La bomba de aceite del kia 2.0 encaja o es compatible con el Kia óptima gdi EX 2.4 2013?
Each camshaft carry two of this filters ? Thanks
Here in Brazil we are putting the ix35 pump in its place, making an adaptation that eliminates the lack of lubrication.
Thank you! I literally had no idea where this thing went. You saved me man😭
How much torque on front gear nut ?
I have a sneaky suspicion that this is the reason why timing chains end up snapping. One of the housings on my car is all kinds of chewed up where those 3 seals are. The other one is not all that fantastic either. The slots are worn at an angle. I am not 100% sure how the so called "seals" really do anything as it isn't a pressure fit into the cam phaser. It's actually kind of sloppy even with new phasers and a new housing. I did not know there is a filter inside the damned thing because no one says to replace those things in any of the timing chain instructions and the shop manual doesn't even say to replace them or say anything about a filter inside of it.
Im doing a 3.7 v6 timing change and head cylinder since bend the valves fotr a bad water pump. I just saw a tiktok and now im here just looking to order this tomorrow at the dealer. They were dirty but already did the hole.
@@APR_Customs You have to really visually inspect the grooves the 3 plastic seals ride in on the housing. If there is any oil starvation at all because of the screen being partially clogged what ends up happening is the seal will spin with the phaser due to there not being enough lubricant for the phaser to move over the seal. That spinning actually wears the groove it rides in so it ends up being crooked. This is what had happened to mine. When it got crooked enough the seal got stuck and stopped rotating with the phaser so now the phaser was riding over the seal when there isn't enough oil to lubricate properly. That caused a lot of heat which resulted in the seals melting, once that happened now whatever oil was supposed to be going to the phaser and cams now blow past the melted seals. That caused oil starvation to the phaser and cams on that head. I was lucky and caught it in time. The oil starvation to the cams is what causes the chain to break due to the added friction when the cams spin. The chain is not designed to withstand the forces from a cam starting to seize. The phaser also gets messed up and causes the sprocket to move wildly which bucks the cam when the phaser hits the stops without having oil pressure to ease it to the stop.
@@APR_Customs The truly crazy thing about this is there is no mention in the ford/lincoln shop manual about this filter needing to be cleaned when doing the timing chain. Nothing in there that it even exists. Not one of the timing kits I have seen make mention of this filter either. Nothing stated about replacing those housings when the chain gets done. That is the only way to replace the screens other than buying ones from these folks. This video is the only thing I have found about the existence of these screens. Ford does some pretty shady stuff. I just had to replace all of the subframe to body bushings on my Lincoln. I ordered the fronts and when I went to order the rears ford states that you have to buy the whole subframe and it's on national back order. The whole frame is 800 bucks and another 500 to ship it freight. I key in the part number for the subframe and low and behold it is used in other vehicles and the bushings were available for the other vehicles and they were all the same part numbers. I ordered them and low and behold they were the correct ones..
A perfect engine rep Build?
What is the torque for the gear nut?
I have one question if possible. I have Hyundai Elantra 2014 1 and 8 engine in Doshi Limited. The problem is that when it is cold, there is a knocking sound from the engine, when it warms up, the engine has no sound at its temperature. The oil does not decrease, there is no smoke, it is good. What could be the problem? thanks.
Thanks for your attention
Hi First thanks for your video i am really benefited My question is that oil pump have a manufacturing defect? In my country many of drivers change it to another one which it came with the 2.0L engine because it have along service time. I hope you respond 😊
Hi, Sorry for the delay. We have not seen a manufacturing defect of the oil pump but rather when the engine fails the debris can destroy the balance shaft bearings. If you open your assembly and find that the oil pump gears are extremely worn or damaged then we recommend a new pump.
Hello, I have a question, are the Hyundai Sonata and Elantra engine oil pumps the same, and if damaged, there may be a knocking sound
Some of the engines have the same pumps. They made different versions of the same pump for different engines. If the balance shaft assembly is failed or oil pump is failed then possible there is a knocking noise. Typically low or no oil pressure the engine will run until it locks up or throws a rod/destroys the bearings.

