MMB Pregame from the University of Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan Game...courtesy of the Big Ten Network
Honestly not surprised the band messed up, those were the Rich Rod days. Back when everyone was bad. Now we're back to owning Blowhio State.
wonder what these people are doing today…
Rose bowl champs 2024 let’s go!!!!😊
❤❤❤
There's no school in college with the spirit and family that Michigan has... none!
Michigan does things just a little better than the rest of the nation. 😊
If you have ever watched this band come out of the tunnel on Michigan St oh my god
The leader and the best band ever go blue
and this is just for an eastern game.
Go Blue!
Go Blue!!!
lol 0:32 they totally messed up
GO BLUE FOREVER 1#
Why not have a battle of drum majors? Ohio vs Michigan? Limbo style!
Go bucks #7straight
Go Blue #4straight #alltimeseries
No offense to the band or anything, but I noticed that some lines spread out from the sweep lines too early. Still a great performance!
GO BLUE BABIE
"If that doesn't get you fired up, I don't know what will. Unless you're an Ohio State fan then you're probably retching in the corner or something" LMAO
grrteryegtdg mjjjhhghdfd bvbhfhuf jhjght
Fear the Wolverines OSU nerds.
Yoshizilla HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Im sorry... they do that every home game for what... a thousand years... and they still mess it up?
2009grifin1 nobody is perfect mam
2009grifin1 like you've never made a mistake or error!😂
Even being an OSU fan, I can still definitely appreciate this :-) Guess growing up being a band geek does that to you.
I can definitely appreciate this as well, but being a band geek, I’m messed up. I was raised in a Purdue house and I dearly love the All-American marching band, but I am going to go to Ohio State which is not only TBDBITL but the best in the universe. But I appreciate this because my high school is in Notre Dame territory and has become the best combination of Notre Dame and Michigan ever... Blue and Gold.,.
A LO game basketball game football today football tomorrow pamper job Michigan band

All allegiances aside, how can anyone not appreciate something such as this?
Because they messed up the turning out of the M at the end of run-on.
AAndrews1968 Tom Brady Michigan good day you love
@@will5412 It was like a sucker punch in the gut just as you enter the ring for a fight. How could you prevent it? The cut move being signaled by the director, not the drumline or drum major, was put in place long ago. Even well-trained musicians make mistakes. Those that cut too soon clearly heard the drumline's error, at, :30. The emotional effect of the error can be heard in the crowd and seen in the band's performance in the remainder of the vid.
Mich fans check out my video on the MSU game
Our marching band uses their fight song :P
Please bring the band to the Maryland game in October, 2015.
Someone doesn't know what DCI is
The commentator is funny, "Now if that doesn't get you fired up, I don't know what will; unless, of course, you're an Ohio State fan-then you're probably retching the corner or something."
WakeEternal Michigan game basketball is good for lunch today and tomorrow football basketball
My highschool use this fight song...but obviously we have different lyrics and we don't do the "ahhh" thing but I think we do it justice.....however the cornhusker fight song is WAYYY better!!!!! GBR!!!!!
Anybody that is complaining because some members went out early just back off! Everybody makes mistakes and it was the first game of the season.
Would you like me to show you what Texas A&Ms band does week one? Then you tell me that "everyone makes mistakes".
The University of Michigan Marching Band was the very first college band to be awarded the prestigious Sudler Trophy and recognized as the top marching band in the nation by the John Philip Sousa Foundation. You can only win the Sudler Trophy once, so the school that wins it first is the most highly regarded, and that's the University of Michigan. lol It was John Philip Sousa himself that proclaimed that "The Victors", Michigan's famous fight song, was the greatest college football march ever composed. It was composed in 1898 by a University of Michigan student, Louis Elbel. "The Victors" was first performed publicly by Sousa's famous band with John Philip Sousa himself as conductor. So don't be jealous! We don't give a crap about other marching bands, because our band has the pedigree and accolades to back its superiority.
