Brandi Carlile is my number one musical idol. My channel is filled with mostly Brandi shows, but also any musician/band adjacent to her as well. Peace, Love, and Music.

Goosebumps…….❤❤❤
Love....love.....love
Keep singing this Brandi. Beautiful!
I understand my mother was an alcoholic, but sadly after she passed away, I found out what led her to become an alcoholic at the age of 7 to 14. She was brutally violently raped by her father. She was never the same. She became an alcoholic, then became an agoraphobic and I never knew until after she passed so I understand this song completely. 😢
That's very sad. :( Why it's important to resist judgement on those that suffer from alcoholism.
@@stephaniehickshomon absolutely agree!
Shoulda followed her instincts.
Beautiful job, Brandi!! Great pipes.
I love this ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Written by songwriter, Gary White. Beautiful.
Brilliant performance. Mary is such a great singer and songwriter.
I’m heterosexual but appreciate all of these stories. This one was epic
Wow thank you Brandi
Great job! Have the real strings is killer. Funny story - I used to play with a gal who could really sing the hell out of this, and we were playing for an audience when my old elastic capo just flew off my guitar and into the crowd. We couldn't stop laughing for 15 minutes.
That is funny. I saw her sing this the day after this performance. My second time seeing her. I'm 72 next week, and she claims she'll be back to my local venue, Tanglewood in Lenox , Mass. as she loves the place. who wouldn't.
Brandi has a beautiful voice too...great cover ❤
Beautiful, heartfelt performance. Moves me tremendously.. Thank you.
The one that hurts you is not the one that heals you
100%
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful!!! 🥹
Brandi Carlisle is genuine and passionate. Seeing Linda perform live is one of my best memories. ❤❤❤❤
Linda would be proud of Brandi. She did a great job.
Melanie Safka did this song as well, maybe even before Ronstadt did hers. It was also very good.
Linda Ronstadt is a very hard act to follow but Brandi really does an excellent job with this wonderful song
Really beautiful. Linda's is stunning, and I like that Brandi didn't try to copy it exactly. I so miss Linda's singing. I think I have everything she ever recorded. One of the only artists who can have concerts that are often better than studio work. Brandi can do that too..
I agree! 💗
amazing talent; can't wait to see her in Portsmouth, NH in August
I’ll be seeing Brandy again in August, in Maine. So excited she’s coming near my hometown.
Good effort. I prefer Linda’s phrasing though.
Beautiful 🎶
Respect delivered with grace and beauty.
Great job singing a wonderful tune from yesteryear!
This is just the best
Beautiful song!!💝
Beautifully performed.
Good Stuff!
Beautifully done and I do love Brandi, but Linda’s the one and only ❤
Love this.
I didn’t realize she was such a good singer, sultry
First time i heard this circa 1977, I have been in love with this song ever since.
10:51pm❤ Linda's version, w.out an orchestra, is superlative. Those tragic lyrics "Living in the memory of a love A that never was.." are matched only by her incredible vocalization. Thank you MS. Ronstadt
The upside down cross is concerning…
You must not know Brandi and her lifestyle well. She is a very faith-oriented Christian. Jewlery doesn't mean anything, one's actions and words are what count.
Girl you are human, we love that about you. You sang the hell out of this song!! Well done indeed!! 🙂
the cello and violin - wow!!
love when she does MMATW always!!!!
I saw this young lady last year and have to say it was the BEST concert I've seen in years. She was absolutely amazing...just her, her piano and her guitar. Alot of talent. I loved it!! Great song Brandi!
@@dholder7537 ye it’s very sweet and nice put across bless her, 👍🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I will ad her to my list. I was blessed to see so much talent through the 70s, and the ladies truly signed. I sawn Patti Loveless sing a acapella in a huge inside venue and you could hear a pin drop. Now Brandi is in my list!
beautiful cover - thanks for sharing!!
i enjoyed it. Thanks for loving this song. i do as well
shaky....her breath support is wonky and the vibrato is out of control. I expected much better. Gladys Knight or Beyonce could sing the hell out of this song. Or maybe Orville Peck. Kelly Clarkson!!!
Thank you for this video! Her intro had me rolling. Awesome
My lord pushing close to 80 and she would blow away these modern so called lass singers away at ease, it’s amazing, bless her, ♥️☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I wish I could tell all of you what it was like to see Linda sing this live back in the 70s. You could hear people breathing because everything went completely still, no matter how big the venue was. Her voice was aching and had that elastic quality about it. She was not only a phenomenal singer--she was singer who knew how to merge fully into a song, become a song, and take you there with her. "Long, Long Time" is one of the ten greatest ballads of the entire rock era. And Brandi is right: it's a hard damn song to sing, not only because of the range and control it requires but because of Linda's indelible version. Brandi does a great job here (is she ever really bad?). Such a beautiful tribute to Linda.
You are so right. Linda has an unmatchable quality to her voice. Seeing her in concert was absolutely amazing and was one that I will never forget.
@Branner, I saw Linda in Dallas in 1971 when she opened for Neil Young. Soundtrack of our youth was extraordinary.
@branner I was too young - just a chillin really in the 70's. but ohhhhh do I love me some Linda. Must have been magical live. She was the Taylor Swift of her Era, after all.
One of my favorites. Such a haunting melody.
I too remember! Thank you for sharing your experience with us and reminding me of mine!
Wonderful but a bit rushed..imo
One of favorite songs ever
Beautiful cover 💜
