Thanks for the video
Thank you! Great video with lots of pertinent information! However, I found the part about the buttons just a teensy bit confusing because my Dog Trainer told me to only use the Red button. However, I really like the idea of having the "boost" capability!! I'm going to read the manual (I know - novel idea, right?) and make sure I understand fully how to maximize that functionality because it seems like a game changer for a dog like mine who's still very puppyish and interested in literally EVERYTHING!
Having the ability to use a lower level and have a second button for the boost is the most useful feature of any ecollar. Not sure why you were told to only use the red?
@frontrangedogtraining Because he says I need the ability to dial up & down depending on the situation. E.g , If I'm in an area with very few distractions... Clearly, an 8 or 9 would do... But if there's a big distraction like another puppy coming towards us... That level 8 or 9 even with a boost of 5 extra points, is not going to be anywhere near enough. I hate to admit it but so far he has been correct in this.
Awesome
This video was much easier to understand and follow correctly vs the book. The Grammer in the book is NOT user friendly in the sense of the way its explained foe fu cations and using the mini correctly. So thank you for making this video, you're a great teacher/ Explanationary (not a word I know lol) 😂 Best video hands down for understanding your mini.
My on/off /light button on the transmitter does not seem to work all the time -- only occasionally. Ugh. So frustrated. Sick of this.
Thank you for your video. It’s the best I have found.
This is the most user Unfriendly device I have ever had the displeasure of using.
The only way it will charge is if I cross my fingers and toes and hold my tongue exactly right…
Thank you! Your demo was so much easier to understand than trying to read the manual! I’ve had this collar for a year now but was too overwhelmed trying to tackle the instructions. I guess someone else felt the same since it ended up brand new in the box at the Goodwill! I was the lucky one who “scored” and paid only $15.00 for it!
That’s a great deal. Glad the video helped.
ive watched about 20 videos and have yet to come accross one that explains how to turn on and lock in stimulation. this is crazy.
Great tutorial! Thanks so much for sharing. How do you set the intensity of the vibrate button?
Great info and wonderfully presented - thank you!!
You’re welcome! Thanks for the feedback.
Hopefully, that mishap didn't create a big mess for the dog and owner
Great video! Thanks!
Good video
Great video. Very helpful especially the bungy collar and anywhere clip
Hey just wondering why you took down the video debunking the resource guarding study zak George referenced
Excellent video. That GSD puppy was adorable!
I agree! That was a fun puppy to work with. Glad you enjoyed it.
Bad video. His finger is in the way!!!!
Whatcha talkin’ about, Linda?
Hey this is a great video. My collars shock function doesnt work anymore but the tone and vibration still work. Any ideas? Maybe its just old?
Interesting, not sure why that would happen. Garmin has great customer service. I would give them a call and see what they think.
Excellent walkthrough! Thanks!
You’re welcome!
🥰🥰
This a huge for us. Great lesson and best way to get our pup to relax. Only needed to do it a few times.
Great to hear that, Tom. It’s one of the most important things to do with little puppies.
Thank you so much for such a clear explanation of getting started. I now have my remote set up just the way I wanted.
You’re welcome, happy it helped!
What happens once you stop food? I always notice my dogs over the years lose motivation if i use treats for training. With this approach how long do you do this with food? i have a 5 month old puppy who knows the come command but i currently only use it in the house when i know she will follow through.
You can use food for the recall as long as you’d like. We just want to get a 100% consistent recall in all situations. If food helps that then great. Once we achieve that consistency, then we start to reduce the food with random reinforcement.
where did you get that bungee collar
Educator Bungee Dog Collar, Biothane, Waterproof, Odorproof, Metal Buckle and D Ring with Comfort Bungee Loop Adjustable for Custom Fit, 3/4-Inch, Black a.co/d/dFRLe8Q
Excellent instructional video. Thank you!
Thanks Jim
You should probably dive deeper into this one.
What are your thoughts on it?
True science based training……
It’s unfortunate, and a bit scary, that most people don’t know the difference. And probably don’t care. Remember, this is activism not logical!
@@frontrangedogtraining For sure. In the real world I’m an engineer and involved in real research that gets directly applied to real world problems. If we designed high rise buildings with the type of “Science” that seems to predominate in the dog training world, cities would be full of collapsed buildings.
Interesting. Never would have thought that but I’ll definitely use much more verbal praise going forward..
I use a mix of both, depending on the behavior I’m training in the level of excitement I want. And of course the dogs motivation for either.
