Episode 113.3: Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
We just ordered our hiker today
Congrats! Welcome to the family! Which one did you decide to go with?
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy we ordered a 5 x 9 highway deluxe ,we will pick up in Colorado in April ,we live in Saskatchewan Canada ,closer than factory Also they have a free 270 awning offer until Monday so we pulled the trigger 😄
@doughalldorson8663 That is awesome! Ha ha I'm originally from Nova Scotia, I have a brother and a sister in Sask. The 270 awning is awesome, we love ours. We had the hardest time picking the colour for ours. We're excited for you, we were counting the days for ours ha ha
Little Fockers ,great movie Thanks great video
Thank you so much, have a great rest of your day!
Nice to see two people who like each other enjoying time together.
Hi Jeff, and thank you. Although at times I bet she would disagree with that statement. Ha ha just kidding, have a great day!
I love Sedona! Thanks for the drive footage; it's beautiful! Yum, bao buns...feed me! Hey, the creepy crawlies in the rice are just added protein...lol. Bunny's campsite manner needs some work, haha. I think it's a crick, not a brook or a stream; I'm just saying. Please tell me you at least bought two pins, so you have a spare.
Ha ha I think you covered all the bases for this video! They didn't have a long enough pin for an extra, but I did buy 6 of the spring clips (they had them as a pack of three). So I have spares in the truck and trailer! We wanted to go to Slide Rock area but had to change our plans because of the window.
Is that the 17" galley, or 24"?
Hi Neil, we have the 17" galley
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy Thanks couldn't tell for sure; was trying to judge how much max floor space there would be at the foot of the mattress for a small soft dog crate. The notion crossed my mind about completely deleting the rear galley to maximize interior space, since we have all the space in the bed of our truck.
@NeilDorf We have a full mattress in ours, but it would fit a queen. Boof (our Doodle) has a little bed at the section in front section. She's about 80 lbs and fits up there pretty comfy

New subscriber ,great video we are between a teardrop and one like yours ? Any thoughts ? Oh and I love the Sasquatch decor 😀🦧
Ha ha ha a fellow "Squatcher"! When we started looking we were between the Hiker and Bean trailers. We settled on the Hiker because it seemed to fit a lot more of what we were looking for. If you're still in the research phase, we suggest watching Where's Wiseman (they have a tear drop). Matt Dewitt, if you search Hiker they will be most likely the first videos you see. Playingwithsticks camped with a bunch of different style trailers. If there's a question you have on our Hiker, please ask and we will do our best to answer that for you. Thanks for subscribing! @@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy good morning ,thanks for the info I’ll look into it 😄
@doughalldorson8663 You're welcome, and Happy Camping! Let us know what you decided on. We had a lot of fun going over our builds, making changes etc; hope you do too!
In the galley on the top shelf you have wooden type baskets, where did you find them? Thanks
Hi Scott! She found those little wooden boxes, I think they're bamboo, at Walmart. We want to thank you again for all your ideas and suggestions that you've given us. I found a roll of that silver insulation, I was debating if it would work just as well if I installed it on the inside of the fridge box. Have you tried that on your Hiker? I think you mentioned you have one as well?
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuycan you resend the email address you sent before for communicating off RUclips so we can discuss Hiker things
Nice location. Is Aspen on the same side of the freeway as Willow Lake? I've been to Willow kayaking but never noticed Aspen. It looked like you see out over the Rim. Getting cooler up her in Prescott might want to plan another trip here in a few weeks. Drop me a line if you do.
Aspen Campground is just outside Payson, Willow Springs Lake is just a few miles east of the campground.
Thanks for the tour--always fun to see everyone's mods!
Thanks for watching! It's always fun adding things as we go
love your doggos! Very pretty area! Thanks for the video!
Ha ha thank you, we're so happy that they've become little campers now. We are lucky to have such nice camping areas to visit
Green Elephant extendable poles are the bomb! I'm curious as to how you deal with the dishwashing water, I saw the supply jerrycan but noticed your sink just has a hole, do you just use a bucket? Nice setup!!
We really like our green elephants, very sturdy! We have a couple collapsible buckets that the sink drains into. We save the water for putting out our campfires. Thanks for watching!
