Exploring Browns Folly mine on a rainy day. Probably not the best idea to go down after 2 days of rain.

Go pro Footage of Crib Goch ridge 11th september 2015. Clear skys but pretty windy. I tried to get good footage of the 800m sheer drop to the right using a wide angle, but don't believe it does it justice. Check out my channel for more.

A few weeks ago we had a go at Downhill mountain biking over at Bike park Wales. Was bloody good fun. couple of funny crashes in this. Don't miss the best one at the end!
Snorkeling in Croatia
Просмотров 6689 лет назад
Last winter me and some pals fancied going away somewhere that we thought that would be reasonably warm we could go snorkeling and also somewhere we had never been before. We decided on south Croatia (Dubrovnik) mainly because of cheap flights! but also good reviews. The water is crystal clear and perfect for snorkelling. The weather was cracking too! Also was my first time using my GoPro under...

After climbing Pavey Ark, we took the striding edge route over to swirl edge. It had stopped raining by then, but it was pretty windy! I fell over twice :/
3peaks Challenge
Просмотров 1249 лет назад
back in 2011 Me and some guys from the village I live in decided to do the 3 peaks challenge and raise money for Helen and Douglas house hospice. I loosely filmed it on a point and shoot camera. Good memories. We ended up doing it in 23 hours after getting our mini bus stuck on hardknotts pass! We also managed to raise over £11,000!
making it look so casual but one slip and odds are you are dead..
I like those odds.
I cannot stand selfie stick users.
I cant stand you.
The music put me off no natural sound 😢
Please don't cry.
I remember doing that - luckily for me there was thick mist and I didn't realise just how narrow it was!
The best bit is when you get to the top and are in the caf'e with a sausage roll and a coffee!. 🙂😆😁....
When I did this many years ago, the weather was so bad you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. For which I am truly grateful!
Homeboy in blue casually almost died like 6 times 😅
Reminds me of being a kid and in our local park there was a long handrail/fence that we used to walk along. It was at least 100" long and getting from one end to the other took clarity of mind, nerves of steel and good grippy trainers with the laces tied nice and tight. But well done on your thing, it too looks impressive and maybe even a bit chilly?
Beautiful video! Did this for the first time a week ago, one of the best experiences I've had !
Some impressive footage there 😅
Love it 👌 I have great respect for a knife edge walk like this! Well done guys 🙌
It would have been a wee bit better if we had seen some of the view but all we got was you lol.
The video was never about the view. It was about me. Thanks for watching me.
@@pipewilliams.2039 Click bait lol
All videos so far everyone is using all 4 hands and feet these two rocking it stood up like it’s an easy hike, love it
Absolutely stunning views 👍
Just did this yesterday! How the fuck have you run over it with a camera pmsl crazy man
Did this with my lads when I took the wrong path. Was thinking Oh God what have I done. They handled it well. I was the scared one but it still haunts me a little.
Are the routes over the pinnacles towards the end of the ridge clearly marked?
No
Good Boys 🔥🔥🔥
Why on Earth can’t they use explosives to flatten the top and make it more accessible to all? Maybe install some viewing platforms too?
I'm not sure whether you are joking or not...
@@pipewilliams.2039 certainly not and I may start a petition to that effect. It’s not fair that only a few can traverse this route. It should be open to a greater diversity of hill walkers.
@@zandvoort8616 🤣 good one.
Since the beginning of the year ive wanted to do this scramble. ive watched, probably every video of crib, and this is the best by far. You guys make it look effortless. I dont know why so many people shoot in fisheye, Its not real, it puts people off.. Thanks for the vid. October is my time to do this , im just waiting for a couple of clear days and im off. Your video has given me so much courage..I have watched this many many times...Thanks Guys
This is exactly why i made this video! have a good time in October, and I hope you have good weather! 🤞
What song is this?
We did this the other day. Aged 54 with wife of similar age. Hardest bit was getting up to the ridge as it was rainy and misty and the route wasn’t obvious. Some very sketchy hand and footholds. I think we were too far over to the right. Got to the start of the crest and a guy walked past us with a full size mountain bike strapped to his back. The ridge itself is stunning but it’s a good idea to prepare with a few similar ‘potentially risky’ walks first. We did Striding Edge and Sharp Edge in the Lake District the week before. Good preparation but Crib Goch is way more exposed.
Did this 2 days ago. Legs still aching. I'm 58 and planned for it for 2 months. Walking up local, much smaller mountain and lifting heavy logs. But NOTHING prepared me for this. I saw guys and gals like this just walking/running across it...I basically crawled. It's terrifying. It's not just that bit they're showing you. There are some almost sheer rock faces you have to climb over to get to the ridge. It's not for the fainthearted. It's very technical and you need an excellent center of balance. I made it purely by the encouragement of others passing by and staying peaceful taking one step/crawl at a time. Saying that, it was the most exhilarating, amazing thing I've ever done in my life and I have done a lot of crazy stuff!!!
You’re right. It’s not for the fainthearted! Respect to you for doing it and tackling it at your own pace!
Wow , I’m scared of heights and I honestly think I would freeze at the top..Well done to you sir, the views look amazing
Is that Ryan Seacrest ? Lol
