Making Chaos Your Craft: How To Find Your Art Style FASTER
Many artists view their inconsistency as a weakness. I see it as the best toolbox for finding your art style.

How to Survive a Daily Art Challenge
Thank you!
My spin on this hat been "Make art, you trash"
I once saw someone make the most beautiful miniature scrapbook I’ve ever seen and the top comment was this is such a rich, white woman hobby my God, who actually does this and I just have to think that person must be so sad to see someone enjoy their time to do something and think They need to be brought down a peg remember everybody you don’t need to have the greatest amount of skill or be the most forward thinking artist you just have to have fun that’s art
I know precisely what bowl video you’re talking about
❤❤❤❤
❤
Hobbies are something that has been lost, people think art is childish or silly if it’s not a career, people have forgotten to play with creating things for fun. Refreshing to see like minded souls are still passionate for play.
I swear. This wasn't a problem 5 years ago. It wasn't one 10 years ago either. TikTok's whole "Anyone can run a shop through us!" shtick has been a net negative.
We can do whatever we want, but we're too afraid that we'll get judged. Doing something against law is one thing, but doing something completely legal but so called "weird" is another. STOP COMPARING ONE TO THE OTHER, OUR TIME ON EARTH IS SHORT, SO STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AND CARE ABOUT YOURSELF FOR ONCE
AI should be doing the jobs we don't want to do, not making art or writing stories.
Fully agreed, also that looks sick asf
I’m currently making a mushroom hat, and I have no clue what I’m doing. I’m mainly just doing what makes sense. Do I know if it’s gonna work? Heck no. Is it fun? Heck yes. I literally started it with a thought, “why not start it now?”
Well it hurting me eyes is enough for me not to like it
When I was in middle school, we had a project where we were to draw a self portrait. I absolutely screwed mine up, and I thought it looked like an ugly witch so I added a mole with hair and just kept adding ugly features, like a large pointed nose. My teacher liked it so much he hung it up on the wall for the rest of the year! Even one of my (what I consider) most failed projects had an impact!
It most likely just hit more favor with the algorithm besides that I have no idea
So the tape took out all the cool colors. No ones gonna mention that? '
I just had this debate with myself over buying a cosplay or making it myself. I knew it would cost as much, and the time it takes to put it together, but the satisfaction of having made it and made it my own is well worth the time spent.
Sometimes we forget we have free will
I love this sentiment. If it was meant to be a hack or diy then I might get the cynicism. But art for the sake of just doing something creative and fun for yourself is it’s own thing and honestly very important.
This is not a good versus evil issue. it’s a situation where hurting people are hurting other people who are then retaliating. I support AI but I do not support it aggressively. It would not hurt me or my plans for the future if I lost access to that tool. In fact, there are many times when getting it to make the thing that I need for the project takes longer than just making it myself. I would love a future where all art is made for the love of creativity and not for profit. While AI would be a step in that direction. It wouldn’t be as big step as people think. Everyone has free time in their day and most of the time it gets squandered on mindless entertainment, rather than productive creativity. I have a friend who spent two years making a pilot episode for a TV show that he wants to publish on RUclips. I mean sure, if we were living in that Star Trek future then he could’ve made the whole show in a week, but he’s still gonna make it. If everyone was like that, then we would be in that future already. Shortening the number of steps won’t do you any good if you never get off the couch. I don’t want to get stuck in the drama. For the most part, I just want to stay in my lane and tell my stories. I will use whatever tools that are at my disposal. when people start acting aggressive towards me it makes me want to start supporting a little more aggressively, but that would be a mistake. Videos like this always take the wind out of the sales. We’re all just people who are hurting. When it comes to subject matters like art, the people are more important than problems.
i feel like techbros who say ai will make artists obsolete or whatever forget or don't know a critical thing about art: it's a hobby. we make art because we enjoy it. it's not a means to an end, it can be just as gratifying as the end result. and because of that, even the shittiest mspaint scribble has more soul than anything made by generative ai could ever hope to have.
