Years ago, I was using a big old VHS Camcorder to film a shootout, the screen went blank, and the tape ejected , when they started, "WORLD WIDE , WORLD WIDE" never to work again, but it as epic. 21 S.C.
What I'm wondering is...what kind of antenna can you mount on a car that can absorb all that power? It would be interesting to see the antenna -- I didn't see one in the video?
The antennas on my mom's truck we're rated for 10k each. Infact the manufacturer had a on going challenge. If you could burn them up by just transmitting through them they would pay you a cash prize.
Yes indeed, but if not fixed or built in the right way it could lead to your death. It's called RF exposure and lets just say it will fry you from the inside out.
I have never glowed in the dark. But was tuning the tubes on one of my rigs and could feel my body temperature rise. And my wife got to witness mice go into convulsions When I would hit the switch. Low swr, well grounded and not exceptionally high power.
What's funny is that each S-unit at the receiver costs 6 dB more signal at the receiver. 1W = 30dBm. 10W = 40dBm. 100W = 50dBm. and 1,000W = 60dBm. The 10dB gain from 100W to 1,000W (or 1KW to 10KW) does not even result in 2 S-units increase at the receiver (12dB).
They obviously don't realise if you cannot hear the other station, you cannot work them. Pay more attention to the receive side, ie antenna SYSTEM But then, I suppose that the car's heater is rubbish and they need to keep their feet warm
70KW = 93.8 hp. The wimpiest small block Chev V8 can still produce about 175 hp. Of course, the vehicle likely weighs in at 3 tons... I bet he doesn't try to transmit and pass at the same time!
You can't run that sort of power legally on amateur radio either. He might as well stick with what he's doing. Having said that, his driver is too big for his whopping final. He probably only wants a maximum of 250 Watts drive
They are supposedly testing an RF amplifier on the other end... first you see the S around 3.5 with the regular 5 to 10W, then power is jacked up to 400W (S9) then jacked up again around 2KW (S9+60) on CB..
Ian Provost, Sir I am not condescending to anyone other than those that are to blind or to stupid to see, You should take your last comment and stand in front of a mirror and read it to yourself as it seems to fit you to a T. I have helped many people get started in Ham Radio, I have built simple C.W. transmitters to get a kid started that had no money, The plain fact is you know nothing about radio communications and use that as a crutch to fall back on something easy because you are to lazy to apply yourself and amount to something. Ruin the hobby for others, are you for real, I have helped many, I have given away rigs and goodies to help others for the last 45 years and will do more than you can ever know. By the way working D.X. on the Ham Bands is not easy, but it is rewarding to really have a nice conversation with someone rather than shout into a mike and scream about my class C Bird watts and not have any idea what the hell I am talking about. So go tell your crap to some one that has not a clue like you because I think I know better.
The fucking monitor your sitting in front of is giving off more "radiation" than what the antenna is. Typical book bred hamster. The ARRL is still producing morons I see.
It's the camera, the signal from the antennae is so strong it fucks up the camera. You can also here him keying in the mic. Doubtful you'd hear that from his mouth with that engine being redlined lol.
I know the camera is getting screwed up because of the amount of radio power being radiated but I'm saying this video is loosing quality everytime I play it. Seems to be getting more and more pixellated. Almost unwatchable.
Max Hand RF is not ionising radiation. It's a lot of power, but that doesn't changes physics. The energy itself is actually low energy photons, they don't pack enough energy to damage DNA, all this power just really means he's putting out a lot more, kind of like the difference between a drinking straw (your average squawk box) and a breach in the Hoover dam (his setup)
these fools have no idea about what they are doing, the E-field around that antenna is nothing to play with and all the nut jobs standing around watching are getting a dose of radiation they will regret.
As much as I like to run relatively high power mobile this goes a few steps too far, 70kw is really not going to be safe. The whole vehicle ends up being dedicated to the one purpose, sticking to a few hundred watts is probably a bit lame by comparison...
Yeah exactly nightmare. Microwave ourselves with use of 27Mhz. The newest craze low frequency microwaves. Self proclaimed smart people often sound rather dumb.
not trying to troll, but 2 3cx3000 driven by 2 3-500z's? Way to much drive. Plus, the 3-500z box would need to be driven too. I know that I don't have that kind of power, and I hate it when ducks make stupid comments on what I do....... but I would use a (2) 4cx250B box for a driver.
if that really was 70kw, you just experienced 120 times the maximum permissible exposure (almost 1000 times if people were unaware of what was happening), and somewhere on the order of ~40 times that where there are known biological effects. This is assuming you were 20 ft away. With that much power and that poor a transmission system all your doing is interfering with legitimate radio users. Whats the point?

