This is a result of both Aka wanting a realistic ending as well as wanting to do something Mengo style. Real life doesn't have proper endings and Mengo does some dark shit. This is a valid approach but... if you ever watch something "realistic" you might have noticed they don't actually do this and follow proper narrative structures. There is a reason for that and Oshi no Ko is just an example as to why. Putting a direct mirror of real life is not entretaining and hardly has much value unless your intention is to fuck with your audience which in Aka's defense that might be what he was doing all along.

All the more reason to revolt against everything the U.N. tries to do in the U.S. The only thing the U.N. does anymore is send R-pists around the world to prey on women and children themselves. Tbf, this isn't fishman island arc. It's a prelude. We literally refer to it as the Return to Sabaody arc. Not Fishman island arc. People gave it shit for an arc that haven't properly started yet. Clearly this is just to serve as the bridge to gap the fan letter to the arc itself. While it's still possible for them to fuck up the pacing in fishman, this is far too early to make the calls. I mean people gave shit to the HxH 2011 and FMAB for their earlier episodes pacing as well since it gloss over a lot from the manga cause the og versions had covered them. And those two are highly celebrated remakes. At this point, it kinda have become a tradition for One Piece fans to bitch about anything new or changes in One Piece including the manga, only to have them eat those words and turn them to a clown when the series immediately disprove their arguments and premature conclusions. Then when that happened, in order to save face, they will either: a) Pretend like nothing happened and they always knew all along b) Live in denial, nitpicks , or moving the goalpost to still defend their arguments.

Cutting out jokes are not good everything in the manga matters most people's favorite parts about One Piece is the simple things we are literally watching videos on YT that's doesn't effect our lives at all but we still watch it because it's funny everything matter it

i agree with the cutting it down but they did cut of dialogue that led to scenes like sanji mentioning going to the fish market where in the remake he just appears there with no context so we just assume he went food shopping

Toei should just remake the entirety of dragon ball with the new animation if the one piece fans are just gonna complain about it. Those short clips of the buu saga were like treats handed by god himself

i just wish that they attest finish egg head island before doing this, i cant even watch the remaster episode due to it being premium only on crunchy roll with how padded out the pacing is (wanno takes over 2 days to watch All the episodes including the opening and credit's and i am pretty sure the fight against kiedo takes a full 1/3 of the episodes) i skipped fishman island initially and parts of punk hazard too due to the slow pacing, it's like the jokes about how dragon ball z's fights are mostly just them yelling accept instead of them yelling and gathering power it's luffy and zoro on opposite sides of the island fighting the 2 obscenely tanky antagonist's of that arc interrupted by the rest of the crew barely scraping by while fighting entire army's of pirates that just get taken out in one or two hit's while the mini bosses that are still around beats them into getting a new ability (literally with sanji) that will be power scaled into uselessness by the time they get to the next island like what happened with nami and zeus it's tiresome watching a fight that takes over 6 hours just to watch and i wouldn't be surprised if the latter hath of wanno was in real time due to how slow the pacing is in the anime
