That color would clash with MY "Big Blue", as I call her, but otherwise, the lift looks good... I bought mine used, with what I think, already has about a 2" lift on it... I see some hills here with nasty crests (because of my step rails underneath), that I want to be able to clear, but not sure if I can because of them, so I am interested in adding a couple of more inches of clearance for that.... Once again, I love the end result look, minus the orange.... Should've gone BLACK for it....

Doesn't matter what you do to the solstice performance-wise. Full 3-inch exhaust, aftermarket charge tube's the car is not going to make any more horsepower than it does stock. The ECM has what they call learn down, as you drive the car will automatically learn back to its 260 horsepower. If you add a tune, it will bypass the learn down feature, so you can take advantage of your bolt ons for horsepower! I strongly suggest installing a Trifecta performance, it's worth every penny and more!

Good choice on the aftermarket charge tubes, especially if you go with a Trifecta performance tune which I highly recommend, I think you'll be quite impressed!

The nice thing about the trifecta tune, it can be hooked to your main cruise control button, the one with the yellow light on the steering wheel. You can also hook it to your traction control button, you get to choose which way you want when you buy! Trifecta is the only tune you can switch back and forth from stock to performance tune! I have it on my 2008 GXP aggressive red. Install the tune with 18,000 miles, now have 51,000 miles, 6 years later, absolutely not one problem, car runs really strong. Stock 15 lb of boost. Trifecta performance tune 23 lb of boost. This tune will add about 40 horsepower, 60 more pound feet of torque! All done through your laptop, takes about a week to get the tune sent to you, about 15 minutes to download.

one piston ring and a rod bearing 50 buck fix if pulled out the bottom of the block tho... 300'000 miles, pull all the rods and... E11018 fill the stamp in the rods with 117'000psi filler and off set the crank 1/4 inch ... so its a 5.0 2 valve, if only had a real lath. so its just fill the rods and hand file the worn out spots. aluminum bearings = yuck. need to bug the guy down the road to make some solid steel rod bearings... starts as a strip of sheet metal off a hot roller from the recyclers, $16/sqft on 11 gauge. and once that forming jig is made using an old rod and a machined pipe end, each rod bearing costs $4.48usd twice as hard as the oem aluminum.

i have the 96 romeo npi. I believe this motor is actually a pre npi. So it has done really well for what it is. A pi intake/ cams alone would have woken things up on the 98 gt heads

Did you really have to use a half inch breaker bar and grabbing it at the end to turn the motor over?I’ve never heard of the spring company. Are you Springs from overseas? Did you have them checked before you installed them? The only job that the ratchet mechanism you ground the three teeth off does it hold tension on the chains with the engine off. Oil pressure is what puts pressure on the tensioners. The only way to drop the tension is to drop oil pressure.I’d be more concerned about keeping the bearings in the bottom end than wearing out the guides

Idk if you’re familiar with Richard Holdener or not, but he has some dyno vids of pre PI bottom ends with ported and cammed PI top ends that make over 400hp N/A. Pretty close to what early stock coyote’s were making. I’ve personally saw early 4.6 4 valves go fairly deep into the 5’s 1/8 mile with forged bottom and a turbo. There’s a lot of potential in these little engines.

nice stuff to tinker with that isn't the... tiller case on the tractor? that some Columbian put a pot metal bearing in... now it's a 4 inch ford with a 14 time higher load ratting. 4k in bills that can just pop up... keep the spare parts floating around? "recycled 8.8 because I.R.S."
