I've only known about this remix for ten minutes but it's already one of my favorite things in the world. Gosh....... I grew up thinking the Genesis sound fonts weren't as good as Super NES and overall felt like Super NES was superior but I've been learning the error of my ways in adulthood. This stuff here is peak.
It depends on how you look at it. The Super Nintendo was technically more powerful with the use of pre-recorded instruments, but the Genesis was basically an old Yamaha keyboard with more limited use of prerecorded sounds. Both excelled in different ways.

Yes. The team understands this will seem like a weird choice for now, but Bass will be playable. The primary goal for MMXR is to wrap up the loose ends from the Classic series, so there will be context and explanations Bass's inclusion.

I neglected to list the sources for instruments for the first several MMXR videos, but for this one I used a mixed selection of guitars from Mega Man X, X2, X6, Zero Collection, and ZX. I alternated samples between notes for the lead guitar to simulate sound variation.

Proof the genesis sound chip wasn't bad. Developers just didn't know how to properly utilize it. This is peak genesis sound design.
why is Bass with the hunter trio?
This fangame will address the gap between the Classic and X series and attempt to wrap up loose ends. Bass will be playable as part of this premise. There will be in-game explanations for all of this. Though Bass's inclusion is also inspired by his appearance in one of the animated teasers for the canceled Rockman Online game.
i'm more shocked that Bass is still active since at this point he's BEYOND outdated, that is if he wasn't put out of comission by the goverment after the classic series. but alas it's a fan game
@@ThatGuy89002 Efforts are being taken to make sure Bass's inclusion makes sense in respect to the series' lore and in the context of the fan game's narrative. Bass's status as an outdated robot will be addressed along with how and why he is functional, among other things that are a bit spoilery to talk about this early in development. It is a choice that everyone on the dev team is aware will come across as weird, which is why we are approaching it with extra care. It was something I questioned myself when I was first brought onto the team, and there have been many behind-the-scenes discussions for how to best approach this.
well your project, your call. i just think it's a odd decision from the get go, i'm sure you guys prolly thought of a reason of why a severely outdated model with a lesser AI than the average reploid, severely outgunned by your average mechaniloid that was decomissioned by the goverment around 100 years ago got put out of decomissioned and likely had to be upgraded in order to keep up with the average hunter. i'm rather curious to see the reasoning behind it cause i do think it would likely be way more cost effective to get a new reploid hunter than go through the effort with Bass....specially cause the second Bass was brought back on line he'd be the last thing from "cooperative"
base Bass would basically be a Renault FT going up against a Merkava IV of the average hunter. and i doubt he'd be letting reploid engineers or the likes of it touch him while he's awaken. Bottom line i'm trying to get across is: the Effort that would need to go on Bass to make him reliable against mavericks would be too great, at that point you might aswell make a new reploid for the express pourpose of being a maverick hunter. Bass would need: new armor, weapons, boosters if we're keeping his dash, a new AI module since his Robot master AI core is basically prehistoric in 21XX, maybe even more outdated than the average mechaniloid AI. i'm not trying to be a dick, i'm mainly pointing out the issues with Bass being there and i'm am very curious to see how are you even going to handle it

I like how you're essentially putting 4 songs together and created an even more chill version than any of them. Makes me think of a hunter base where everything goes on normally and calmly but prepared for battle. Perfectly captures the vibe of the hunter base, I'd say even better than Capcom themselves did

In my head picturing a monster stumbling into the boss chamber gasping out "Link is here!" And then we cut to Link who isn't speed running, but steadily fighting his way in and its clear he's unstoppable. In other words this isnt the palace theme its Links as he invades the palace. Great remake
