Excellent
Thank you!
Is it 60lbs out of the box?
It's adjustable from 20-70 lbs
@ thanks, I was wondering what the preset lbs were? It was preset at 26inches on draw length, didn’t know if it had a preset draw weight. I’ve adjusted the length (to 28), but was wondering about the weight.
@@stormraven989 Typically the limb bolts are turned all the way in out of the box. At 26" the bow won't hit 70 lbs, but likely 65ish lbs. Thanks!
Lots of you, very little "arrow" : (
I'm working on another video of their .204 shafts. I'll try to do better!
For target and 3D I like the Basin because of the longer ATA and forgiving brace height. It will draw smooth and be a quality bow for the price. Feel free to call, text or email if you'd like to discuss this in more detail.
Just started with Archery, and mostly focused on target shooting, perhaps some 3D come spring/summer. Looking at a started bow, and font have a lot of stores here with a mix of inventory. The Diamond Edge Max is recommended started bow, but it seems like the Elite Basin would be a bit higher quality, both in bow and accessories. Would that be correct? The Hoyt Torrex and Bowtech Amplify would appear a further step up, but perhaps less forgiving and not as easy to adjust/grow into. Curious about your thoughts.
3 fps isn’t enough to even bother with. I have the envision so it has the performance mod on it. 30” draw length 427 grain arrow 62-63lb draw weight and my arrows are shooting about 289-291 fps
Which is the better bow Diamond Edge xt or the Diamond Edge 320?
I wouldn't say that one is better than the other, but each are built differently. The Edge 320 is going to be a little more expensive, but it will have a binary cam and will be faster. The XT has yokes, but draws smoother. The grips are different as well. The XT has a smaller grip and will fit female and youth hands better.
Have been waiting for you to do another review. I'm a Mathews guy but like your videos and info you provide on the bows you review.
Thanks! It's been a busy year and RUclips has taken a back seat, but I hope to get caught up soon!
this is my first compound. very confidence building seems very accurate and easy to shoot.
Il am de vreo 10 luni, e un arc superb, iubesc CP30-ul meu! Incercati-l, nu veti regreta! 🤩
This is a thorough and helpful review. Am now comparing the Kairos to the Exalt as both suit my shorter draw length. Thanks for posting it
Glad it was helpful! 2025 bows will be out soon, and I'll do a full comparison when I have them
@@coyotecreekarchery I will look for it when posted
What style camo was this sir I am looking to get this bow ordered in at my local archery/hunting store!!!
The camo on that particular bow is Mossy Oak Breakup Country. It has been replaced by Mossy Oak DNA, but you may still be able to find an Amplify in the Breakup Country pattern. Good luck!
@@coyotecreekarchery thank u sir! For the fast reply and great video might I say! Good night and thanks again from central Texas
Also just subbed and turned on notifications!! Can’t wait for more content
Given your shorter draw length, I'm a little surprised that you didn't go with the Kairos, which has the same riser & limbs, plus cams that are designed with the shorter draw length archer in mind. Keep up the good work on your reviews, I'm a fellow short-draw mcGraw, at 28"....
I shot both the Kairos and Ethos side by side quite a bit before landing on the Ethos primarily because of the larger brace height. That doesn't mean that I haven't ruled out owning one of each! Both are amazing bows! Thanks!
How did you get it to tune/time? No matter what I did it will not time
It's difficult to get it perfect, but focus on arrow flight vs perfect timing. I get it as close as I can, then fine tune with half twists on one side of the buss cable at a time.
Best test...well structured... no questions left...a joy to watch...ordered one after I watched Your video!!! Thanks from Germany👍
Thank you! I glad that I was helpful and I hope that you enjoy your new bow! I spent time in Germany when I was in the Army. (Kaiserslautern and Pirmasens) loved it!
How's the basin holding up after 2 years in your opinion? I'm currently looking to purchase one.
Holding up very well!
@@coyotecreekarcheryI was looking at getting this as my first bow also. Would you take this over the Hoyt Torrex or Alaskan GT or Bowtech Amplify ?