Nice video/set up. I want one of these, the other day I went on their website and configured the one I want. The wife wants a pop-up trailer. I refuse to get a $10k tent.
We love our Hiker, the nice thing is if she hesitant about spending a lot; you buy a budget friendly Hiker and mod as you go. Thanks for watching and stopping by for a comment!
Hi, can you please point me to where you bought the crates you have in the galley (we need some that fit like that for our new HT). My wife liked both the wooden ones you have on top shelf and the big ones you have on bottom. Thanks much.
Hello! The galley is her domain, but she said she bought both the top wooden boxes and the larger bottom ones both from Walmart. Hope that helps in your search. Thanks for watching!
Can you tell me the brand of your dog bed, and where you got it?
It’s Colaroo, from Amazon. Thanks for watching! 🙂
That tongue weight must be alot with the tire and box
Hi Alan, have never measured the tongue weight so I can't be certain of the amount. The fridge box itself is aluminum, the top rail of it is steel. The box I have on top isn't loaded down with heavy stuff, just the front air vent things, hatchet and stake hammer and things. Think there are videos on how to measure it, will have to look that up. Thanks for the comment!
Not on the doors but on the trailer box by the door frame.
Good video...how about getting in and out of the rig. I added solid cargo trailer handles on the outside of the doors and soft nylon with plastic grip handles on the inside of both doors. Im not as tall but more Grey on the head and it makes for zipping in and out easier.
Some interior handles would be nice for night time, when trying to close the doors. We will try and film more "trailer life" on our next video. Thanks again for all the great ideas!
The big box on the front with the batteries and fridge sitting in the sun will reach 160- 175 degrees and will drain your batteries and overwork the fridge. Suggest getting one of those windshield silver RV protection wrap around and some magnets stick it on when camping to cool that big black box. It drops the temp about65 degrees. Another item for filtered drinking water is a Life Saver...20 litre of water and the filter lasts 20,000 litres. Not cheap but military grade stuff (British Military uses these)
Awesome, great idea! I sometimes leave the door open or cracked so the fridge can draw "cooler" air. Thanks for the heads up on that one!
Lol, thanks for the food porn! I love a properly cooked steak!! You can never go wrong with the OG Roadhouse. That was pretty cool with the constellation projection under your shade.
Ha ha ha anything for you Gannon!! I think he's called Starman, we've had him for ages but we forget to take him out. Just part of our minimalist camping setup we do ha ha. Hope all is well!
Hi! Are the bathrooms flushable or vault?
Hello, at Kaibab they are vault toilets. This campground does a good job keeping them clean on the upside
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy thank you 😊!
Two campsites we've stayed at if you were looking for showers and flushable toilets are Mather Campground and Houston Mesa. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching !
A few comments and questions. A bit low on audio volume, but lots of great info. 1) I had a Parkit360 but sent it back. I didn't like the way their universal hitch mounted like you said to the Hiker. I like your solution but didn't want to do any drilling. You should do a whole video about the universal mount and Hiker. 2) Sounds like there was an issue with the BMS with that battery. Probably nothing with your Hiker electrical system. Resting voltage LiFePo4 is around 13.4V. Charging is 14.4 to 14.6V. Anything under 12V will damage the battery and the BMS should cut power if it's doing it's job. 3) I had the same issue with the straps for the 270 awning. I ended up just using a truckers hitch with some good rope to secure awning. I'm able to really get some leverage on that truckers hitch to get the back bar parallel with the back galley and tie it off. Also, you might want to guy down the middle of the awning between the pole supports to make some gutters when it rains to drain the water. Thanks for the video!
Hi Kyle, my wireless mics weren't working so I had to use a mini boom mic from the wind, sorry on the audio. Thanks for the info on the battery, I'll reach out the battery tech support to make sure everything is ok. This last trip we didn't have any issues. I didn't want to drill into the frame either, so I worked with the holes already there but there was a lot of pain and cursing involved ha ha. Wish there was a lock and roll adapter for it. Would make life so much easier Hope everything is going well
Thanks for the extended tour. I'm glad to hear the drama queen is okay. 😂
Ha ha ha, I'll be sure to tell her!
i have almost the same curtain setup! good choice! love the artwork on the walls. i have a Discplate magnetic poster of a Deer smoking a pipe with a bird in his antlers! lol
Ha ha ha that sounds awesome, wander if I can sneak that into the trailer without her noticing lol
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy she will never know.......
