The Tudor FXD - US NAVY EDITION is out, but what did Tudor accidentally release on their website?
Tudor just dropped the latest incarnation of their titanium fixed lug Pelagos, the FXD. What's different about it this time is a lot less interesting than what Tudor accidentally released on their website...

How to Fit your Under the Cuff Quick Release Strap
Просмотров 2423 года назад
Under the Cuff Two-Piece straps all come with Quick Release spring bars to facilitate easier fitting and removal. Two Piece straps will fit very snug at first until they are worn in. This is so they do not become undersized over time through wear and tear, so it can be tricky to fit them the first time. These videos shows you helpful techniques to fit and remove the straps more easily.
great narrative review, very different from just the specs etc. However, one question remains about the M100a in my mind. Does it have a ghost crown position (for date setting), or is there only one pull out position for setting the time? Would be great to know.
Now aiming to get the XX or the Spitfire (sold my 16) Are you still loving yours?
@@Valera_Scotland I actually sold mine recently and very reluctantly. I loved wearing it so much.
Need more stills of the watch instead of you reading from a laptop.
Don't quit your day job. Horrible set up for watch stuff.
Don’t worry, your mum keeps me too busy to do this full time.
@@underthecuffofficial My mum died of cancer 2 years ago and was cremated. How is she keeping you busy?
I bet she’d be proud of you anonymously belittling strangers’ efforts.
@@underthecuffofficial And your mum is equally proud of you arguing on RUclips via your unpopular no hope channel and saying you had sex with someone's dead mum. I'm betting she is trash like you so probably wouldn't care. Taking screenshots for posterity.
I’m a retired US Navy CDR and can say with ALL certainty that the Tudor FXD has NOTHING to do with the US Navy. Let’s keep it real. Nice watch, tho. I prefer the Frenchy version
Polishing watches is a major offence.
I completely understand that sentiment if it were a brushed edge, but polishing the already polished edges?
I have my late father's Vertex Dirty Dozen circa 1944, used it regularly until about 11yrs ago and although now in a display case it's wound every day and is still keeping good time.
That’s great to hear that you still have it and it’s still running!
I took it to a local watch repairer recently intending to have it serviced but after the consideration of the dangers of the radium on the face and hands and the work involved I've decided to leave things as they are and keep it in the display case unwound. I have had offers to sell it but it is of great sentimental value not only to me but also to my grandson who admires not only for it's looks but also it's history. Thank you for your reply.
IWC is a brand that has engaged in ridiculous overpricing. I don’t know how much value they put on their metal straps because on a leather strap this watch is £3000 at best. indeed, you can get the same movement for exactly that money. I’m not sure how much more money their printed dial costs than the printed dial on a Tudor. I would agree that the IWC printed dial is the best one, and I do like the design, but Price is way over the mark.
Agree with u that Iwc is overpriced but then again so does every other luxury brand. Rolex is also overpriced if not for its resale value and if Iwc has the same resale value, overpriced or not people will flock to buy it.
I have a pilot chrono as well and he’s right. The Mark XX is far more special.
What about the Timor?
Your going to regret selling that beauty
There’s only so much space in the metaphorical closet. Yeah the Tudor was a beauty, but there’s plenty more fish in the sea. Onwards!
The M100 will be released in 36 mm for the 80th anniversary of D-Day in limited edition
Vertex told me it would be released on D-Day, however it would not be limited.
Can’t decide weather to pull the plug on this ? Any help
What’s holding you back?
Do you still have this watch? How well did it keep time? I’ve read some mixed things about it. Some say it’s spot on, others say it runs fast as it goes through power reserve. I’m seriously looking at one
Date window (03:00) 🙈. We need a no-date version... By the way, we do not want a "ghost date space" in a no-date watch...
Good post. The FXD is my next want
That MP45 is incredibly beautiful. Surprisingly one can’t find more videos on YT about it. Thank you for reviewing it
Thank you for this, which is informative, but a lot more close up views of the watch are needed, because as you describe features we look at you and the watch is tiny in your hands a lot of the time.
Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely take this onboard 👍😎
You really should have contacted Timor and included the Timor Heritage field. I think Timor did a much better job with their rendition having the same dimensions as the original and offering a manual wind movement as well as an automatic and for a much better price than the Vertex, and of course Vaer no longer offers the A10.
Can’t stress how crisp and refined the new FXD is. Makes my lhd feel like a hunk of lead.
Hey hey, easy there! I own said “hunk of lead” (or rather “hunk of titanium” grade 2). And now I own this as well. I love them both. I take my FXD in places where I wouldn’t take my LHD. FXD=Ocean, LHD=Pool. LOL, cheers!
You actually made what could have been a contender for Dullest Video of the Year quite interesting. 😂 I've bought one of the Cape Cod cloths, so I'm just scouting around RUclips learning from others' experience before I attempt to remove one small scratch from an otherwise pristine watch.
For a video titled The Tudor FXD- US Navy Edition....I didn't see much watch. Not at all.
For those Oyster bracelets, be sure to tape off the brushed surfaces with scotch so they don't get shiny.
thank you
Cape Cod is great, Rolex's best friend. Its really fun to bring back the original pristine surfaces.
I really like the carbon FXD chrono but without the Alinghi and Red Bull marking which is tacky. But forged carbon is a really cool material, stronger than titanium and 3x as light.
The only material characteristic that forged carbon lacks from its metallic counterparts is hardness, making it susceptible to scratches and chips. I too would love an unbranded Carbon version, which I suspect will eventually find its way into the stable of production for Tudor at some point in the future, and eventually trickle down into “better value” brands such as Timex et al.
Some people are still pining for a cheap Submariner from Tudor, just as they wish they could go back in time and buy bitcoins for a dollar. Thats very silly. If Rolex were to design a milsub today, for a military client, it would be this FXD. Its affordable, rugged, top quality, and meets the specs. No military would want to buy a remake from the 70s. So rejoice and live in the modern era! Its like today's astronauts, none of them goes to space with the original Moonwatch, they use x33, although they receive both from Nasa.
I totally agree. 👍
I think you are missing the mark here. The ultimate sub is the Rolex and now this is the closest thing to it. The color black is a game changer and now an actually usable bezel is huge. The red Pelagos is icing on the cake. I believe in time they will come out with this same watch with a titanium bracelet then this along with the FXD variant will be the ultimate dive watches for the foreseeable future surpassing even the Rolex sub for bang-4-the buck.
It’s crazy, how it’s appealing to the US market but the country that has the largest consumers of luxury goods is South Korea.
There was always going to be a black version of the blue (i.e. Marine Nationale) Pelagos FXD. It was always inevitable, IMO. Looking to the future, the a maroon coloured option wouldn't amaze me. Or Green - if that isn't reserved for Rolex? But black - that had to happen. (I'm an owner of the MN - which is an absolutely first rate watch for casual/vacation/outdoor use.)
I’m glad it’s not a milsub. There’s enough Rolex copies in this world already
why is everyone so worried about the launch party? what does that matter? lol. I think this is the best Tudor release thus far.
I love my MN FXD. It spoiled me. No spring bars - no worries. Satisfyingly long hands that reach the edges of the dial perfectly. I now am annoyed when I see short hands that cannot reach the indexes. Before I was lost looking for a watch that would suit my taste. With its utilitarian and almost brutalist design, the FXD is my go to watch and now I have no desire to purchase anything else...
It’s a great watch and I wish I still had mine.
I think it has a 60 click bezel instead of the 120 found on the MN. Also, isnt the FXD line already a Pro watch so adding a model with the Pro wording would surely be redundant?
Wel that’s kinda my point that I made in a backward sort of way. That the BB Pro wasn’t very pro which leads me to wonder, what IS a “pro” Tudor
Would a 39mm FXD be in direct competition with the 39mm Pelagos?
Not really I think, because the 39mm BB Pro is a GMT with normal lugs. A 39mm FXD would be a time only watch with fixed lugs.
I don’t want a Tudor sub. I have a sub. I also have a blue fxd and wanted a black and here it is. More excited about this than any other release this year. I don’t understand why so droll. It’s a beauty piece.