@@AfcaptKappa All that you mentioned are great bows. It's really going to come down to you shooting all of them and which one you prefer. Out of those three I would put the Elite at the top in terms of quality (fit/finish). Good luck!
I’ve tried them all. Wrist strap by far works best for me.
Is the vibration comparison fair? The allure looks like it has dampeners on the limbs.
It does, but this is how the bows come from the factory
@@coyotecreekarchery gotcha.
Thank you for the straight forward video. I will consider using your services
Very informative Matt, thanks. Don Bunting 😊
I love my ethos. I won't be buying another bow for awhile
Thanks for your reviews , good luck this season. , I have 3 elites , great bows
Love my ethos still setting it up with the bars. I like what you did with your bar set up. Might I recommend the VPA three blades. I have shot them two seasons now same broad heads just a little re-sharpening and going to use them again this year. Fly amazing
VPA makes great heads, and I looked into being a dealer, but their margins are terrible. Not worth it for me. Magnus has never failed me!
I shoot 3 blade fixed also. What vanes work best for fixed. I was looking at aae hp. How are the vanes workings on your set up.
AAE HP is a great option. They steer a fixed blade really well. I'm currently using AAE Max Stealth, and those two would be my top choices.
Great reminder
1 year later. Any issues with this bow you knowof?
I have seen some with serving separation in the cables. Bowtech has been quick to send out replacement cables and even replacement cams which has fixed the issues. Otherwise they have been great!
@coyotecreekarchery I had gotten a sweet deal on a bowtech solution. Took it to archery shop to check it out ajd get it set up. He put it on the draw board. It drew fine but then wouldn't release . Cams locked up. Everything looked mint but couldn't figure it out. Luckily it was able to be returned. Got it used on ebay. Then gave a 2nd look at cp30 ajd just didn't like the grip in my hand. I went with a pse fortis 33 70# e2. Hoping to really enjoy it without issues either
@@c.r.rg9529 It sounds like the bow was drawn with the cable stops removed which would cause it to lock up. Should be an easy fix. I loved my Solution, wish I still have it! PSE makes great bows as well, I hope it works out for you! Thanks!
@@coyotecreekarchery thanks for the input knowledge and response
Hi from Perth Western Australia look at this bow for 3 d targets and hunting here in aust does it come with new centre sight ?? Thanks ian aust
It has the cutout for mounting a Centermass sight which is purchased separately
Ive been debating on buying a bowtech cant decide between the new core sr , sr350 or cp 30. My dl is 27.5 28, out west hunting its really beclme paralysis by analysis at this point. Pros and cons on all i did shoot the core sr next to the lift and thought it was a breeze of a draw. I do think the sr similar to the sr350 only the added timelock and center mass tech. Any suggestions also was close to getting the cp 30 but am weary as i am a western run and gun guy no tree stands. Thank you appreciate the videos keep it up
The SR350 and Core SR are very similar and I really like both. I had a CP30 but didn't care for the shorter ata. If you can find a good price on the SR350 it's a great bow. If not, the Core SR is awesome as well and has more features.
@coyotecreekarchery Thanks for the insite. Actually helps alot. I do have a good deal on a sr350 right now so I think I'll go that direction save some money.
I have the option between this and the edge max and the edge XT. What are the key differences ? Whats your preference between the two?
What will you be using the bow for? What is your draw length?
@@coyotecreekarchery I'll be hunting with it and target /hobby shooting, I'm a 28.5 in draw. I had an old jr browning bow but grew out of it years ago, trying to get back into it. The xt seems slightly "cheaper" feeling to me. I'm leaning towards the max, the guys at my local archery store see.to really like the "bear" bows but they, it's all they had in their stock so I'm not sure if there's an angle to why theyre pushing just the one bow
@@simix666 I think that the Max would be a better fit for you. The XT is slower and the grip is smaller. The Max will be faster with a bigger brace height. I have one in stock that I would set up to your specs and ship to you if you are interested.
@@coyotecreekarchery I'd love to give you the sale bud but I live up in Canada. Price difference and shipping wouldn't be worth it. Thanks though .
@@simix666 Thank you, and good luck!