@travelinwithTODD Ha ha ha, will have to see
nice looking Hiker. i love mine. i have a 5x8 highway deluxe. not many options. got the full size toolbox, diamond plate around the camper. i wanted it pretty basic so i can mod it out the way i want.
Hi Todd, we love our's too, it has been great. We were going back and forth on the toolbox, all of that extra space must be nice! Thanks for leaving a message!
@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy your setup is awesome. The toolbox is nice. I have my battery in the box in the corner with two plastic crates next to it. I keep my cords, propane, are, etc in there. I made a walk through video on mine but after watching yours I need to step it up! Lol
@travelinwithTODD We'll have to check it out, it's fun to see what everyone does to their Hikers.
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy i did my walk around the day after i picked mine up so nothing really done to it at that time. i need to do another one
Playing with sticks is a good channel!
Forgot about Playing with Sticks, we watched them trying to decide between a Bean Trailer and Hiker
I like the channel because they show you all different types of teardrops which makes tying to pick one helpful. Keep up the videos, love your hiker!
@ttteg2006 That is true, they do show a bunch on there, and gives you an idea what to look for. Thank you so much, have a great day!
Is there any way to contact you directly
Hi Ferdinand, you can reach out to us through our email, bunnybearaz@gmail.com
The Pinay and I (another white guy) go to Lynx all the time since we only live 2.3 miles away. Have thought about camping there for a kick, surely save money on gas.😎 Where are you guys located in AZ?
Hi Scott! We live in Gilbert. Do you have any favourite campsites up in your neck of the woods?
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuyis that a Metz cap? Not really huh? Is there a way to talk on the phone w/o leaving numbers here? I don't camp around here I usually go East to the White Mountains (Gods country) out there is Alpine, Greir, Springervile....that whole area is outstanding. Do you get the Arizona Highways magazine, oh do so if not. Had major back surgery in April so I'm limited right now. I'm a Spring and Fall/ early winter camper. I'm surprised you guys didn't melt at Lynks. It been hot here but not like your house....thats like Venus hot! I just finished tricking out my XL and load my kitchen stuff. @@scottgorman7166 Hi Scott, shoot us am email at bunnybearaz@gmail.com . It is a Mets cap, been a fan since HoJo, Carter and Strawberry
Great vid. Thank you. Appreciate the shirt. Is that a 260z in the garage?
Thank you! Have a great day, thanks for watching!
Great comments. Living in Canada getting a Mid range XL 5x10 would cost me $18,000 Plus and I would have to go get it. So the cost is too high for us here. The Hiker trailer isn't a super hard build, that's if you have skills to do this. Walls are 3/4" ply doors windows rear door all bought Vintage Tech. So it's just a matter of time to build. Plus instead of buying a colour, just use white aluminum and vinyl wrap it the colour of choice. Also Pathway & Runaway are basically the same trailer.
Hi Alan, what part of Canada are you from? I'm (Charlie) from Nova Scotia. We have seen some cool home made builds all beyond my 9th grade shop class skills ha ha. There is a company out in Edmonton I think that makes some pretty cool looking squaredrops. Forget their name though
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy Hey I'm in Ontario Thunder Bay. Actually there's not much to a Hiker Build. I'm in the process of building an awning for the use of a trailer that is only 5'4" high but can have an awning that will extend to 7" No Hiker option can do that. So building a small low to the ground trailer is my aim. Starting fall of 2024.
@ALANScottDICKSON That's pretty cool, would love to see your progress on your build
Thanks for sharing! Looks like an awesome area to camp! ~Karen & Shannon WOY
It's a great campground, and we loved that campsite. Campsite 7 was a good one too, closer to the lake but the road was a little busier. We were on an offshoot of the main loop, so less traffic. Thanks for watching!
At least the danger from fire was low...real low!
Ha ha there were some pretty good down pours for sure
I love Black Rifle coffee! I've never tried that blend. I do the Thin Blue Line, but always black and iced. How long did that rain last? The camp dance at the end...lol, thanks for leaving it in!!
