Ep 252 Shana Meyerson: YOGAthletica & The Power of Movement
Welcome to the Strength Connection Podcast.
Shana Meyerson is an internationally renowned Yoga teacher and practitioner, and the founder of YOGAthletica.
In 2002, Shana was one of the few instructors outside of India teaching yoga to children. A trailblazer in the field that was once considered ridiculous and is now ubiquitous.
Today, Shana is the only instructor on earth who is globally recognized as a leader in both the adult and children’s yoga spaces.
Shana joins me in this episode to talk Yoga, keys to teaching children movement, and taking a big leap from what you thought you should do, to what you know you were meant to do.

Thanks for having me! 🤸 It was great to commit!
You bet!
Do you think for a person who is afraid of darkness it will be helpful or on the contrary? Thank you for the video
great question. I could speculate, but a full dive into it might not be the best right off the bat, but work your way up to it.. Thank you for watching!
I love how you guys mention the benefits of reading fiction books. We can often get stuck with all the mindset books and stifle our imaginations.
Thank you. I agree, it's easy to get so caught in the non-fiction, development material, when reading a fun, good story does great things for our imagination and creativity.
bro change your name
Sry Too long small talks before primary subject. A little of information, a lot of self promotions and acting "look ama good person" Hope it helps. I really do.
thank you for your comment
Great interview gentlemen 👏👏
Thanks so much for watching!
So you wanna eat at the table or what do you wanna do?
Awesome interview!
Thank you for watching!
True it sucks doing it but personally I’ve seen growth in myself by doing what he’s saying
Thank you for the comment!
Rock solid 🤙
Thank you brother
My review of Planet Pizza: I was craving Chinese food but my insurance agent, Jeff, told me he was apprehensive about Chinese food, so we came here. It was the cleanest, best facility I’ve ever visited. The tables and chairs are cute-built good. The staff instantly offered us a hug, which we naturally accepted. We watched the Steelers-Ravens game and had ourselves a small pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Color me surprised but the small was just as big as the large. We decided to take our orange juices with us, since we were going to the beach. 13/13 recommend this place, you’ll want it again and again. Next time Jeff said he wants to go with me, my mommy, and my daddy. Chris isn’t allowed because Jeff said he’s no fun.
I love this! And great Carl Jung quote thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is beyond me. I`ll reviist when I have studied more.
Did you grab the book? It's an amazing resource
Why would he change his name to a chomo just to be famous. I don’t get that even a little 😂😂😂😂 no possible way on pizza planet earth it’s his God given name.
great show.thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
How do I create something vs how do I get money out of people #gold
Excellent interview - thanks for doing this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fruitful Conversation !! Bro apart from this Genius man which mentors or books do i need to study to further build myself for confident mind & dealing with adversity in testing times ??
Books- if you haven't dove into Ryan Holiday's work, I would say go there. Obstacle is the Way and Stillness is the Key are two absolute must reads.
Awesome interview
Thanks for listening!
I remember doing his first chiseled programs. I used his bands and told people at that point that bands were the way to go. People would laugh at me then. To this day I tell people about bodylastics and now they have heard of them and often have used them. Haha full circle. Blake is literally my fitness hero because of what he has done for the fitness world.
Thanks for the comment!!
My favorite is clean/press/squat/pull up. Perfect full body workout that also works your cardio.
Love that!
What motivates you are not getting even 1000 view ,may be you like to talk with great people and doesn't care about views
Thanks for the insight
Great conversation, so many valid points
Thank you for listening
Hi Michael, thanks for this episode! I've followed Brett Jones on IG for some time now and have heard both Dan John and Pavel Tsatsouline speak very highly of him. Looking forward to his insights. As an aside, I'm curious how you have only 430 subscribers (+1 after me), especially given both the volume and quality of your podcast. Did you have to take down and restart your account? Or did something else happen?
Thank you for the comment. It's a goal to put more emphasis on building the youtube channel this year.
I actually agree with the good ol days 😂 moving towards that more every year!
Thank you!
18:25 mark talking about strength creating more mobility…. I think in most cases stronger DOES create more mobility. But… Getting stronger at WHAT? Is it stronger at Barbell Squats? Or maybe it’s stronger at RFE Split Squats as an example? Finding deficits and getting stronger at those is the thing that keeps you mobile.
It's a great topic of discussion, a lot of different avenues you can go down
A fun phrase pertaining to one conversation points came into my head the other day. The phrase was “do you want to do something hard or do you want to do something productive?” It was fun to hear you both expound on this, thank you!
Thank you so much for the comment!
I love the part of the conversation on allostatic load and training in different seasons of life. I needed to hear that.
I loved that part too. Thanks so much!
fantastic interview! thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So happy to catch this episode. I am currently doing his MAXIMORUM program.
Me too! I just started it. What do you think so far?
Awesome Man!
great show.thank you
Thank you for listening!
Love the channel Michael, I started listening to your podcast the first time when you had Brooks Kubik on who is one of my strength training idols. Your conversations with people about strength and nutrition is amazing. I hope u include hashtags in your description though as your content is so good, more people need to see your stuff. Definitely adding hashtags like #fitness, #training, #strength, #workouts, #mindset and #discipline would help 😁💪
Thanks for listening! I appreciate the feedback immensely
Awesome interview…love Bodylastics
Thanks for listening!
Great content👍
Glad you think so!
Cool. Referred being trained by Luka. Great podcast
Awesome! Thank you!
Does he know what hes talking about..
Yes, very much so
My grandfather, who had asbestos hands from working with steel plates used to say "if you've got a strong grip, you are strong".
Great comment!
Stamp collecting????? That sucks!!!!
I have copy 2061 of the first edition. It changed my life at age 15. Brooks Kubik blessed many people. Still go back to this book today. This book came with me to freakin’ Iraq.
Great comment!
I love seeing Kobe in the background :3
Thank you!
Looking forward to this one!
It's gonna be a banger, my friend, believe that!
Hope you like it!
I’m no Byzantine Emperor, but I do eat pretty much only meat and carry around a 56 kg Kettlebell! 😁
Keep working at it :)
❤❤

Great stuff brother. I can really take something from this message
So glad you did!
Want a slice?
Thanks for having me on again, Mike. It’s always a blast!
Any time!

First.
Great interview! I’ve been training with Peter for over seven years now and I just turned 69. I am more mobile and way stronger than I ever was when I was younger. Peter never gets boring. He’s an awesome trainer.
Beautiful Message!
This was so great, Thank you again, Mike!
My pleasure!
