Glad to see everyone is enjoying my dad’s video. Unfortunately he passed away a few months after this posted and won’t be able to answer any questions. He was just starting to tinker with RUclips and he had so many more projects in the pipeline. He was a caring soul with a deep knowledge base and a larger than life sense of humor. He will be missed but I’m glad his legacy lives on and I can come back and hear him ramble on every once in a while

Best compressor of all quincy 325

We bought a decomissiones old esso gas station in 1985. It had a Gilbarco/ quincy 325 5 hp compressor in it. We ran a 3 bay garage there for 30 years and ran it 6 days a week. I sold that and moved my garage to my little grass airport and added 2 bays to my hangar. The compressor is still used daily and compressor head still works great. The compressor head has never been apart. We have had to have electric motor rebuilt and bought a new weg electric motor for it last year. Finally the oriiginal air tank developed a small pinhole by drain, we are changing tank today. A marvelous dependable piece of machinery.

I've got the same 1966 Gilbarco/Quincy compressor with 1 compressor rebuild under it's belt. It runs every single day as it's my main auto shop compressor. Still runs absolutely flawless and has been well maintained. Your absolutely right they are workhorses. Built to last the test of time. It's been 15 or 20 years since I've inspected the tank. I'll be getting to that here in the next day or so. Kinda scared to look but scared not to for safety side of things. I have turned the cutoff pressure down a bit to 150 instead of 175 as I don't need that high of pressure and the run time is also cut way down. Wish me luck on the inspection. It's gotta be done 👍 Btw: The restoration looks outstanding. Done mine, new paint and all at the time of rebuild. Will do another freshen up and rebuild soon, that is if the tank is up for it. 🤞

Hi, Recently I restored a 325-15 but I don't have oil pressure, check the pump and looks fine, chexk the holes and I don't foundry obstruction, what else could check??

What size copper line did you use on the exhaust side of the pump?

I, immediately, recognized that motor as soon as I saw the e-mail for your video upload. I worked for the company that made those for 26 years until I had to go on Disability 4 years ago. You did good matching the original paint color. Sadly, I can, still, remember the exact paint code. LOL! Anyway, just wanted to give you a thumbs up on the resto! Nice job, brother!