I'm not a big coffee drinker but I like Tacktisquatch because it isn't bitter. The rain lasted on and off most of the day, think it cleared up after 11 pm'ish. It was really coming down. Ha ha ha always willing to humiliate myself lol
Pinay ayan daytay walis mo?
7:28 really like the idea of stashing all your coffee equipment in the lunchbox. Nice idea!
Fits everything perfectly too. Thanks for watching!
Another fun video from you all. What table is that be the fender? We are looking at all kinds of air for shore power only. Still looking. I did buy a Renology 220w portable solar panel and a long cable to plug into my Goal Zero 1000x.
Ha ha thank you! That table is made by Night Cat
I used to camp and do gold panning at Lynx Creek. Great memories!
We hoped to get down to the lake, but it was packed by the time we made it down there. Gold panning sounds cool, not sure if I have the patience for it though ha ha. Thanks for watching!
Lol, thank you for the outtake! I love Lynx Lake!!
We liked it too, never been there before. Going to book in the spring or fall for next time
There are boxes for the top of the fridge box top that fit perfectly up there. They are in a set of 3.
Hello Campfirestories, thanks for the info. Will look for those
The Hiker was a great choice, becoming part of an HOA, not so much. Some options are a great addition, but many can be had for much less than what Hiker charges to install ( although I think they make a great camper, that’s why I own one 😋 ). For example, “Adventuring with Amanda” has one of my favorite ideas for camp showers, or just getting a frig that plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter and has the capacity for multiple day stays. The 5 x 10 is really nice, that extra foot can make a big difference ( I have a 5x9). Thanks for posting.
Hi Twoweary, will have to check out Adventuring with Amanda. The 5x10 is a great size for us. Thanks for posting!
Well, it looks like that was a nice trip! I was disappointed that you didn't let me see you cut into that steak. It looked like they were closer to well done, but sadly, I'll never know. From all the footage, it was a successful trip with Kloni. He seemed happy to chill under the camper if he wasn't bird-watching! Can't wait to see your next adventure!
I know! We forgot to film how the Steak turned out, but it was delicious. Corn turned out awesome too! Klonie did great, we are so proud of him. He loved watching the birds playing. We have another trip planned soon, we'll be sure to get more food video ha ha!
Love your setup
Hi Peggy, thank you so much!
It looks like a really nice campground! I'm so happy to see Kloni make the trip!! It seems he no longer has that crazy Huskey puppy energy, lol. Hopefully, he didn't miss DDC too much! Can't wait to see part 2!!
He did REALLY awesome! We are so proud of him and Boof too. They came along way from when we tried when they were pups. He got a little cray cray on his walks, but he got better and will get better with more practice too
Love the video! Used your air conditioner prep intake idea and Amazon link, worked great! I didn’t heat them up, just used some RTV sealant and then painted black. Looks great !! Ty!!
Awesome, great idea on the silicone! Will have to add some to our's. Thanks for sharing!
Also, to each their own, the square drop galley vs teardrop curved galley, people make it work regardeless of which one you have.
Very true!
"Bigfoot doesnt believe in you", Ive always love that saying
Ha ha ha, it is a good one! Thanks for the comment, have a great day!
Nice video, maybe no background music in the future it’s not needed, especially with the highway sounds as well.
Thank you for constructive feedback and comment, thanks for watching! Have a great rest of your day!
Our garage opening height is 81inches. Have you measured the height of the trailer+awning? Will it clear 81" opening. Thanksnfornthe video
Hello, I just measured the 270 awning and its height was 80 inches from garage floor to the top. We were also shown on the mounting bracket, that it could be lowered by about an inch if you drop it down to the second holes. Hope that helps
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy thank you!
You're welcome! We'd be glad to help if you need anymore measurements or questions. Have a great day
@@PinayAndtheWhiteGuy another question... how did you add the curt Jack's? I could not find them on the builder
On the XL, they were called "Rear Stabilizer Jacks" and were part of the base Model. We did not have to get them added on
Very nice video, A Hiker is a great, affordable Trailer, you have a very nice setup.. congratulations 🎉, welcome to the Hiker Trailer family. 😎🐢🌽🌲🇺🇸🌎

@bluemoose1972 We won't make it this year, but we do have it on our bucket list to attend one. They do look like fun from the videos we've watched. Will you be there?
