London Explore Part 1 Trinity Buoy Wharf & Lighthouse, East India Quays & The o2 views

Part 1 of our London Trip We got on a DLR to East India, walked down to Virginia Quays, along East India Quays to Trinity Buoy Wharf. It was late afternoon evening so we didn’t get to go in the Lighthouse, but it’s a lovely place to walk around, they actually lock the gates at 19:00 hrs so make sure you leave on time. I thought the Uber boat stopped here but it doesn’t, it’s not a public pier. ...

Came across this by chance as we came into the Garden Centre for a Coffee, they had 3 mini trains running on the let light railway, it takes 10 minutes to go around the tracks with plenty to see and a little tunnel, plus you can get off for the museum and hop on another train. Loved by all 3 generations. Welcome to the new subscribers 😃 Thanks to everyone supporting our Channel, coming next som...

Hello girls 👋👋. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your trip. I had a giggle watching the both of you. Take care until next time 👋👋❤️❤️🥰🥰
@@AnitaH-i1i Thank you so glad we make you giggle 😆 Same to you, have a lovely week ❤️👍🏻🌞
Hello ladies 👋👋. Thank you for another fun adventure. You two are so funny. I had such fun watching your video. I can't wait for the next one. It's been my dream to visit England one day until then. I'll enjoy watching you two lovely ladies. 👋👋❤️❤️🥰🥰
@@AnitaH-i1i I was saying to Sapphire that when videoing its harder to be natural, we do have such a laugh off camera, always doing silly things. Where are you from? If you ever come just make sure you go to safe and beautiful parts. 😀🍄🌸
@urbanbeyondexplorers I live in Texas just outside of San Antonio. I think you're doing fine with the filming. 👋❤️❤️🥰🥰
@ oh lovely, bet there is some fab architecture there 😃
@urbanbeyondexplorers Not nearly as nice as in England. I've been to "the Alamo" very underwhelming. Just in case you were wondering.