Awsome video reference. Question ?? Can it possible to take out that pump without removing the complete timming chains ?
Why does NO ONE show this being replaced on all their timing chain jobs on YT.....holy shit. Thank you for the upload. This is the ONLY VIDEO I can find covering this. Thank you SOOOOO much!
Hi where can I find the gears, do you have them available? Please let me know.
Is this timing set up is the same for the 2010 and before models? Mine is a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with 4 bolt pattern. When the timing marks aline one shaft is parallel and the other horizontal, is the timing bad it spins freely but both shafts are not aline
Hello that was an informative video I have a question ❓ I I have installed a balance shaft but after installation, the balance shaft jumped and didn't move. After a lot of try and error, i put two washers between the balance shaft oil pump and frame ladder and I fastened the bolts in the correct order , and everything became okay. Do you think this trick works???
Le felicito profe que cayedra quisiera saber del Sorento engine G4KE el regulador de presión de la bomba como es su posición del pistón pequeño thank you
Nice video please the name of the tool used to remove the nut and the size
How are you, my friend? I am Zaki Muhammad al-Shennawi. I live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I have a 2015 Kia Sportage with the same oil pump. I did a complete renewal of the machine twice and the crankshaft was turned, but unfortunately it did not work and the machine hardened until I was sure that the defect was in the oil pump. I will do a renewal of the machine. Again, but this time you will change the oil pump to a new one. Is the pump installed in the make-up in a certain position or to any position, and is the gear of the pump set to open or close the pump?
Reading some of the comments I was given the impression that you couldn't just replace the whole oil pump assembly. I was able to find the whole oil pump for 400 dollars. Not sure if this was a recent change but it makes swapping the whole unit a much more cost efficient solution when considering machining costs. Especially when considering the parts on the assembly that are pressed in and cannot be rebuilt.
Where to get the balance shaft bearing
Hi! You can buy them at www.asianengineparts.com
I NEED OIL PUMP BEARINGS FOR KIA SPORTAGE 2.4 GASOLINE .THEY HAVE SENT TO OTHER COUNTRIES I WRITE TO THEM FROM GUATEMALA.
It would be nice if you could replace the oil pumps as well. I find it strange those are not available as they are a common part to replace in an overhaul. It seems like if the bearings are scored the oil pump would would be a victim as well.
Can the oil pump be fixed?
Any advice on getting the oil screen back on?
Sorry for the delay! You should be able to lightly tap the edges of the oil screen back into place with a soft blow hammer.
What size Etorx socket for removing the gear bolt? Is it E20?
Can you replace them when they are still in the engine?
Looks like the end that hold the cam phaser, I could be wrong. Im not pulling mine apart for another few weeks. I'll come back to let you know.
hello very helpful! Im working on a 2014 santa fe sport 2.4, the oil pump assembly is a little different then this one. I need the bearing for the balance shafts and will be getting from you. I took assembly apart but the oil pump gears or sprokets are not there? How does this thing pick up oil! thanks Kelly
The oil pump rotors are inside of the piece with the one balance shaft that isnt removable , just took one apart last week
How do you torque the sprocket and keep the timing set? I time the marks, stick a padded screw driver in the counter shafts to keep things from moving . Tighten the sprocket and the timing marks alignment move. There has to be a correct procedure for tightening the toothed sprocket and maintaining the timing marks. The video skips that very important step.
Thank You for your video
Where is this filter located?
I have a Kia 2008 Rondo with a 4 bolt balance shaft. The teeth on the gears broke off, so the pump is shot. I'm having a hard time finding another 4 bolt pump. Does anyone know if the late 6 bolt pump will fit? I heard that it will and you just don't use the 2 additional bolts, but I don't want to buy one and rebuild it if it won't work. Also does anyone know why the teeth would break off? The oil gets chanced every 5K miles and the engine has 115K.
Hey do you happen to know the part number for the 3 seals on that part that seal on the vvt sprocket ?
@Otis Christensen 7T4Z-6C262-AA.
