Jeep Wrangler '06-'16 7'' Halo LED Headlight Install Tips
Where can I get that grill that looks like it has angry eyes :D? I really liked it
My fuse box is not laid out the same way it seems. I noticed there is a 15 fuse being used. Does that need to match what the fuse box diagram (on the cover) says each port is?
I wish the fuse tap was $1.50 at autozone, I just bought one, and it's $8.41 also people, look at your fuse box diagram, my 2011 acc. fuse is in a different spot. For my he put the fuse tape in the heated seat/heated steering wheel.
Great video! Exactly what I was looking for
Thank you, being an electrical dummy you made it super simple were done 👍
Been watching a lot of these videos to replace the head lights in my 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK This is by far the most informative. It also means it is the last one I have to watch.
Help please... How do run wires to the turn signal wires?
I swear to GOD!! This is the only video that actually helped of connecting DRL headlights, thanks you much dude.
Amazing video. Never felt i needed to skip around because all the info is said as quick as possible
Finally someone who explains wiring
nice vid mate
Can I make DRL work as I want . Because sometimes I want to stay in the car while it's running but no lights whatsoever.
Hi thanks for video it’s really nice But I have one question that I did the same connection but the problem is my high beam comes on with DRLs even when headlights switch is all the way down to off. And when turned on high beams go off unless high beam switch is on. Thanks
N9
Only video that has covered DRL! Thank you!
Are they grounded somewhere? Mine came with black and red wires for the daylight running lights
Clear. Concise. Much better video than the others I've seen. Thanks.
Hello,I am the manufancture of LED headlights and like your video. Would you be willing to test them? Please reply to me if interest.
Thank you brother, clear as day, great video. I now wanna do the drl on my jeep, question where u pass the cable to make it look neat ?
Does the HALO lights turn off when lights are going on? Or everything stays on? Cheers
The led halo light for my jk don’t fit in the bezel properly. Is there something I’m not seeing
seems like wiring is wrong. power from each lights should run to each other then into a fuse box tap, so 1 power wire into fuse then split to each light to provide power for DRL. the amber should be blinker, yellow wire. that should go from each light then spliced into same side blinker, so when left/right blinker is on so is amber, when blinker stops so does amber then goes back to white drl. amber shouldnt be on as a drl
I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if defective. I have the RGB halos. I used the H13 adapter and also tapped into the signal lights. The headlights work great and also signal as required. I then plugged the cables that go from the Bluetooth module to each headlight. And the connected the red to positive and black to negative on battery posts. As soon as I plug in the halo cables, they light up and circle through various colors, non stop. I connected the app successfully but I could not control or do anything. The halo just keeps cycling through colors even if I turn engine on or put it in drive. Can anyone help?
You have it on demo mode the wires are mixed up
can you please let me know which fuse tab actually we need to use for plugging in into DRL wire ?
It’s a fuse tap and it’s an atm
I have a red, yellow and blue wire. I ran the red to the big fuse specified in the video. I ran the yellow to the 15 amp accessories fuse. Drls run perfect but when I turn on the headlights the halos default to red. When I adjust through the app, only the driver's side works. Passengers side stays red no matter what I do. Am I supposed to run the blue wire also? I tried connecting both to the accessories fuse but it didn't work. If I disconnect yellow and only connect blue, then driver's side won't work.
How come nobody that ever does any of these videos have the proper tools SMH. Drives me crazy. Like trim clip pliers... pretty sure you can get them almost anywhere fur around 10 bucks. Then you don't gouge and brake clips when removing them.
Isn't the DRL supposed to be white.
Thanks, your DRL solution is so simple (slap forehead with hand and grab another beer).
Did he just cut his own wire slot into the fuse box so the box lid didn't chop it in half? I didn't think that would happen and mine is jacked up, I'm not sure if its recoverable or not. Any help?
Y
Nice video I’m getting my tomorrow for my TJ
Where do you run wire to for turn signals? I bought the kind has the halo n turn signal affect
Thanks for the video, simply explained and easy to follow!
Do you have a link for that harness you were refering to
I have 2012 Jeep wrangler JK from Canada, Mean DRL option is always on. I installed with harness provided and connected with turn signal aswell. But because of DRL option in my vehicle, the lights get glitched. I want to keep my ring on only but it doesnt let me. If i pull handbrake up then only I am able to play with it. Please guide how to fix.
But what type of gauge wire do you use to tap into the fog lights
Ur fuse box now is nut water tight , moisture in there over time will cause havoc, maybe use silicone where wire exits box
Why can't u splice it to ur other driving light just below headlight?
Does the halos turn off when you switch to run your headlights?
no
would you splice in your turn signals drl the same way?
Vertical video syndrome - didn't make it past 10 seconds into this.
But the halos should be withe??? Rigth??
Depends on the color you buy
Wow I definitely wouldn't want you working on my cars lol. After watching you remove and ruin the very first clip I can see why you opted to replace them all when you changed out your grill.
That wiring though 😳🤦♂️
@@Dpix1990 Yeah wiring is one of those things that lots of people can wire something to “work” but few can actually do it right. Videos like this and millions of others is why I think most automotive videos on RUclips should just be taken for entertainment purposes and never as a how to. When I was a mechanic at a performance shop 98% of all the troubleshooting was electrical wiring work. 100% of those cases the owner always defensively said “well I watched this is vided on RUclips that everyone on X forum recommended”. As if actually was a defense.
Where i am suppose to plug the fuse tap if i have fuse in that area that has a 20 on it
Brandon Alves I had the 20 in the same spot as well. It still works. I also tried a couple of the other spots next to the 20. It works where the 10 and where the 15 amp is. My only complaint with my halos is that they stay on when I turn my low beam on. My other set of halos the DRL would go out when my low beam was turned on. I may have to keep searching for the amp that allows for the DRL to go out when the low beam is on.
In an accessory or power outlet spot on my 08 jku but I had to plug it backwards with the fuse tap
Exactly what other comments already mentioned! what I really needed to know about dal wiring. Thanks
Wtf..Do it in proper order..
What filter you are using on the jeep?
Just a curious question with hooking up to fuse. If you hook up to the positive side of the fuse, you are not utilizing the fuse itself. If you hook up to the downstream side of the fuse, then if something shorts, the fuse will protect your wiring from burning up? If you hook to the positive side then you should add an inline fuse for your lights themselves? I guess what I'm thinking is if you are hooking up to the powered side of the fuse assembly, it's just like taking power directly from battery with no protection.
What is up with the vertical video? Just when it was irritating enough, it starts filming sideways, yet still vertical. lol
Great video! very helpful...thank you!
