In this final part of this series, I will reassemble the cleaned up parts from the NEO TRN 1. There is probably some useful information whether you own a TRN or not. Happy painting!

I disassemble an NEO TRN 1 in preparation for cleaning. Wet side nozzle parts. Dry side action, slide mechanism, and air valve.
thank you so much
I really like your videos. I’m brand new to this airbrush. My problem is the flared thing on the end that protects the needle. When painting it splatters the paint everywhere how do I prevent that? Thank you so very much. I need your advice.
Thank you this was very helpful
These videos deserve more likes, it really helps
Hi,my needle seal won't come out!
I try but looks like wont fit 1.4
Super video. Air valve was stuck open, all sorted now, thanks.
A question about the cleaner you’re using, Tom. Are you diluting at all, or using straight out of the bottle?
Hi Thomas. Hope you're doing well. Just got back from vacation. I use the Totally Awesome straight out of the bottle. Tom
Ok so I'm very new to Airbrushing and want to know if the cleaning solution I'm using for my Passche airbrushes will be ok for my new NEO TRN 1 This should hurt the neoprene parts, right? This is what I'm using 100 ML Windex 150 ML Distilled Water 50 ML 91% Isopropyl Alcohol 10 Drops Glycerine
Hi Brad, nice to meet you. Hope you're doing well. I used to use a cocktail of 70% isopropyl and old formula Windex as cleaner. About 50/50. Shaken not stirred. Worked very well on acrylics. AS I recall, the new formula has an environmentally safe alcohol in it and less ammonia. None the less, it should work fine. I never had my mix damage any o rings. The needle packing in your TRN is ptfe so that won't be a problem for sure. Be aware. The Windex could etch the chrome on the internals of the airbrush. I have a couple Eclipses that have no chrome left in the cups from that. As long as I keep them clean, they still work like new! I call it a sunny cup as chrome gets thinner towards the bottom which has no chrome at all. They don't get that way sitting in the box! Best not to leave things soaking in that cleaner. I never did that with any of my airbrushes. Hope this helps! Tom
What if you don’t have the packing tool. Can you just use a regular screwdriver.
Hi! Thanks for asking. Yes, you can. That's what we did in the Before Times! Before there was the Pro Maintenance Tool Kit. It has to be narrow enough and long enough to get down to the needle packing. With a regular screw driver, the trick is to put the packing back in without getting it too tight. Screw it in until you hit resistance. Then check it with the needle. You want it snug, not tight. So, check with needle. Snug it up. Doesn't take much movement to make a big difference. Check. Tighten. Check tighten. It's really easy to over tighten with a regular screw driver. The PTFE doesn't rebound well. Get it too tight and you wont' be able to get the needle in! At that point, loosening it up won't help much. Just proceed slowly and you'll get it just right!
@@tagteamhobbiestomgrossman2720 Thank you that really helped. Got it done and is working good. 👍
Also where can I get that cleaning kit at if you don’t mind.
@@GVJLofts2010 Excellent! Glad to hear our back in business!
How do I fix it from bubbling into the paint ?
Hi D! Hope you're doing well. If you've got bubbles in the cup, easiest thing to check for is some accumulation at the tip of your needle. That's called tip dry. Brush that off and you should be good to go. If there's no tip dry, take a close look at your nozzle with a magnifier. Even a little damage can cause things like blow back, aka bubbles in the cup. IF the nozzle is fine, then it's usually something loose up front. Like the Nozzle cap or the nozzle itself. Avoid using pliers! They chew up the finish! If you've got things finger tight and there's still bubbling, you might try a little chap stick on the base of the nozzle before you screw it back in place. Hope this helps. Let me know if none of this solved the problem.
I’m confused. You make no mention of part N1504, O-Ring Nozzle Cap. I see the o-ring in the exploded diagram but I’m not sure if my TRN-1 ever had one, or if I lost it or if it disintegrated in cleaning. I know it’s needed because I get bubbles around where it should be seated. What’s the deal? Thanks, and thanks for the informative video.
Hi Tornado. Hope you're doing well. Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated. Historically, the TRN 1 never had the O-Ring Nozzle cap. The thought was that it wasn't needed as much as with the bottles that get attached to the TRN 2. It takes a lot to get the paint up from the bottom of a bottle. The larger nozzle on the TRN 2 could stand a bit more air flow., too. Bubbling around the base of the nozzle cap isn't unusual. That's normal. If you want an o ring for your TRN 1, I have those in stock. Hope this helps!
@@tagteamhobbiestomgrossman2720 Thanks! I just ordered two N1504s and am now a subscriber!
@@tornadoalley4495 GOt the payment. Thanks! I'll get them out today.
I should probably do some more videos....
I’ve got trn 2
Hello i broke the head base, the pin is inside the head base packing, how can i remove the head base packing? Thank you
Hi Andreina, hope you're doing well. Sorry to hear you're having troubles. By pin, do you mean the threaded portion of the head base that holds it to the airbrush? Standing by. Tom
@@tagteamhobbiestomgrossman2720 hello yes!! But i already could remove it, now i have to by buy the head base again (sorry for my English, my language its spanish! 🤷🏻♀️
@@tagteamhobbiestomgrossman2720 hello! I have another question, i use the airbrush to paint with cocoa butter, can i wash the active part of the airbrush with hoy Water with a little bit of soap? Can i inmerse that part in warm water?
@@ANDREINATEX Hi! GLad you got it out. This is the first I've heard of this happening. I sell those head bases. They aren't listed on my website, though. $6.50 Are you in the US? You sound like a chocolatier! What fun! Hot water and soap are fine for the needle and nozzle and the other parts up front. Best not to get the air valve wet. That can create other problems. Do you have a parts guide for your TRN?
@@tagteamhobbiestomgrossman2720 thank you very much for answering so quick!! Yes im a Chocolatier!! (@texierchocolatier) i broke that piece because my negligence 🙁, i tried to close very hard the headbase and i broke it , im not in the US but i’ve already bought the piece, im expecting it to arrive here next week! (Hope so) Your work is spectacular, i Will follow you to learn how yo use the airbrush!
everytime i want to clean my trn1, i need to do this?
Motul, no. Not every time. If you are careful and keep paint out of the slide parts, you may never have to do this.
Helpful. Thanks
What soft jaw pliers did you use? Mine don't grip anything and are useless for taking that front piece off
Hi Keven. Hope you're dong well. I use the soft jaws out of the Iwata Pro Maintenance Tool Kit. They can be challenging for tapered parts. Sometimes, I'll let the front end of the airbrush soak in cleaner to loosen things up. Hope that helps! For faster replies, email me at tom@tagteamhobbies.com I can also attache pictures and stuff to emails!
Thank you! Still new to all this so I'm still learning a lot about airbrushes and cleaning methods.

Great video, thank you for share!
Thanks!
Can you connect that trigger gun to a cordless mini compressor? If so, how?
The connector on the Iwata pistol grips is the same one on all Iwata airbrushes. It's the same size as Grex, Harder & Steenbeck, and the Iwata knock offs from China. If any of those fit your mini compressor, a TRN or Revolution TR will, too.
how do you get the brush back together??? Im EAGERLY waiting the next video. I NEED TO PAINT (UNNAMED MOVIE MONSTER) original kit with my NEO TRN1!
Go back and watch the disassembly, but in reverse?
I love it! The audio reminds me of those old 1950's training films. Great job Tom! Looking forward to the next one.
