Insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!😮
Neil who.....lol
I think Buddy was holding back little, maybe? 🤷🏻♂️😅👉🏼🥁
Great drumming. Awful arrangement, which is why I can't listen to Buddy Rich play, he has no taste when it comes to arrangements, which somewhat bizarre.
Thank God for the internet and it’s apps like RUclips we have all this wonderful entertainment at our fingertips 😮🎉
So this drum solo by buddy has its moments like all of his dramatic drum solos when he is featured he tells his audience a fantastic percussion story he relates to his audience his story the way he feels the audience is really enthralled because they are patiently waiting for buddy’s ending greatest drummer to draw breath no ands ifs or buts
Thanks for this. Heard him live twice, '73 and '74 I think. Quite amazing.
God on drums 🙏 Absolutely Amazing
Doesn't get More perfect than that
Drumstick malfunction at 1.34. Look out behind!
Buddy was amazing. One of a kind.
Notice the height of that snare drum
A master and a monster on those drums .
Wow!! And in 1968! So impressive!
Buddy Rich is the GOAT. Rest in peace Mr Rich.
That’s my Uncle playing the Trombone at -6:47
Where was this filmed, New York? Was it his Jazz Club?
A beautiful performance by Mr. Rich.
I was at this concert and afterwards we laughed and joked about things in general . God I miss you so much man ❤
ruclips.net/video/pydBhY8DmT8/видео.html - great drummer
I was there that night, July the 18th 1986, & I got there early enough to hear the band rehearsing, so that added to the excitement before going to see the show. I well remember seeing this drum solo, as Buddy was tapping away at his drum stool & various stands, as he used to like to improvise & entertain.I also remember at the end of the concert he walked up to the end of the stage & I was amazed that he was wearing cowboy boots, & I wondered how on earth he still managed to play so well whilst wearing those heavy boots. It was a full house that night, as I expect it was wherever he was playing, & Buddy Rich was the greatest drummer of all time, with such speed, power & control.
Cool chart. Bet he nailed it on the first try.
THANKS FOR POSTING! JUST INCREDIBLE! LESS THAN A YEAR BEFORE HIS PASSING, AT 69 YEARS OF AGE HASENT LOST A STEP!! BLINDING SPEED, SUPER PRECISION BEYOND WORDS!! WILL ALWAYS BE " THE WORLD'S GREATEST DRUMMER "!!!

1:40 blast beats in 1968 wow
Typical buddy rich. Gotta hog the the whole band with his too loud and too fast rudiments!
Three stages of speed in that solo ...pure unadulterated Genius .. Period !
god i wished this was 4k
Thanks for posting this incredible performance. Every time I think I have seen and heard everything Buddy could do, along comes another startling performance. In my more than 30 times seeing him in concert, I never saw him do an extended solo on the rims - very interesting. I believe he was dropped off by a spaceship from another world just to mess with drummers. There will never be another like him.
Ah. The days of music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perfect machine
pure perfection absolute GENIUS
I would love to hear Leonard Bernstein's take on the Rich Band version of WSS... I wonder if there is anything existing...
Shout out to Avon High School, Massachusetts!

I saw this number done Xmas Eve eve, December 1974 @ The iLatin! (Casino) Cherry Hill, NJ, suburb of Camden NJ & South Jersey shore spots, the "old" pre-casino AC, Wildwood, etc, & their "concomitants", 'cross the blvd from Cherry Hill Race Track. 1 diff wuz was the "head" wuz the theme itself, !BLASTED rite @ yuh rite! after the 2nd or 3rd intro tunes, like a ZURPIZE! "Watch me pull uh rabbit 🐰 outta my hat!" Stunned WHOLE audience 2 LAFFTER, Giggles, etc. Joe Williams the opener...
Beautiful
Hard to believe this was just less than a year before he passed.. right up until the end he was Unstoppable and unbeatable
You gotta love it!!! The Mercy Mercy BR band playing Machine!!! Dig Don Menza!!!
LIFE IS OFFICIALLY A FUCKING JOKE CAUSE THEY ARE DEAD.

MY GOD ALL HUMANS SHOULD SEE THOSE SINGLES AT 2:09. WTF
Love Marcus reaction!!!! I would ld cut off my legs to see them again
10:00
This chart has such a great overall vibe and appeal, I wish Buddy would have used it as a vehicle for his soloing on occasion, so that he'd carry and interpret that same dynamic sound even further into his personal showcase as he did with his brief intro.
Snare sounds awesome
A great theme song for that summer replacement show.
The beautiful Lead Trumpet of Al Porcino !