@@davidcraggs5769 Thank you for noticing & letting us know, have now changed the cover ☺️
Looks like you guys had fun that day. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤😊😊
@@AnitaH-i1i The DLR is so rocky & we set each other off with the giggles 🤭 My phone died snd camera ran out of storage on the cable car, luckily Sapphire was shooting or we would not have got any footage of that and it was s lovely day. ☀️😃
@urbanbeyondexplorers well, I enjoyed it. I'm trying to play catch-up and watch the older videos. Thank you and sapphire (what a beautiful name ❤️). 👋👋❤️❤️🥰🥰
@ It’s my Birthstone so I thought I would name her it, since then quite a few people have used the name. Hope you enjoy the videos, we are still getting used to videoing, well I am, Sapphires grown up with it, I have always loved Photography. ☺️
@urbanbeyondexplorers Both of you are doing a great job. 👋❤️❤️🥰🥰
@ Thank you 🙏 🩷😃
New subscriber. I really enjoyed your tour of York ❤. Thank you very much. 👋👋❤️❤️😊😊
@@AnitaH-i1i Ahh thank you so much, really appreciate your feedback, hope you had a lovely Christmas 🎄 😃
@urbanbeyondexplorers I did. Thank you for asking. I hope you and your family did as well. 👋👋❤️❤️😊😊
We did thank you 🙏 😃🎄
At 17 minutes the Keighley bus is the oldest surviving double decker trolleybus in the country built in 1924. It ended its service in 1932 when the electric trolleybus system closed down in the town. It was taken to Grassington- 18 miles away and used as a holiday home for many years- which is how it survived. There is a 1924 Keighley single decker trolleybus that also went to Grassington as a home and that is in the Beamish museum. Both vehicles were built by Straker Clough. When I was a kid there were old buses and train carriages in beauty spots as holiday homes- real old shanties! Luckily, some survived.
@@NickRatnieks that’s interesting, bet it made a lovely holiday home, so nice to see things like this still in existence. I haven’t been to Beamish Museum yet but would love to go one day it looks good 🙂
Wonderful collection! Future generations will be grateful.
@@rolandharmer6402 I hope future generations are still interested in history, future is looking a bit robotic. Can’t beat the old. 🙂
It's pronounced Keethly girls.......
@@JohnUnderwood-yz2xu I still struggle with the names, hardest is Slaithwaite, I have a video on that coming up and cannot say it. Thanks for the correction ☺️
I moved to Wheldrake in 1981 and remember the last trains to run there. Also the station being dismantled to be taken to the farming museum. Back in the CB days I was a member of Skipwith Duckpond Breakers and we used to meet up and drink in the pub there. I've also picked blackberries. Never knew there was a station at Skipwith but, of course, there must have been.
@@XiOjala They have some track York end and run trains on it, mainly for little ones I think as have kid activities & park there, we didn’t go to that though. The owner was saying it was a real community place, he has joined in with all sorts & fit in well as a former Southerner like us, we sadly don’t live in a nice community like that up here, it was so peaceful there. Shame the track was taken away. Was difficult to look at the former Station house as they rent it out to people who live there and they were looking at us! The man allowed us to pick some purple plums! 🙂
@@urbanbeyondexplorers What track? Do you mean in the farming museum in Murton? If it's somewhere else I'd be interested in going to see.
Great vlog.
Thank you, we did really enjoy this 🙂
Hi there I'm Rob. The train coach turned in2 self catering looks cool and actually looks comfy. I've stayed in a few self catering cottages and houses but never a converted train coach, this has given me the idea 2 do so one dy. Oh and ive watched In the Tall grass film a while back on netflix, its a good scary film 😱.
We have stayed in lots of lovely cottage’s, will eventually look back to see if I did any videos. This was great because I love the trains, well I like all transport really, it was cosy & peaceful, with a few chickens popping around the carriage, I didn’t manage to film them though. The grass was a bit of a walk up the road, we are always messing about & like a good horror movie! Definitely put it on your bucket list, it’s worth doing 🙂
I used to work in Green Lane Works when it was owned by W A Tyzacks back in the 80's. In those days, it was all furnaces, lathes, and grinding machines.
Always good to hear from people who are part of the history to a place 🙂 It’s nice they kept some of the Architecture and wall & did something more unique than box houses, First time I thought it was quite strange, but after looking at it’s history, It made more sense. I love the industrial side to Sheffield.
Chinatown is actually in two places so they placed that huge arch in the oldest area which was the origen of the oldest chinatown in europe!but it actually covers berry st,Renshaw st and Myrtle st which is where the university is about half a mile away and all the asian students live and eat etc up there!so really there should be a sign explaining what people are looking at or they just see the first street( baker st)😂
Oh really, I think we just came across that on way to the cathedral’s 🙂
What a wonderful view of the first grade one enclosed dock system in the world Royal Albert Dock! When the big refurbishments of the Maritime museum and the Tate Modern North are finished at the end of the year I will pay a visit back to UK to see the end results I hope they dont ruin the aesthetic feel of this engineering marvel of its day!Wonderful videos ladies more people should be watching!!❤
We will go back again still lots to see. We probably need to be doing more for algorithms. As long as some people enjoy videos it’s all good 😊
Excellent video! I found out that James st station and Hamilton Square station on the other side of the river are the deepest underground stations in the world!! which was an incredible feat in its day!!
There is a tour you can do underground which I want to aim for next time, that would be interesting.
You need to walk down a terraced street you'll see alot more going on in a house
Sorry for some reason premiere did not start I removed it and made public 😮
Very interesting video ty
Thank you for your comment, very much appreciated 🙂
Michael Armstrong: As a kid from Altofts , I spent hours and hours in that area. The M62 runs close by and I always remember my grandad taking me to see the M62 under construction. As a train spotter we called the area on top of the Pippin bridge 'The mound'. Saw the HST come through there on its trial runs along with the 225 leaning train which never made it into mass production.
Are you still local as the farm house has now been knocked down & Taylor Wimpey are building 408 houses right up to pippin Tunnel, also them or another company have put in for another load of houses from there to Church Road & the other side of Pippin Tunnel behind the railway line, taking all of the Green Spaces away in that area. No more Docs, Dentists or Schools either. I watched the Documentary on the leaning train.
@@urbanbeyondexplorers Hi, my family continue to live in Altofts along with most of my in-laws. We moved out to Holmfirth some years ago. Yes, I understand that housing development continues. My sister in law lives on the development on the Altofts side that occupies what was once 10 acre field. My mum lives on Church Road.
What an amazing viewing tower looks like something out of Dr Who!😂
It’s our 2nd time up it, does have great views, the fact you can view at your own pace is also great. They called it a UFO at one point it had LED lights around it so looked liked the aliens were coming 😄
@@urbanbeyondexplorers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a decent place to stay was it expensive?
The prices tend to change, we paid £108 per room per night for the big suit where you get the lounge but for the studio king bed with kitchenette its £76 thats week day, weekends looking at £164 with lounge £116 for the smaller studio, the smaller one is more than adequate for 2. The free food and drinks in the evening social are only Mon to Wed. I thought Liverpool was reasonable on most of the hotels, my mum stayed in The Holiday inn in The Royal Docks, she said that was good too they had a view.
@@urbanbeyondexplorers wow I didnt expect it to be so cheap!!Is there a water ferry you can go on?
Think London one is £250 so Liverpool is a good price. Yes they do but sadly wasn’t running when we went it broke down! They haven’t run the colourful boat in a while.
That place looks ridiculously massive who built that????
Giles Gilbert Scott was the Architect, they wanted it to be a very visible Building, took them a while to choose a site for it. It is very huge!
@@urbanbeyondexplorers I looked up the Architect he was famous for designing the classic red British telephone boxes!😯
@@marksimons4108 He has done or been involved in lots of projects, London power Stations, post war parliament & Guild Hall. He definitely has a certain style in his Designs. Large, tall, bold & can’t miss them! 😁 Before moving up North, from Sussex I spent alot of time in London, I love all the different Architecture there. I have been up the Elizabeth Tower before renovated & seen Big Ben Chime & been around Parliament & stood on the balcony, that was amazing to see and do. I will eventually go to Battersea Power Station & go up the Chimney lift too.
Cool
👍🏻
Thanks for the film, Leeds looks wonderful i haven't seen it for about 35 years very impressive.
Thank you for your comment, it is forever changing, bet it looked very different 35 years ago 🙂
@@urbanbeyondexplorers Yes Leeds looked very different but the old buildings were very attractive and it had obviously been very wealthy city originally, the new buildings you filmed compliment it well.
Fantastic 😊😊
Very pretty gardens
Wow this is such a funny video
The energy & power of water. Thank you for reminding us, appreciated.
I know it’s mesmerising to watch, I have the main top fall as well which will put on at some point, thank you for your comment, have a nice day 🙂
