Lost Patrol - A Tribute To Big Country - RESTLESS NATIVES
The rain the mud the bottles of piss flying through the air , Billy Bragg being pelted. Then U2 came on and the clouds parted. What a day.
Soaked for 12 hours solid. Fun though!
That me lol dancing white top and black shades little white patch in my hair
I was there ...wasn't into U2 much but was there for the Ramones and massive spear of destiny fan didn't miss a gig that year including world service tour....bona asked for someone to tell a joke i think there was sound issue and i think shouted...Margaret Thatcher
The unforgetable fire tour
Waow!!!
Great capture of audience who is connect with a band - musicsogood...
Solid
The best band in the world
I was there, almost at the front in my Alarm poppy denim jacket. My first U2 gig.
Bloody great lads......you nailed it.
hell of a tune
I was there, what a day that was!
Y'all are dead back there, we was vibing at the front 🤭
just shot two vids then we went to the front👍
Omg thank you!
Just remembered this gig, just cause it’s the longest day😂, it was pretty awesome, pissed it down people were sliding around in the mud naked and shit, what a day and I didn’t care one bit about being soaked to the skin
First time I saw u2 live as a 16 year old. Some support acts too. Billy Bragg,REM,Ramones Pissed it down all day
Awesome guy’s
Love it guys brilliant top class 🎸🎸🥁
Wow, you’re back. Awesome lads 🎸🎸🎸🥁
That Car park was murder to get of , fantasic day
Great job guys ! Killer guitar , killer tone. Great vocals , and a great song ,I always had thought the lyrics for this song were very meaningful , the words remind me of the Scottish Letter of Independence , that document tells of a history of the Scots that originates from the lost 10 tribes of Israel
Animo muchachos. Big country x ever
Hut ab. Grüße aus Deutschland !
Fantastic, love the the vocal harmonies, in the storm
Cheers👍
What the bloody hell was I doing at the end there? 😂😂
😝
Brilliant guitar work and drums, just missing Stuart’s vocals, but hay I would have loved to have been there .
Cheers
🏴👏 brilliant cover guys 👏🏴
The Pagoda shelter is at the Didcot Railway Centre today at their 'Didcot Halt'.
The original Stockcross shelter or just an example?
@@TheBBist-xh7iq the original one . They rescued it when the line closed . They also rescued Welford Park Ticket office.
we and mates went down in a van from Oldham- night before- then went for it big time. I had first seen U2 in 81 - still seeing them to this day so over 100 gigs- but this had special memories xx
What a fucking day that was went in fully clothed sliding down the banks naked met a girl went home naked covered in mud pre mobile phones and all that shit. Married the girl I met tow awesome children my son now 30 years old massive U2 fan unfortunately the marriage didn’t last still love her to bit we are still best friends what more can I say
I was there for my favourite band of all time the Ramones, although a fan of U2 and REM both whom I had already seen previously. Kinda cheesed off that REM played 2nd to U2 that day. Great slideshow. Thanks
I don't remember the rain! OMG. Time and booze, what does it do to us? I recall it being muddy but that's about it LOL. I was there for the Ramones, first time I saw them, went to every UK tour after till they quit. REM, bored, went for a burger. 10 years later I paid to watch them headline MK bowl, the irony.
Great job,like this very much.
I went to the Longest Day the year after too and everybody was going down with heatstroke. Unbelievable difference in the weather. I loved them both though. Great memories!
great day, rained all day but rain stopped as soon as U2 came on.went home in my old cortina after getting it stuck
U2 in milton Keynes ermmm
great cover
I went with my younger brother. We got the train from Blackpool. Stupidly I wore slip-on shoes (it was the 80's). As soon as U2 opened up with 11 O'clock Tick Tock the crowd surged forward and I was helplessly swept across the muddy field minus one shoe. The crowd then recoiled and miraculously my foot landed back in my lonesome shoe. Thank you Lord! I never wore slip-on shoes again!
LOL I had five inch heeled stiletto boots on!!!! I probably single handedly saved the bowl from flooding by spiking it all over. I was in my 20's and fashion was more important than comfort and sense went out of the window!!
Same thing happened to me but never found my shoes! I had to go to the first aid tent cos I stood on an umbrella spoke! They gave me a pair of woolly socks which soon got caked in mud so ended up barefoot!! Best day!!
Brilliant!!
Gabba Gabba Hey.Ramones best band that day.
The day I learned to count to four....."1, 2, 3, 4..." ;-)
Bit late to the party but this is amazing!!!!!
COOL😎🍺🍺🍺🍺👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸👌
Bralliant!
I was there don't remember much about the day drank too much cider
not that bottled stuff they were selling inside the bowl....2L bottles of paint stripper?
I’m in that 2nd picture
2:45 it's Greg Carrol down trowing wires
Mixed feelings about this day, U2 were absolutely fantastic. Only weeks later was there big break through gig at Live Aid. I read afterwards that the band could not believe the rain soaked crowd gave them the reception they did. Regrets , I was drunk for most of the day and have no recollection of REM, Ramones or Billy Braggs set. I remember Spear of Destiny though who were great, a mud slide and two huge blokes having a massive brutal scrap in front of the stage.
I puked after having the most disgusting noodles 🤣
Funniest thing was that everyone was pissing in the bushes at the top of the slope where the "mudslide" was.
Nice and super quolity! Gor For It!!!
fabulous well done
Limped there in a rusty Fiat 500, went absolutely mad and haven’t stopped going to U2 since. The Fiat however .....
