I'm dealing with depression in this field of work. I got my CDL 5 months ago, Iv been otr for a few months. I do feel stuck out here. Going back isn't an option I have people depending on me. I just can't find happiness and I don't know what to do? im in a lot of Pain mentally. My younger brother passed away a few months ago. Iv come a long way to get where I am. I just don't know if I went the right way. I pray things get better.

I didnt see these weights since I was hauling demo into Antrim P.a. no, it wasn't legal for us . We had the trucks for it, but we had walking floors trailers that weren't . They were good trailers, just missing some axles . ..

Ok, you guys aren't far from me . I see the N.Y. plates . Are you guys hauling off of rte 22 ? North of Brewster ? I see these heavy haulers, I'm guessing they are hauling rocks or sand . I have a clean license 27 yrs of driving framless and frame with flatbed and tanker experience . I'm about 45 min from Brewster N.Y. I live in Connecticut . If I'm incorrect, can you point me in the right direction ??? And I have off road ( Landfill ) exp as well .

I’m 49 years old, I’ve lost my wife, my house, my car. Living in the truck full time feeling stuck in a lease program making a couple hundred dollars a week. I’m completely defeated and I don’t know how to get out of this spiral but I’m just focused on hour by hour, day by day.

Is the clutch side connected to oil reservoir tank? When I fill my clutch up the oil reservoir level rises. I don’t get it because I would think they are isolated from each other

Thank you for taking the time to detail this process. My 2 questions are: does anyone make a vibrating feature that would help loosen stuck materials? If your load is stuck is it ok to lower the dump half way and then reverse your truck and hit the brakes? Not going super fast or super far.

What brand of trailer was the red truck pulling?

I just begun a job doing the same, end dump trailer with 5 pistons going up. Im having difficulty with construction workers about the unleveled scenarios in job sites muddy and clearly uneven terrain. How can i explain to them that i can't unload on uneven terrain, muddy and with other truck tracks crossing the way where i dump? They just don't want to understand how dangerous the situation is. They think I'm doing whatever i want.

The hardest thing in trucking is the extreme hours, and what it does to your health. You’re sitting all day. You don’t have any life outside the job cause you’re working 14 hours a day. Your don’t get enough sleep and nothing in your personal life gets taken care of cause your working 14 hours a day. The driving is easy. That part I like. It’s not hard. But the other stuff I mentioned is hard. It’s horrible for your physical health. I been driving 11 years. I have gained 40 lbs and I cannot lose the weight. But the driving I like. I’m a pretty introverted guy anyway. But what u are saying is dead on. There’s more I dislike about trucking than I like. I would get outta the industry but I don’t have a college degree so what else am I gonna do to pay the bills if I quit trucking? Your life has no balance cause you’re working 80 damn hours a week. The driving of the truck I like. The hours I hate. Not being able to have a life outside of the job is what sucks. I cannot play music or any of that cause your working 13 hours a day. If it was 8 hours a day it would be much easier

I wouldn't doubt when I send this explanation on the word hill which I didn't write it changed it again but that's life 😀

I am a novice truck driver, just reaching the first year and livit in tbe truck. I am also feeling different every day, anxiety is on tbe rise, social awkwardness. Its very important that we do something out of the box, something which gets us hope, tbat there is light at tbe end of tunnel. Glad I came across this video tonight

I am a truck driver for 5 years now and I don’t have anyone to talk to at all while on the road and it’s so lonely ☹️

If I can haul 120,000lbs with a permitt on 7 axles,It shouldn't be a problem if I have 10 axles would into compensate for the 120k ?The day cab has 4 axles with one lift and end dump has 6 axles 36ft and 3 lift?

is it normal to keep the trailer brakes set when dumping these? one guy was talking about setting the tractor and leaving the trailer coming forward while dumping. Any input? situational? etc?

Correct! I just quit trucking after only 1 year, it was fun first 3 months after that I was thinking in loneliness about what am I doing here and I wasnt able to think of that doing trucking until I die. It brought me problems home, not seeing kids and wife enough, only once a week. Understanding that the more I stay the more this occupation will hit my health same physical as mental. Yes the money you earn might be a bit better but in a long term status this additional money wont buy you health and time back. So I just quit and now recovering my health, doing sports again and staying with family. I choose to earn a bit less but stay every evening home versus earn a bit more and hauling 6/1 only beeing able to stay home 1 day and maybe 2 nights a week.
