Bilge Pump, Boathook, or Water Cannon?
Просмотров 11 тыс.17 лет назад
Tim and I decided to put the Bridgenorth Bailer through it's paces, and our research shows that this is really about the most fun you'll ever have with a bilge pump. It's the Swiss Army knife of water pumping boathooks. I picked one up at Fisheries Supply in Seattle a few weeks ago, and wish they'd had the 8 foot version in stock, as our only frustration with this one was that it was too easy t...
Folding Crab Trap Great for Small Boats
Просмотров 91 тыс.17 лет назад
Ever heard of the Flex Fold crab trap? We took our video camera into Fisheries Supply, one of our favorite marine stores in Seattle, and tried out the exciting, flexing, folding action. Actually, this is a really nice accessory to keep on your boat for occasional crabbing. By no means the cheapest, but probably the best folding crab trap we've seen. Enjoy!
Torqeedo Travel 801 Electric Outboard Test
Просмотров 181 тыс.17 лет назад
Navagear.com gets its hands on a Torqeedo Travel 801 electric outboard. We take it out of it's waterproof bag, put it together, and take it for a spin. Works like a small outboard, but no gas! Read more about our impressions at Navagear.com.
has anyone found any tips for applying the front piece? it is very tricky
Just inherited one of these from a family member. Glad there are videos explaining how to assemble the Klepper kayak as I’d be lost without these videos.
Why is the image quality so terrible?
A friend of mine has a Klepper two seater in her basement...this video gives me the courage to even try to see if all the parts are still together. I see the paddles and will look for them. They used it pretty often and were meticulous with care so I am sure it will be OK!
Perhaps one of the most important part of video where you fold back trap and attach tension cord is missing....
So Klepper isn't really a "foldable". It's more like a "build-in-place". Less like a pop-up tent, and more like M*A*S*H.
rather listen to my 2 cycle gas motor than those musicians
Advantage of this thing is that it can go every where.
145 dollars make mine for free and usually catch double what others next to me catch
Why always testing on those inflatable boat and not a regular 14-16 ft aluminum? I like electric motor but if you can't get to 10mph with that price you are wasting money and time.
Bad ass i do a heist run through woods hit river bank put it together n im in nother county in under 8 minutes....... sweet.....hittn the Mississippi like tom sawyer
Has anyone had experience climbing in a Klepper Aerius II if you are in the water. I want to use it for snorkeling so need to be able to get in and out easily.
Though I've not tried to regularly get into my Aerius II from deep water, it has a moderately wide beam and long length for stability, so could work. I've done it before, clumsily, but it would require practice and strength to do it regularly. The extra length of the open cockpit of the II allows more space to manouver than smaller boats. I've found Sit-on-Top models easier to get on and off in deeper water, but these lack portability.
Yikes, $150. that is insane for different reasons. Starting with recommending such a thing.
these are nice but they are way out of line with the price
I bought one for $20 at a yard sale I guess it's the best $20 I spent
I have one of these from 2008 and it still performs very well, not much degradation of the battery if any and I didn't even take very good care of it.
where can i buy that stuff ?
Wye not add a manual switch for the bilge pump a few leftover inches is normal and expected for most boat stop trying to invent useless trash and invest your money in a manual switch
Conception and Design is far away from logic... Please hire a designer for your future motor as it looks not user friendly at all to mount them.
Walmart has a trap for about 6 bucks , use it about10 times an toss
Aaron--thanks! I have a really old double like yours--since my husband is no longer around to put it together, I have been worried about not knowing how. I'm heading to a lagoon in Bolinas, Ca. in a few weeks! This will help! I too went to school with a Klepper--Karen in Tennessee. She was related to the boat family!
i do the same thing. i live near a ake and i pack my inflatable kayak in a backpack and ride down to the lake to paddle. i recommend looking at sevylors inflatable kayaks.
It looks calming
nice kayak.
if you want a battery powered motor buy a trolling motor alot cheaper and simple, but real men buy gas powered outboards,my 50hp yamaha 2-stroke would sink that boat lol
Seems like a waste of money for $150!!! That type of folding construction is notorious for being extremely difficult to return to its storage shape. This horrible idea has been used on many things like tents and sun visors and everyone I have seen has been awkward and imperfect. I suspect you had many of the same troubles since the video only cuts at the point you are trying to fold it back up.