Firstly, thanks for watching. Many people have it in their head that one day a Tudor Sub will be re-released. The out of the blue announcement of a new model, paired with a teaser video featuring lots of heavy reference to the Tudor submariner was only ever going to lead on people with those thought in their head I suppose. Sorry for appearing droll, just a bit underwhelmed following the big fanfare. As stated the watch looks great and is a killer piece. The monotone appearance only improves versatility.
Same here. I can’t wait to get one of these! It looks amazing in a way the blue dial and reverse countdown bezel never did!
100% agree! After wearing the black variant for a few weeks, I like this watch more and more everyday. The matte treatments make for a chameleon in various lighting conditions… even get grey (925) vibes sometimes.
Hi there, looks so good i think, thank you so much 🙏🏻 There are hairline scratches on the small shiny area above the crown on the right side of my watch. But the area is too small... (Hamilton khaki aviation pilot day date auto - Cooper) There's something i'm really curious about, will anything bad happen if cape code touches non-shiny surfaces?
Nothing bad will happen if it’s a light touch. But if you repeatedly brush the cloths against the non-polished surface, you will start to lose the brushed finish as the cloth begins to polish the surface. It’s ok to use a piece of electrical tape to protect the brushed areas.
Nice episode! Not a huge fan of these mashups, though. Swatch must think there's a big upside here, but in my mind it only cheapens this iconic brand and model. 🤔
There’s a massive upside. Money. Swatch can’t make enough MoonSwatches to fulfil demand and they’re making about 80% profit on each one. It also served to draw attention to a brand like Blancpain which lurks in the shadows.
Swatch is a very collectible brand so I dont personally see this as a bad idea. The collaboration with Omega was a huge success to them so is most definitely worth exploring with the other brands, although Omega’s reputation is far higher than the others. Great Video 😮
System 51 fathoms ...
Swifty Swathoms ha! Fab video! Really well shot and I love that shirt 😁
Thanks Sam, I was channeling my inner Wei Koh!
I think you were the first to call this on Instagram! Btw, This is your best made vid yet! Excellent lighting, editing and camera positioning👌🏼
I was indeed. Thanks for the kind words Mike 👍😎
Taylor will have a field day suing Swatch for that Swifty Swathoms option 😂 Im pretty much bored of these watches already. Maybe if they'd have stopped with the first round of Moonswatches there would be a little more excitement in my tank. 😶🌫️😂 I'll obvs be watching out for your swift review once it gets released though!
Haha if I can get my hands on one! I heard a friend of mine has a VC Overseas, so I might ask to review that instead 😉
If this is over 100m wr I’d be very surprised. You need to be fuelled with booga suga so you dish out threats of violence towards your audience, that’d give it a more authentic Wei Koh vibe. 😂
😆
Nice one Matt. Great Swatching the vid. Can’t wait to see how the carnage ensues 😂😅😂
Carnage for sure! When do you think the queues will start forming?
🌟 Swuperb episode, Matt!
Haha, thanks John
Great show my friend
Thank you so much mate! Hope you’re well.
TMWC could try to review the Mp45H… what a masterpiece
I purchased this watch on the steel bracelet in Canada 2 months ago. Today I bought the white hybrid strap from Under the Cuff. I hope it’s worth the $104 Can. They offered a 10% discount, but with the $17 Can shipping it was still $110 Can. My watch runs fast, +4 seconds a day. If you place it crown down when not wearing it, it keeps perfect time. I went on a 4 day golf trip, and when I came home it was still ticking away, almost perfect time. The bracelet if very comfortable and the lume is not great, but sufficient for a semi-dress watch. The watch is very east to read, but not the date wheel. I like the white background, but the black numbers should be thicker. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
The Mk XX can definitely handle a rubber two piece strap. It’s versatility as a sporty dress watch or a dressy sports watch means it looks great on everything from a NATO to a bracelet. Congrats on the purchase, wear it in good health and will get the strap out to you first thing. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks for your comment and your custom.
The Vertex M100 is a beautiful piece. I took a gamble on one several years ago and was not disappointed. It's been my go-to watch for a few years now, with much more expensive pieces collecting dust.
Bonitos aunque caros
Bravo 👏
Guess military pilots fly under the radar, so … B)
