the base , estimate is 16 - 20 hours.
The ac fuse might be in the socket
That is a good thought. If I recall, I checked for that but might have missed it.
Thank you for the testing demo, I recently ordered the Drok USB Load as well as a RuiDeng UM25C USB Tester, should be here in a day or two. Great video! I will be starting my build over the upcoming holiday weekend. Wish me luck as I am thinking about adding solar to mine (no direct electricity for me 😢).
Thank you. I am process of trying some solar experiments myself. Just purchased a couple of used 325W panels.
I have had an Echo 58V Hedge Trimmer, Weedwacker, and Blower since 2017. The 2Ah and 4Ah batteries have always been finicky. I've tried running all of the power out of them and rechaging them. I've tried pressing and holding the battery button for 30 seconds. Nothing seemed to make the batteries work as they did when they were new. I've gotten the "Defective" light at the end of every charge cycle for each of my 4 batteries for years. I've filed Warranty Claims for new ones previously on multiple occasions through Echo. This morning, while debating on whether to make the leap to EGO tools, I went down a RUclips Rabbit Hole... and landed on this video. Dan perfectly describes the issue I was facing... charging issues.... not working for long periods in the tools... even if voltage is 57.4 Volts. So, I followed his instructions to a Tee, using a T10-H Screwdriver.. I reset one battery at 51 volts, another at 56.4 volts. I put the clamshells back together, charged them up, and WOW! What a difference! Its almost like my blower is brand new! Using my 4Ah battery, I went from less than 2 minutes on Turbo Mode to 10+ minutes. Also, after using Turbo for 10 straight minutes, the battery was still holding 50 Volts. Problem Solved! $1,100.00 Saved! Dan has a new suscriber now. Thanks Again!
That is awesome to hear and thanks for the kind comments. It is amazing how useful RUclips can be. Years ago, when I thought RUclips, I thought cat videos. :)
I actually just bought this for 3d printer mods your video will help
Glad to hear that. Thanks.

Great info ! Another important tip is that a lot of people forget that the battery itself might still be on the warranty. 5 years, if you still have your receipt or if your purchase was registered at your Echo dealer. I have got 2 two of them replaced in the last year.
A good tip.
Hi Dan, Thank you for the video. I have a question "What is class 1 and class 2 powersupply? If i am using the class 1 powersupply then how do i know that i am following the wiring method requirements of class 1 circuit.
There is a difference between Class I/II and Class 1/2 and that is super confusing. Class I/II mostly details grounding and insulation. Class 1/2 mostly details power output capability of the power supply. These two different standards having similar names is one of the dumbest things in electronics. Not sure of your question. A Class 2 power supply is inherently limited to specific amount of power (approximately 100W) and is lower than 60V (I believe).