Hi again In my sonata 2015 2.4 MPI I have different oil pump . I found exteriar oil pump only
One last question: what is the torque value needed to secure the sprocket to the pump?
Thank you for the video, I ordered your bearings from your website and they look like quality items. This video was expertly filmed and explained.
PSA*** This is not indicative of all models of Kia/Hyundia 2.4 motors. I have a 2015 Sportage with the 2.4 GDi and while the casing of this pump/B-shaft housing is similar, the internals are not. Key differences are, 1. The relief valve on this one is horizontal, mine is vertical. 2. This one has two pump gears, mine has none, but uses the shaft gears to pump the oil. And 3. Oil pickup is center left as pictured here, mine is center front, closest to the timing gear. (No hidden bolt on mine). I got my bearings from AEP at a great price! Cheaper than buying a replacement assembly!
Thank you for the comment Marcel! You are right that there are different versions based on the year make and model of your 2.4L. For anybody not sure what bearings that they need for their assembly please visit our rebuilding page on our website: www.asianengineparts.com/balance-shaft-rebuilding-kia-hyundai-gm-mazda/
What kind of wrench or socket takes off that chain gear? Where to buy?
Hello! I used a spline 17mm box end extended wrench to get that nut off. Remember it is a reverse thread nut. Left is tight, right is loose. Please reach out with any other questions. Thank you
Very nice work 👏 👍 👌 😀
Thank you very much please continue 🙏
Freakin awesome! Im doing the spun connecting rod bearings on my 16’ santa fe sport 2.4l… just under 58K… lets have another… lol anyway I was really worried about just throwing the pump back in but was also worried about tearing it apart and screwing it up. This video is super helpful! I already have it out for the rod bearings so I will tear it down and order the proper bearings from you guys. Thanks!
Sorry to hear about Santa Fe sport. We hope our bearings help you with your rebuild and have it up and running in no time! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Hi .. do you have to remove the complete timming chain set up ?? Or just the chain of the pump ?
Hi! For what type of engine is this balance shaft? 2.0 136 CRDI? Thank you so much!
Hi thank you for your question. This Balance shaft assembly came out of a 2010 Kia 2.4L. But these balance shafts are also used in the 2.0L by kia as well. If you go to our web site www.asianengineparts.com we have a breakdown of the bearing sizes. I recommend opening your balance shaft and measuring the bearing. Then compare it to our replacement bearings to confirm size. I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to email Sales@asianengineparts.com if you have any further questions!
Hi . So instead of one oil pump Kia and Hyundai they build two oil pump small one. But why all the time they are fail down and damage the interior engine on the high RPM?
Good video on dismantling a completely useless waste of metal, time and engineering! There is absolutely no need for this assembly to exist. It serves no purpose other than to waste metal and create dead weight and more mechanical losses in the engine, What is it balancing? itself? All this engine needs is a simple oil pump about the same capacity as the (two!....) units already inside this thing.
Thank you for your reply - let us know if you have any other questions!
Yes why do They have to over engineer
Aqui no Brasil trocamos essa bomba problemática pelo modelo dos motores Kia 2.0 e não tivemos mais problemas
What is the torque spec for the reverse tread bolt?
I torque all mine at 70 ft. lbs
We agree!
thanks master. How can I get more training on hyundai and kia cars?
Glad you liked the video! AERA or PERA may be a start
@@asianengineparts3996 thanks master
Thank you friend this part was Very helpful I, m in turkmenistan
Glad it was helpful!
Can you tell me where to find the socket to remove the nut from the front sprocket? What type of nut is that?
Hi and sorry for the delayed response. I used a spline 17mm box end extended wrench to get that nut off. Remember it is a reverse thread nut. Left is tight, right is loose. Please reach out with any other questions. Thank you
very helpful video friend, i have a headache of a time with these, getting the engine repaired is not difficult but putting the pump back on after cleaning and visual inspection to have no oil pressure is frustrating, im going to look through AEP thoroughly, finding parts, in stock or not, proves difficult on its own for this particular engine. thanks again and ill be checking out your other videos as well
