F-16 "Passionate Patsy" P-47 paint scheme time lapse
Luke AFB aircraft structural maintainers apply a paint scheme paying homage to the 310th Fighter Squadron's 80 years of continued service. The paint scheme takes after that of the "Passionate Patsy" P-47 Thunderbolt flown during WWII.
This was the very first livery we were tasked with painting for the 56th Fighter Wing. Prior to this, our crew, made up of a lot of first time painters, only had experience painting single and two toned gray aircraft. There were a lot of headaches, setbacks, and errors we worked through. Although it's not as flashy as some other liveries, we were proud once it left the hangar. Amateur work....
How is XAI67X better than anything else right now?
My Son flew that jet last weekend. He just sent me the pictures!
Impressive job! Well done!
terrible paint scheme....lol
Looks fantastic 👍
Hard to believe that the F-16 is 50 year old design.
Nice job, Paint Barn!!
Ive torn that jet apart and put it back together multiple times. 310th tophats baby
To be blunt, this doesn't look very good...my fault lies with the designer, not those applying the paint (who did an EXCELLENT job)
Would have been nice to get a better presentation of the finished product ….
Not a very good "Passionate Patsy" without a Patsy
What a tremendous waste of time and resources.
Never seen a paint crew move that fast...🙄...😅😂🤣
it's just ugly. I get the tribute and all, but this looked great on a different plane because it was a different plane. This is the Ring of power of paint jobs.
At first I thought that was zinc chromate primer on the top!😯
Painted the static ports good job paint barn clearly says don't paint 🙄 thanks for driving that alpha n
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you probably have bad eye sight, but the antenna and static probes are clearly masked off. The masking is removed at the end of the video.
@@fatalldesires the static ports it's aft of the aoa probes and fwd of the canopy underneath the tear drop
@jasonancrisp7582 a quarter sized area on both sides with a few small holes, yes. The area that needed to be masked was.
@@fatalldesires I think you should look again cause they primed the area and proceeded to paint right over in thusly holes were covered over with primer and paint
@@jasonancrisp7582those spots had masking applied to them before sanding was even started. And remasked before spraying was done. 👍🏼
Excellent..
34 trillion in debt and counting
Saund???
Airframers having way too much fun :) Sweet livery folks!!
Why did you paint the top green, then sand it all off and then paint it green again?
How long from start to finish did it take?
I was stationed at Luke AFB in 1987/88. I worked for the 58th EMS and I was a painter. It looks like they have a nicer building to work in now. How neat it is that they were able to do the P-47 pint scheme. I wish that I would have fit in better but it was a good experience.
Gray on gray. Cool.
Thanks for all the work! Painting USA War Birds is a great tradition!
Not that color green! Sorry boss, I fix!
That is messed up.
Lots of waste and lost time in that video.
Not good at all
As soon as the OD green was put on, I knew this is going to be special
bring back livery like this
I love this.
You could slop barrels of neon green and fluorescent orange paint on an F-16 and it would still be the prettiest machine to ever fly. While this is a great paint scheme, I'm still partial to this one... on the old Thornton Aviation T-38 imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/4/9/1/0737194.jpg?v=v40
Add some wingtip external fuel cells would be awesome.
Thats awesome, there was a P-47 that is shown in several WW2 documentaries called Hun Hunter, that was a very cool paint job too!!
That’s awesome. As a civilian I had the good fortune to get to fly the F16 Falcon. It was amazing. I was awarded a 9g pin and certificate. I had a great video of the flight I took with my compact super C vhs, and left it in my VHS tape player so the next day my wife turned it into a soap opera. She’s my ex wife!
We need to see more modern fighters painted in tribute liveries to the old heroes of wars gone by.
I want to see one painted with like, Candyapple Red with absurd metal flake, Grabber Green, Plum-Crazy Purple, a bunch of ghost flames- just some kind of insane automotive-style paint job.
I would have thought they would have used the a10 for this seeing as it carrys the name tunderbolt like the p47
Though it still looks awesome on the F16
Excellent idea and finished product. Lately I have been seeing a few brand new Peterbilts and Kenworths come off the assembly line with throw back paint schemes from the 60's 70's and the 80's. I like it.
Is it weird that it bugs me that they dont strip the old paint and they just paint over it? dosen't it make the jet heavyer? Am i crazy for thinking so?
Mine will be black with nasty set of teeth.
*0 years ago, they Did not have such a beautiful weapon as this thing is. Nor did they have the power this has. Not to mention the tech it has. Maybe today the f 16 may not be number one Plane. but it has the pride and power of the weapon it was to them 80 years ago I think they did a wonderful job honoring the p-47. just imagine the server damage they could have done if this was the p-47 then
Just shut the f up and enjoy the f’n video. Thanks!
Stavros in Florida caught your video and enjoyed it thank you. Wow what a beautiful, slick paint scheme.
Meh
Horrible…. Pitiful…. If you wanna see a cool badass paint scheme on a f16 take a look at new zelean f16.
Loud and Proud well done.
Don’t forget the plasma coating for it to travel over the aircraft creating a worm hole around the plane.