It seems like... you unintentionally created a very cool portrait with the edges of the stickers. A man with big ears, spiky hair and a nice scarf. The final result is beautiful and stylish but at first I thought you were going in this portrait direction 😅
My new favourite thing for art is getting old books that r a damaged and use them for art. A blank piece of paper is so daunting to me, so it helps! I know book lovers will hate me for this 😅
Not me going to steal my husbands painters tape. 😂 I love this!
I make zines, and the process I see a lot of people do (which I am not bashing btw) is making them digitally and printing them out. I make mine by hand and photocopy them. Or I make them and NOT photocopy them so that i only ever have one to put out or trade. It makes it more fun for me. The extra steps, trying to think of how to fit text on a page, leaving it somewhere knowing it’s gone forever, that’s the fun of it for me.
you rock dude!
I'm wel into my 40s aaaaaand i honestly hope i never "find my style"... my art has consistently evolved over the years and the fact that it continues to do so after 4 decades is what keeps me interested in art. It's my medication and my meditation. Art is the very air within my lungs.
Really needed to hear that! Recently been complaining about how inconsistent my artstyle is, but this helps :D
It was good until it wasn't. The bane of all artists: improving upon their creation until it actually ends up worse.
Sometimes I'll see a video and I'll go Man this is stupider than the normal thing yet it's cool to see somebody was able to do it this particular way even if it's worse.
with the rise of usage of ai generated "art", i feel like a lot fewer people are understanding that art is so much more than just the finished product. its a process. ai is just part of a larger issue of the commodification of art, but if you ask someone who uses ai to generate pictures why they do it, you can tell theres a huge disconnect between them and the artistic process.
like genuinely, ai artists are some of the most anti-art people i have ever had the misfortune of interacting with
Whoa when you took the tape off and it looked like all that marker scratching was behind the letters that was so cool.
A wise man once said, if you never fail, you never find new things
Beep Boop 😄
People also don't have to support you, and you sharing this on the internet makes you liable to receive that response. You sound just as immature as the commenters you lament.
how is his response immature exactly? the point he is making un the video is that art can just be fone for fun, and that a huge part of what makes art what it is is the process. the example given about the bowl is just to show how people tend to undermine the point of art by overemphasizing the finished product and dismissing or outright ridiculing the process.
Art IS inherently pointless and useless and it is beautiful BECAUSE it is useless and pointless. Art is created out of nothing for nothing, yet we value them. We can value it based on the use and practicality that may have baked into an art piece. Art is the unfiltered expulsion of a person's mind, only held back by the constraints of physics.
The internet has ruined hobbies. Every hobbie has to he a side hustle now. You cant just like art or baking or sewing. You have to turn it into the most efficient way to make money
i'm a little sad you touched up the edges on this piece, i was really enjoying the line texture 😔 glad the person who bought it disagreed with me though haha
Yes. You can do things just because you want to but that’s also why we there are laws or everyday would be the purge.
Ai art cant be copyrighted so you can earn money off of someone else's Ai art as they did not create just directed the ai how to do so and since an ai isnt human and created the picture that picture is free domain for everyone
Just for the people who are complaining that ai art is stealing just steal it back (I don't endorse stealing or making money at others expense)
I absolutely LOVE your art, and have to admit that I also love the quality of your markers! Thank you for sharing, even to old gals (63) like me!❤
the way the white paint bled under the tape actually looks soo cool!!
The main issue with AI art isn’t computer generation, it’s the stolen content. Art is scanned and collaged into new pieces, without credit or compensation to the artist. It’s intellectual theft, as well as monetary
Except that's not how ai works I'll put it into prospectuve if you where learning art and you saw the Mona Lisa and got inspiration and decided to paint a portrait of a friend do you have to credit the Mona Lisa. If you use ai you'll learn that it's pretty much impossible to make the same image twice
Plus ai art can't be copyrighted because humans are the only ones protected by the copyright law and since the AI is making the art and not a human it is free range no matter how much creative input you put into it
Cool take. VERY cool art piece!!!
it may also be the reveal is salifying. it a story and an artwork in one. id have to see the other. could just be the algorithm
Once again, I love the art. Keep going, bro I hope you go far someday!
this is a really sad symptom of capitalism
100% agree
scout stickers :3
Nuh uh
I was panicking that he wasnt going to outline that one part of the T. I literally did that wierd fist clench thing when he finally did it lmao