Yes, the Sudler Trophy, which is awarded by the John Philip Sousa Foundation, is considered the Heisman Trophy of band awards, and Michigan was the very 1st college marching band to be awarded the prestigious trophy. Also John Philip Sousa himself proclaimed that "The Victors" was the greatest college football march ever composed. It was also first performed publicly by Sousa & his famous band.
Then why did half the band in this clip swing the gates 8 counts early?
jpuckett351 A Google search found that they were awarded the trophy in 1982. Does that help? :-P
jpuckett351 It was the first game of the season- Give them a break.
Its also reported that the Victors is the ONLY song to have ever brought tears to the eyes of Bob Ufer. 100 MEEECHIGAN WOLVERINES!!!! And the best damn band too! GO BLUE!
GO BUCKS!
Omg please USC is so much better than this crap
Fuck USC
Lol your just jealous USC is much better they play rock charts these niggas suck ass
Andrew Neal NO WAY PITT got you all beat. Well maybe not. But yea ya know? ok am gone.
USC has never won the Sudler Trophy! That means that it has never been recognized as one of the top college marching bands in the nation by the John Philip Sousa Foundation. On the other hand, Michigan was the very 1st school to win the Sudler Trophy. The Sudler Trophy has been described as the Heisman Trophy of marching band awards by the LA Times, and it was the Michigan Marching Band that was the very 1st college band to be awarded the prestigious trophy. lol
Nathan De La Torre Not really man
Compared to the size, sound, and complexity of drill of bands like Auburn, LSU, Florida State, Tennessee, et cetera, I'm not impressed by any of these Big Ten Bands I've seen thus far including Ohio State.
Considering how most SEC bands are big, loud, boring and sloppy, I would disagree with you.
I doubt you know anything about marching bands, because the Big Ten has been recognized most of any conference for its excellent marching bands by the John Philip Sousa Foundation. Michigan has the high distinction of being the very first college band to be awarded the prestigious Sudler Trophy, and a total of 10 conference schools have won the Sudler Trophy. That's 10 out of 12 Big Ten schools, which is by far the best of any conference. You can only win the Sudler Trophy once, so Michigan is the most highly regarded marching band in the nation according to the Sousa Foundation. The Foundation chose to honor Michigan's marching band ahead of all other college bands in the nation.
Big, sloppy, and boring are all words that describe bands like bama and Florida, sure, but the good bands in the southern United States bring power and complexity to marching band WITHOUT cutting out woodwinds like OSU. As for me not knowing anything about marching bands, how about I've been marching going on nine years now, and chose my school in large part due to its great marching band program. OSU is sloppy and does popular songs (something that is not indicative of a drum corps band like most southern bands), and Michigan is really small in size with a proportional sound. As for the rest of the Big Ten, I'd have to say Wisconsin holds the best band up there by far. And yes, I know what the Sudler Award is. Just because you used to be good at something doesn't mean you still are (see Michigan football). More of the SEC schools have won it in recent years as well.
Alex Myrick TBDBITL "sloppy?" Uh, not quite.
Certainly. Compare it to the drum corps standard that Southern bands abide by, and it is very sloppy drill-wise, and musically atrocious. Of course the fans love it, but the vast majority of them know little to nothing about music.
Back bend by drum major is underwhelming. Almost... ALMost... Aaaaand screw it I'll just drop myself on my head.
Did you see there tubas swinging? Neither did I.
Ohio state is way better...
Western Michigan University Sound of western > University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band
Not at all.
University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band >>>>
The Dr. Seuss is strong in this buckeye watch out he might get a job when he gets out of jail..GO BLUE!
I love watching marching bands!
The drum major threw a beyonce at the beginning!!! Hahaha
BS, MS, PhD at UM. Loved every minute.
Still the BEST fight song ever!!! And NO I didn't go to school there either!!!
I didn't know Michigan's marching band had clarinets! Our high school marching band does too, but only because it's so tiny. :) But obviously college level clarinetists sound exponentially better than high school, so it's cool that they have them.
Sarcasm?