Absolutely fantastic, love it

Was dude talking about Satellite getting killed?
Was that a vcr recording
would have been more efficent extra alternator extra batteries and.an.inferverter
That's not how efficiency works. The alternators are supplying ac power directly. With batteries and an inverter you are building in energy losses.
What I'm wondering is...what kind of antenna can you mount on a car that can absorb all that power? It would be interesting to see the antenna -- I didn't see one in the video?
skin effect at high frequencys it only.flows over the surface of a.conductor chances of a melt down are.lower than at low frequencys

At 51-53 seconds in the video the two antennas on top of the truck
That there hillbilly superbowl
How is this measured? What are they transmitting?
Dave made is such a good name.
Spent all his child support money on radio crap and his kid can’t get a hot lunch at school.
TOM PIPPS . FOAM - BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA USA . HI HELLO . &
I must be fried. I couldn't understand what anyone was saying.
Crazy power ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
You think they’re hard to understand now, give a little time the RF fries brain cells dummies.
what is that new cook stove
It might be a lot of power but aren't the wavelength so long that the human body doesn't readily pick up the energy?
Yes indeed, but if not fixed or built in the right way it could lead to your death. It's called RF exposure and lets just say it will fry you from the inside out.
HAARP on wheels
Pure stupidity at its finest.
I used to ×ork in radio and RF feild around those beams will fuck you off.
These people have NO clue to the RF coming off these antennaes...Brain-Fry
or maybe you have no clue
The black suburban is the late 747 out of the bluegrass. All original a.c. davemade 70,000 watts
Fantastic
i need that to drive my two pill
What pills are they? Paracetamol?
when you walk around at night and you glow in the dark, take 2 of these and call me in the morning
I have never glowed in the dark. But was tuning the tubes on one of my rigs and could feel my body temperature rise. And my wife got to witness mice go into convulsions When I would hit the switch. Low swr, well grounded and not exceptionally high power.
Guy need a old soviet atomic station on tank chassis.
Furthermore, if he yells at someone across the globe, he probably won't hear a reply as the other station is too weak...
They obviously don't realise if you cannot hear the other station, you cannot work them. Pay more attention to the receive side, ie antenna SYSTEM But then, I suppose that the car's heater is rubbish and they need to keep their feet warm
I'm going to say that he talks a little further than "just down the the road apiece"!!!!
Thomas Pigg he can be heard in central Asia, and all over the Western hemisphere.
every time i hear a ham talking shit.. i just take a sharpie.. write their call sign on my dick.. then feed em a link
That's 747's a.c. mobile setup. I've seen it hit 70kw on a bird 43. The paint on top the suburban started cracking and peeling up. It's no joke.
1 horsepower = 746W. How many horsepower does his engine have again?
70KW = 93.8 hp. The wimpiest small block Chev V8 can still produce about 175 hp. Of course, the vehicle likely weighs in at 3 tons... I bet he doesn't try to transmit and pass at the same time!
So his amplifier is 100% efficient? I don't buy it.
Very nice setup but, dam dude, it's ILLEGAL!! Get yourself a ham license!!
You can't run that sort of power legally on amateur radio either. He might as well stick with what he's doing. Having said that, his driver is too big for his whopping final. He probably only wants a maximum of 250 Watts drive
Thanks Karen
Sad Ham

holy tin foil hat to save your brain!!! thats a crap load of wattage!!!
so mw is the same?? hahahahaha

TO MANY RF WATTS N THE AIR
Hello Mr. Cancer
Why is this video looses quality everytime I watch this.
It's the camera, the signal from the antennae is so strong it fucks up the camera. You can also here him keying in the mic. Doubtful you'd hear that from his mouth with that engine being redlined lol.

Your internet probably sucks balls
nope. I have 100mb/s cable internet and never have any other problems with RUclips.
Lol your ISP tells you you have 100mb/s
I hope he does not plan on having any kids they might come out with a third eye from all that RF exposer.....Terrible waste of radio .......

Hasn't bothered me yet and 747 has kids they are perfectly healthy
sounds like the typical comment from a stupid fucking ham.

Hah, pretty much
to microwave yourselves?
It's a hobby
whats the point of this?
Holycrap. That radio is so powerful it screws up the old VHS camera. This isn't a warning by ACMA or the FCC, this is a raid waiting to happen.
not trying to troll, but 2 3cx3000 driven by 2 3-500z's? Way to much drive. Plus, the 3-500z box would need to be driven too. I know that I don't have that kind of power, and I hate it when ducks make stupid comments on what I do....... but I would use a (2) 4cx250B box for a driver.
Would be better although im driving 6 500-zs with a 98vhp and seeing 6kw
