How do you guys run food tripods, spotters, and 15s with your day mode?
We will utilize the lid for storage and the pannier accessory has a pouch that you can fit some tripods into. If there is additional storage needed, you can get the Cub accessory pouch and it will give you much more space to utilize (also doubles as a cushion if you put a puffy jacket inside)
OMG that a giant
Ok I’m some wow I have a Kuiu 5500 that I’m just not happy with and I’m in the market for a new pack and this 8k looks to be the business.
You will love it! We guarantee it!

Annihilators for the win
😂…super power
Do you have any videos on how to attach the bag to frame after the pannier is loaded with meat?
ruclips.net/video/Kvjb7gfg1p0/видео.htmlsi=J4vaRykm3eb1h6ol
Can you take loads out with the pack still on?
Haven’t seen a new video with the new pack with a load out. I’m sure you can just want to see what that looks like I’m looking for a new pack went from EXO K2 to kuiu (didn’t have the money to upgrade) now the Kuiu pack with heavy loads is putting some discomfort in the hip area. So looking at these packs. I know Brian Call and Ryan Lampers use these and they love them and being from the PNW we have some mountains so having a good back is key.
Yes, you can absolutely pack meat with pack still attached. The IA Pack system utilizes the Pannier accessory to hold that meat high on your back to help you maintain your center of gravity, which allows you to carry heavy loads more comfortably.

@@initialascentpacks thank you
So I bought my pack a few months ago and then picked up the pannier a few weeks ago. When they say that this thing is nescessary they are 100 percent correct. Its easier to carry loads while having your pack on and its also great for training on its own with a pack attached to the frame. I normally put a 45 lb plate in a game bag and strap it on with zero issues.
@@jonathanmiller3613 That’s awesome! The biggest advantage of carrying weight with the pannier is that it holds it higher on your back. This keeps you in a better and more comfortable posture while carrying heavy loads 👊🏽💥
GREAT. Fantastic I want to buy an AI3k with the pannier. I'm obsessed with being able to carry 65-80 pounds and not have the hipbelt slip down. This doesn't happen with your backpacks, right?
@@velvetvelvet7689 no sir! As long as you select the correct size hipbelt, you will not have that problem ever again
@@initialascentpacks great!! I'll put my order soon. Thanks
@@velvetvelvet7689 and if you have any other questions, please reach out to us either through here or via email at info@initialascent.com
I’ve used a ton of different bags and brands and recently switched to the 8k. It has quickly become my favorite. It’s very user friendly and well thought out. One more scouting trip and then it’s time to fill it with meat!!
Good luck this season! Thank you for your support
Are there specific areas you'd recommend replacing with the auto lockers?
The side buckles can be swapped out, especially in areas that you want to ensure security of your tripod/rifle while you are busting heavy brush. Also you can swap some buckles out on your pannier just to ensure there is no slippage while packing super heavy loads.
I'm pumped to get this thing in my hands. I had the hardest time picking a color and ended up with the coyote.
You picked a great one!
I've been dying to ask this question for two years... how would you measure your torso height on your bag. From what point to what point
The torso length does not matter when it comes to bag selection. The Initial Ascent frame and straps are completely adjustable and that is what would be adjusted based on your torso length. I hope this answers your question!
Idaho scheels?
@@jasondlion Correct ✅
Congrats IA! The best pack for carrying heavy loads and I have tried them all.
Thank you!
I'm so happy for you guys!!
Thank you so much!
Why would someone need an auto locker , I’ve heard that one cannot get them as tight but I’ve never tried one?
@@davidfleer5307 They definitely aren’t for everyone but they do lock the webbing when trying to secure items that aren’t flat like rifles or tripods. The angles these tend to create on webbing with conventional non-locking buckles, causes the webbing to slip if the angle is too great. I’m not recommending putting locking buckles everywhere but one here or there might come in handy.
Great updated video!
Glad you enjoyed it
This is awesome and well deserved. congrats!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Congrats gents
Thank you!
are they going to be in all scheels or just that one?
Meridian will be the first store they are introduced to! Help us by requesting our packs to other stores 👍🏼
My height is 5.8.and my torso length is 27inches
Do you guys have any suggestions on cleaning your bags? Hand wash? Washer, air dry???
We have actually made a video about it. Watch it here ruclips.net/video/5Ika8P1OtSU/видео.html
Get it Dennis! On the mountain as I watch this!
Can you use the meat/load shelf and still have the bag attached on the outside?

Let's go, can't wait 😊
Mine gets here tomorrow just in time for fall bear season!
Looks like I’ll be getting a new pack soon
When will you sell the shoulder strap by themselves? I want to upgrade mine. Definitely going to upgrade my hip belt
@@Terpedup925 Thanks for reaching out! We are in discussions about that currently. We’ll keep you posted.👍🏻
Super comfy and well-designed pack. Excited to get out and use it more!
Just picked this pack up. First hike on it and loving it. Very comfortable and design on it is awesome!
💪🏽🇺🇸🏹
Are you guys gonna release that on grey wolf color?
How far should the frame be above your head?
Far enough to keep at least a 30% angle on the load lifters.
I hate the zipper on my hip pouches. They never zip back up when I’m closing it. I have to use both my hands to be able to zip it up.
Sorry to hear that. When did you purchase them and what model did you get?
@@initialascentpacks I got the 3K about year ago
@@Terpedup925 Ok thanks for your business. We didn’t come out with the 3k until February of this year but if you bought the hipbelt pouches then, we’ve changed them and they open much easier. True one-handed operation. You can always contact us directly on our website with any concerns. We’d be happy to help.
@@initialascentpacks sorry I meant the 4K. And I bought the hip pouches in June of 2023