Had one and it works GREAT! Super easy to fold once you figure it out and providing you are not an idiot.
@pirogue29 i love minn kota but torqeeto is faster
Checked these things out. Very efficient and capable of moving a lot of weight. Nice quality piece of work, just dont produce the speed you need to get up on the plane in a small boat. If they offered a faster prop like they do on the bigger versions they would be great. Until then a good petrol outboard and minn kota are going to give you the best of both worlds for the same money. The ability to hook up a solar charger is pretty sweet though.
nevermind LOL
@StormChaserChris BUT IM A COUNTRY KID!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there a mini moter for like inflatable boats cuz im a kid?????
I would not trust that battery to a pin. I would rather keep the battery in the boat and have the motor plugged into the battery with wire
I wonder how much one of these weighs , I ride a bike and am looking at these because I need something I could pack on the back if at all possible
AdInfinitumSpero 75 lbs.
look how fast hes going ... : p slow down there bud your going to hurt someone
You need a clip on skeg fin to make it steer and track. Like RC model boats use turn fins for.
I think electric is the wave of the future. It doesn't create a greasy mess like gas powered, easy to maintain, and the motor has full torque at any speed. Batteries are getting close to same energy level per weight to gas, and recharge with solar, it's free energy.
@pirogue29 yea I got a 40# 12V Minn-Kota $230CDN and a 103ahr battery $130CDN that moves a 4 seater paddle boat as good as that. That's a lot beer in price difference.
@jonfoster100 just a single though. and it doesn't have to be a klepper but not one of the real cheap folding ones or i'll get killed kayaking in the sea LOL
I live in Norway and am looking for one of these due to the extreme shipping costs of a glass or molded kayak. does anyone have one of these they'd like to sell? i don't have a lot of money but if you have one you aren't using and could help me out i can pay a reasonable amount for it. Thank you.
Jon Foster Yes , Kontakt: Jörg der Flusswanderer, Faltbootwerft Ladenburg. He is a Spezialist and have much foldingkajaks for fair money. Good luck! 🚣👍
@mariner10rpr yep!!!!!!!
great video...thanks
nice demo vid but at 150 bones i think i 'll keep using my box pots which gets my limits fairly easy!
You really remind me to the time when i had in 1967 an Aerius II. I learnt my occupation with Klepper Werke, Filiale Stuttgart in Germany from 1961 - 1965. Since 2008 im living in The Philippines and all I want is an Klepper Aerius II and a Klepper Master. Thanks for your wonderful video.
mhm1946ptp I hope you answer my friend. sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/boa/d/los-altos-vintage-1950s-klepper-aerius/7111134675.html Good luck.
is it worth 149 dollars?
Hey guys, if you like this trap, you will love the Collapse-A-Trap... It catches live bait fish and fits in your tacklebox. Check out the video on You Tube. It's about $20 and my 5 year old even uses it!
a 24/36 volt 80+ thrust trolling motor would be better and cheaper in my book.
seems to be a waste of money. To expensive and not very impressive.
Gasoline engines kick ass
per manufacturer Torqeedo is much like a 5HP Outboard, thats a lie, i have a Nissan 5HP outboard and Torqeedo power is way wayyy less. Torqeedo is just a trolling motor on steroids, not to mention its $2000+ price tag (depending on the option) , from my test fully charged battery gave me 3 1/2 hours of power and it becomes noisy when you hit 75% throttle , but if you like innovation and its 30lbs weight then this is for you.
Great review, thanks very much... I am using the Mercury 3.5hp FourStroke but it has no reverse gear and the exhaust is not through the prop (makes it quite loud) so i was going to go with the 6hp Merc but this electric motor makes so much more sense... it is just for a little 8 foot tender going from moorage to shore and back and a little bit of exploring in the shallows. I think I will buy mine from westmarine Canada ($i699) unless someone has a better idea. Thanks again for your time.
i have a modern kayak but my dad has a two seater blue klepper and its great, takes us around 5 minutes to set up.
