You can buy them at petshops but I brought a massive bag of them that you would usually buy to mix into bird food but it's a lot cheaper and works just as well! The ones I have are dried :)

I do not agree at all. There is a possibility of offering a non-pellet diet, but you'd need to be 200% on top of it to fill every single one of their nutricional needs. Saying they "should not eat any pellets" is just wrong. Pellets aren't harmful at al!! Pellets should indeed be given DAILY in a quantity appropiate to their size. If you choose to give a rabbit a pellet free diet you'd be in the minority and you must be careful and maybe even give them rabbit appropiate suplements such as immunovet or the oxbow ones. To say it's wrong to give rabbits pellets is just not true and kinda insane.

@matiasroque4716 Well I don't know about recommendations in the US, but in Germany it's common knowlege to not feed any pellets to your bunnys. They are super harmful (especially the ones with wheat and sugar) if not soaked in water before. You can feed them in mash, but only bunnys that live outdoors need that much energy and also not on a daily basis :)

@@nici0246 Then that is definitely a country specific advice. Maybe that happens because in Germany there might not be the same brands of food as in other countries. I live in Portugal and we have access to basically the same pellets as the US and UK and vets usually recommend 2 daily tablespoons

@@matiasroque4716 That's so interesting! The main reason to not feed bunnys pellets is that they swell up in the stomach and also have too many calories. But if you have pellets in your country that don't do that, it's probably fine to feed them. You can always check, just put some pellets in water and see if they swell up

Rats get severely depressed alone. They will most likely die of depression very quickly. Only having one rat won't make your bond stronger with them as you can't be another rat for your rat. If anything, the bond will be weaker because they could be too depressed to interact! I understand there's a lot of information being thrown around online and that it can be very confusing, but if you need to ask questions I'm happy to answer!

@WillowWild-l4e I understand, but I would seriously consider buying another companion. It can be detrimental to their health as they could quickly contract illnesses because they are depressed. Some also say that they do this because they don't have another companion that's also looking after them in the cage. Yeah you can buy pet safe heat pads for your rats! I would recommend making sure it isn't too hot, and just supervising them to make sure they don't chew through it!

This is so sweet, they were so lucky to have you as their owner. I wish it snowed here more often, I think once Mabel and jade got used to it they likes the snow. Although nelly didn't. Nelly is super nervous so maybe she needs to experience it more haahha