It just seems very crazy and they seem very walk in the park mentality when in reality one slip and down you go. They seem to have the face that these rocks are very solid and secure when they can actually break away every time you step on one and that could be your last step. I don’t think I would ever try this I value my life
You do you Steve. And I’ll do me.
My partner has traversed Crib Goch many times back in the 1970's. He recalls taking a friend up there when it was fairly thick fog and then they did it again later and his friend said "you've got to be kidding me - is this where you took me last time"!!!
Yes, i could do this easily if it were foggy and i couldn't see the height. But on a day like this, no way.
The guy with the hat is a lunatic 😂 I’d be shaking like a leaf making the step to that pillar
Make it look so easy, I wanna,do it but never done anything like it. Possible for a beginner?
yes definitely. just be careful. its also possible to walk a little lower than the actual ridge if you dont feel confident.
Beautiful video - well done.
People who don't wear helmets are helmets!
I bet you wear armbands in the bath.
@@pipewilliams.2039 Most deaths occur because they just tripped over.Is it worth it? Or are you pretending to be tough, haven't you noticed all of the rescue services ware them.while rescuing dimbo's such as you.So you don't get too upset I've awarded you a medal.🎖️
Do you have any tips on how to balance so well and walk across it? I would need to scramble and use my hands but you are walking across it. How can I improve my balance?
I would suggest generally practicing balance and agility where ever possible. When it comes to something like crib goch, concentrate on every step and take your time.
Your partner just casually stumbled a few times as if he was on the beach! And then he took the lead round a tricky bit, awesome stuff 😎
Gnarly
Why would anyone do this
To show off.
This is a Grade 1 Scramble for a reason it's very, very easy, myself and my 8 year daughter did this together not so long ago, while we up there we were passed by a guy that was running it....
1983 my Dad took me up there, then the clouds dropped and we were in a white out. Looking back with this video is scary.
The year of my birth.
@@pipewilliams.2039 oh great. Thanks for making me feel so old. Lol.
Did it this weekend, a bit blustery & misty, so no views & slightly slippery in parts. Think I used up a years worth of adrenaline moving far, far slower than these guys. Amazing, great video.
I did tryfan and glyder Fach today, shit myself, my mate wants to do crib goch next 😬
Great vid and music goes well with it. My dad took me my sister and 2 of our friends across this ridge when we were around 10/11. I remember sitting down being afraid to move at one point, shear drop both sides. Got across in the end. Found an old pic of us all but didn’t know where it was so asked an old walker I know and he said it was crib goch! Thanks dad!!!!We are gonna do this again when the time is right 👌
I did this when I was 17, 38 now and there's no way I'd take my kids up there 😂. Took them up the Llanberis path and that was worrying enough for me.
Im lucky enough to go to Wales..Brecon Beacons and the Lake district at least once a year and have climbed many mountains. Crib Goch is by far the most exhilarating route..absolutely loved it and wish to return one day
Just my opinion, but no need for music soundtrack - the audio from the camera during the walk would have been better
Very sorry. Will try harder next time. 😔
@@pipewilliams.2039 don’t get me wrong - video was BRILLIANT! No need to try harder…. Just personally I wanted to hear what that walk sounded like as well. You’re pretty brave to be taking selfies whilst doing that walk…….
@richardpoynton4026 shut up you twat. The song is a masterpiece and adds to the video
I did this with my Dad when a teenager. It is far more dangerous than it looks. Great respect for everyone that has done this.
I did this with my mates when I was 17. There's no way I'd take my kids there now 😂. The shots do not do it justice.
You are kidding. It looks ridiculous
I did it when I was 7 and then again aged 9. It’s left me with a lasting fear of heights.
F*ck That!
Went over the rige 60 years ago in sports jacket jeans and leather shoes I was fourteen you do silly things when your young with no idea what was to come first time ever up snowdon.
Pmsl quality, my first peak in the lake District I did in a pair of Fred Perry tennis trainers and a bottle of coke, shit for brains or what, been doing it for 8 years now on a good level and have many wainwrights to my name and a few Munro's, crib Gogh is on the cards this Sunday for the first visit to wales
Merry Christmas Pipe, have a good one,
Merry Christmas to you too. Much more videos in 2022!!
Beautiful place. I’ve done that in a white out.
Climbed this 2 weeks ago in the pouring rain, high winds and no vision. Was the most insane thing I have done but felt so liberating. I can’t wait to go again
Yh I'm going tomorrow, it's ment to be raining a lot is there anything else you'd recommend I bring accept the normal stuff?
@@tremexslayzerocketleague7063 A balance pole.
@@pipewilliams.2039 Would of been a good idea, there way less than 10 people there yesterday due to weather and 2 turned back. I was able todo all of it. Not going down the sides after knifes edge and going up all the peaks on the way :)
@@tremexslayzerocketleague7063 good work 👍🏻
Obviously no such thing as vertigo for these two spider men... absolutely fantastic... The music is so chilled...
How do they walk so fast and without something in their hand. I would want my hands free for balance.
I practiced on my roof.
I did this in the summer of 1987. I was only ten years old. You don't have fear as a child.
I’m doing this on Friday, might try it in stilettos
Make sure you take a selfie if you do! 😆 enjoy 🤙🏻
