The fabric is linen/viscose. You can actually cross stitch on it but it’s irregular weave, as in the number of threads is not the same in both directions but it would be interesting. I use it as part of my winter wonderland wreath kit, it is lovely for free hand embroidery, it is robust enough for goldwork. Back of cushion is fine, whatever you fancy!

The butterfly yarn is made out of paper similar to the paper used for surgical masks. It is considered a non woven fabric.

A month late but another American chiming in on Poe. We read The Raven in 8th grade - I can remember the year clearly because my 8th grade English teacher loved silly humor and showed us the Simpsons version of it! Quoth the Raven... Eat my shorts! I also did an entire presentation of Poe short stories and poems for speech team in high school and of course I included The Raven.

My first thought was the silver as the reds would look amazing but I am a little worried the white might get a little lost. So my vote is the raw (but I have said it before, my colour choices are diabolical which is why I get husband to choose! 😂) and thank you for the mention 🤩 x

I think the white floss would pop more on the raw fabric but I think the rest of the colours would pop more on the grey fabric. Did that help? 😂🤣😂

The worse the jokes are the harder I laugh. I think that’s basically me in a nutshell. For the fabric- I’d test stitch the white to see how it shows, because the silver is fab, but white may well show better on raw; either would otherwise be lovely.

I vote raw for the sampler, it'll make the white pop more. I'm from northern Wisconsin(forgot to make a comment yesterday).