Nice thorough review , very descriptive !!
Thank you!
Your welcome ! Have you shot the Darton Consequence yet ?
@@juicecarlson948 I have not, but I'd really like to!
DITTO !!
G'day from Australia. thanks for the review, this bow from your review looks amazing. I hope to try one out soon. However archery shops are a long way from where I live. So very much appreciated your time to review this bow. Cheers.
I love my bow tech but I hate the thin grips.I wish I could get a fat grip machined out of wood to put on my bow other than that I love it
You might try some grip tape. I love the thin grip!
Do you sell single arrows with their associate parts so people can see which arrow flies best for their bows? I remember one of you RUclips archery shops saying that they do.
Sorry, I don't do that currently. Maybe down the road
@@coyotecreekarcheryA lot of people on ArcheryTalk are looking for that option. You may be looking at an untapped market where you'll be able to sell plenty of arrows and field points for people to play with.
Great Video Matt!! Glad you are putting stuff out there about this threat. Its real!!
Thanks Alex! I think we can do a lot of good if we all stick together and support these efforts.
@@coyotecreekarchery I agree!!
I'm tossing up between this... and a Chinese Topoint Trigon. Both have aluminium limb pockets, both are cnc machines risers, both are highly customisable and the Trigon has harmonic dampenerd built in....
Support American manufacturing!
Could you please do a video on how to adjust the holding weight?
This video ruclips.net/video/F3uzputbGjg/видео.htmlfeature=shared at the 2:40 mark will explain how to do it. It's very easy
KI
Nice to see someone chrono at 60# for a change. More applicable to what I shoot.
In my shop, most shooters are drawing 55-65#. Thanks!
Gold tip arrows at fleet farm ,great arrows and cheap and they’ll do anything thease high buck arrows will do .the only ones that might notice a difference in arrows are the pros. Levi could shoot any cheap carbon arrows and win any 3d tournament.
have you ever tried using better arrows? I never, until I tried these, they make a lot of difference.
U may be the only person on earth who thinks aae sticks better than bohning. Interesting. There is definitely still a stiff side to the shafts.
In my experience with fletching thousands of arrows the AAE vanes stick better than Blazers. Thanks!
@@coyotecreekarchery yea that’s interesting. You’re in the super short list forsure.
@@jwild5360 agreed they see need a primer pen 🖊️ and I used them a little bit last season and they aren’t as good as bohning IMHO👍😁🏹🎯
@@anthonyforfare7223 yep they sell a kit bc it’s needed. A Q2i vane will stick to a 2x4 with a glue stick lol
@@jwild5360 facts 🏹🎯👍😁💥🔥😂🤣😎
Those straight lines in the riser makes it look too ugly. 🙏🏼😊 The one behind in the poster looks better.
can you put the 9 inch on the back
Sure can
I have one similarly set up like yours. I am trading out better accessories then it came with while learning archery with this bow before getting a a better one. Nice thing as your mentioned, I already have a nephew, who this bow is going to after I upgrade and he'll learn on it as well, before handing it to his son to use, due to its adaptability
That's great that you are introducing the younger generation to the sport of archery as well!
Thanks Matt for all you do and GOD bless you and your family
I don’t see BT selling many of those , better options, price n performance on an Elite Terrain n some of the Bear models
Still missing an Integrated system, no Pic for front sight…Cam Lock is really only thing they have going for them!
where is your arrow rest straight through thru Berger holes? iv herd little different also 3/4 center shot or 13/16 or so
Yes, centered through the berger hole. I start at 13/16 with the center shot and adjust from there as needed
This bow should be priced like Dartons Consequence and they would probably sell some. Crazy it has none of the cam tuning features, no roller guard, no grip, etc. It would be reasonable at 6-700, not 1000+. Darton did their mid price bow right, most all of the flagship features at a budget friendly price.
I agree 100%
Thanks for your videos n reviews , hope you have w great 2024 with your shop
Thanks!
cp 30 70 lbs you can turn out 10 turns to 60 or so correct
No more than 10 turns from max poundage. bowtecharchery.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/CP30-Owner-Manual.pdf
