What a sad story. I can't stop smoking so I get him a little bit. Imagine feeling inadequate in the world, feeling like a fraud, being a fraud sometimes, and so completely lost that death is the only way out. It was for him. So sad.
Lovely read. As a creative with dopamine deficiency due to early substance use, I know what this fight feels like and I feel really sad that Matthew's chances were so small. He was given opiates from 30 days old so his brain had been altered way too early. Still he fought and made something of his life. Goodbye Mattie; Goodbye Chandler
Amazing book. This is sad and he made it funny.
I really liked reading his story (I followed along with the actual book) ❤ RIP, Matty
Does anyone remember the muppet show? Hecklers where up in gallery.. taking the pee ? Jim Henderson created all that .. most of society are exactly like the hecklers.. just to sit there and do that .. Judge on everyone up in the gallery of life 😁
What Matt wanted passionately.. was not to be remembered as a “Friends character” who we all grew up on it every week back then.. he wanted to be remembered as an individual who’d just help someone else if he could.. that’s actually what we all should be doing in general.. one thing nice each day
Listening to this, he makes me crying so much, I am unable to pursue.. I cannot watch him on Friends now without thinking of his sad life even every body loves him…
29:00 broke me as a mom. No 5 year old should be on a airplane by themselves!!! 😢
It was normal back then so you can’t blame the parents
Self indulgent tripe
words from a truly compassionate person
@stevejacobsen3006 blames addiction but not himself
Mental illness is tricky. You can ask a person with a cough to seek treatment but you can't ask them to stop coughing. You get??
@@DanielAsuquoMidas mental illness is a cop-out. You choose to drink or you don't.
Never saw a single episode of Friends. I love this guy in spite of it. But I'm also in recovery for a long time

You'll love friends. Especially after this
I can hear neurological problems. I heard it in Scott Weiland. Now I know what people sound like when they are going to die. People with money.
If you double the speed, he almost sounds normal. Its so sad, you would have never known other than the weight fluxation every seanon of friends 😢😢😢😢😢❤❤
He wasn't going to make it. After listening to this audiobook. He was never going to win this war. R.I.P Matty.
Sad right?? It took over his whole life.
Rest in peace matty
was he really a narcissist?
Sounds so nice to hear audio of his book!
Con una ayudante lesbiana y encima durmiendo en la misma habitación?? que ASCO!! , y en un centro de rehabilitación.!!
Corine, thank you so much for posting this! I’d bought his book when it first came out, began reading it and then he passed.😢 I’d see it by my bed and be so sad I had to turn it over because I couldn’t bear to look at his face staring up at me. I didn’t have the heart to finish it but then saw your post and couldn’t resist hearing the rest of it in his own voice telling his story. Thank you for giving me one last chance to find closure. He was my favorite.❤️
Que horror!! Imposible que se enamorara de una mujer cuando solo pensaba en la adicción. Creo que las que salieron con él solo lo hacian porque era muy famoso y unas interesadas.
Thank you for posting this I heard MPs audio book on Spotify and I couldn't still listening to it as one of millions who feels like they know MP through friends™ and someone also who has faced drug addiction this is one of very books from the secular world that really means something to me I admire his honesty and very real description of the highs and Lows of addiction is also a great insight into the running of friends™ anyway thank you for posting this I don't actually have Spotify or anything anymore so yes I will be listening to this until its finished probably at work and probably again and again in the future...so thank you
MattMan 😭🦇🕊
Wish u put it in order better but im glad i get to listen to this book thank u
Thank you so much for this 🙏🏼
where is chapter 10, 11,12 and 13
It's really sad that one of the main reasons Matthew suffered was his parents. He was never married, broken , depressed all alone and died very young at 54.while his parents both of them are still alive, his father is 84 and his mother idk. But both of them married again lived an ordenery life. The clear message of this chapter is that if you're not ready to become a parent don't become. They destroyed the life of an innocent soul just for minutes of fun and irresponsibility.
Lmaoooo great book
dude literally had it all. Watching friends isn’t the same now.
Ikr😭
He’s slurring but still should not be gone
I ❤ u Matty
Is this his actual voice or AI?
This is 100% his voice. He mentioned it in an interview he did in Canada prior to his death.
I'm so grateful to have stumbled on this. Bless you <3
“ self knowledge avails you nothing “ well damn
“ My mind is out to kill me “ yup.. me too
2 patterns repeat. Unethical behavior and lack of empathy. How he treats doctors and people. Using women as sex objects to be used abused and dumped. Then harbors negative feelings when they move on and find meaningful relationships. Lack of love even for himself, then finds a way to to get attention and the cycle repeats.

@phpowerstix- Get over yourself. If you go around hating everyone you disagree with you won't have anyone and nobody will want to be around you. Plonker!
Does anyone know about Billionaire Howard Hughes?

He is at peace now❤️🙏😔
How do you know?
He's not alive @@Brett.D
that doesn't mean that he's in peace or not dah@@MistyMitchell-b5o
There Were cell phones in 1994 sorry
At least he wasnt born gay..and have to figure out (THAT) on his own.
SO HOW MANY COMMERCIAL BREAKS ARE ON THIS ..TWO SO FAR
He sounds like he has an excuse for all his failures. No accountability. Always someone else's fault.
If you've never had a parent who never loved you and have been addicted to something because they involved you in their crazy escapades you will never understand this the word accountability is a two-way street not one person should not be held accountable if your held accountable someone else needs to be held accountable too if no one understands that in order for someone to be held accountable everyone must be held accountable then this entire generation is stuck in a moral generational Gap because so many parents are blamed for what their kids do but with this in mind I am a Christian who also believes in respecting your parents and yes I don't believe and blaming my parents for my problems if I have a problem I am going to blame myself for it no argument end of story but if you were going to come and try and make someone else feel bad because they are trying to tell you an honest to God story about how they got to this point in their life then don't bother commenting on something that you have no concept of if you've never walked a mile in someone else's Marcus's don't be so quick to judge
Exactly!
Could not agree MORE with these replies. This book, his countless interviews and admissions, his acknowledgment of what pain/inconveniences he caused himself AND his loved ones, etc = TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY! If facing such controversial personal struggles head-on and admitting when you fall short as you try taking ACCOUNTABILITY isn'tactually taking accountability, then what is?? Tell us, what is enough for YOU to be content with HIS level of "accountability". Doubt you've ever pubclicly confessed a single fault of your own. Yet, here you are: judging someone who has written a book and had the nation's eyes and judgements on them any time they left home, spoke openly about it...you name it. NO WAY you understand HIS life..smh People really need to focus their concerns on their own issues and show grace to those focusing on theirs.
Do not judge .. People are complicated and sensitive beings..
Poor rich junkie
Thank you!! His story is saving me. I’m in active alcohol addiction and AA.... definitely God ! 💪🙏🏽❤️🩹
Awesome. Keep going!!! God is good.
